Learning How To Let Go

So, I won't name names but I will say Klunder is not one of them. (because a lot of people would be lead to believe he'd top my list, or so I've been told)

Anyways.. its come to my attention that certain Staff members have no idea how to let go and step down when they become.. for lack of better terms.. useless.

Now, I'm sure someone (likely Staff related, and probably in direct relation to my comments and knows it) will complain and say I'm wrong. However, again without naming names - isn't the #1 goal of being on Staff - to drive discussion and participate in the areas you're over? (be it starting discussion, or continuing it)

Maybe I'm wrong, and I get Irish isn't admin anymore, however the one thing I swear he tried pushing harder than any other admin (that I'm sure Sly would agree with) was making sure his Staff kept up with posting in their areas, driving discussion, and making sure to stay on top of things.

Lately, its come to my attention that some - simply have their names in bold, for no other reason than because they've become complacent. And don't want to step down, for whatever reason. (I personally think its because they'd feel ignored and no longer 'powerful'.)

Discuss. Name names if you wish.

Been job hunting and other various things last couple of weeks, haven't had time to make many threads, really. If I'm on your list of hangers on, it probably won't be the case for much longer. By that I mean I'll have time to make threads, not that I'll leave. As for the power, while I can't speak for anyone else, even if you were a megolomaniac, the ability to infract people who can hardly speak English is a pretty low level of ambition.

I need to toss in the fact that I'm not actually trying to be "pissy" or acting like a prick toward any of the people I'm in reference to. Which is another reason I didn't include any names. (with exception to throwing out one, that was not in reference to the situation.)

Its just, I was actually at one time a mod (toward the end) that received a PM and was told to "step it up". I did just that, then promptly stepped down because I realized I didn't have the proper time to "step up" all the time.

I got bored and randomly looked through some posts and threads created by Staff members, and its shocking to see certain ones who've not even posted in the sections they're over - in months. And while threads are few and far between of being created by them, I can at least understand some people just can't start discussion - more than purely add to it.

Fuck, Sly has maybe less threads created than any Staff member, and he has even admitted to not being the type to "start" discussion, more than the one who "keeps it going".

I can agree to an extent. But, there are areas of the forums that are more active than others. Yes, mods trying to drive discussion can get some traffic flowing into these areas, but said sections aren't "enticing" to the average poster. You'll get the odd few people who like to talk about Video Games regularly... but this is a forum where the main focal point is around wrestling. As long as the wrestling areas are doing well enough, then most of the work in the modding department should be done.

These areas practically run themselves concerning the WWE and TNA sections. There are a range of people that generate discussion here, so the moderators just need to keep everything in check. Though, the Old School and General wrestling areas don't get as much love, it's still active enough for the moderators just to enforce the rules. It'd be a good idea for the moderator of that section to promote and create some interesting threads, but that's up to their own discretion. If the admins feel as if they are slacking, like not driving discussion, then they will be warned or possibly removed.

Keep in mind this is all based off assumption. I have no sources.

I wasn't calling anyone specific person out. More like a general group of people.. namely, those on Staff, who don't post, drive discussion (in the areas that deserve it), or start discussion. (in the areas that deserve it.)

No need to actually name the actual individuals. I'm sure they aren't fucking idiots who couldn't guess it was them.

If you need a check list though.. its also not hard to use the same method I did.

1. Check the Staff's recent posts & started threads.
2. go back a max of 2 months. (so roughly the beginning of April, or more specifically right after Mania when this forum is 'alive' the most and needs discussion driven highly.)
3. Notice how many mods, and g-mods, have not talked in non-spam sections/their assigned wrestling/non-wrestling non-spam sections.

And you'll have the answer.

Staff are given the opportunity to be on Staff, because they drive discussion, and step out of the crowd - so to speak. This forum won't die if they don't do this, no, however whats the point in having a Staff - if they do less posting then the regular normal members?

The objective of being a Staff member, is being a sort-of example setter. (I won't say role model, because thats just not the proper term. lol)

NorCal, out of all the Staff - you know I look at you as better than the rest, for personal reasons. Right? And on this note, wasn't it you, yourself, who just recently posted in the Fantasy WZ section that you didn't have the time to contribute to that because "you have an awesome/amazing life"?

Its a rhetorical question, because there is no logical or correct. I'm assuming because it gets so much heacy traffic, that you feel it doesn't deserve a Staff member's attention in posting - because all the new-comers do it enough.

Well, thats fair enough - except for the fact that leads back to why you're a Staff member. (lead by example.) If the Staff members don't post, why are they even apart of the forum, let alone on Staff?
