IMPACT Wrestling LD for 02.16.12

I think it's pretty obvious that it will be Sting Roode at Victory Road

You're right, but it's not all that necessary. I'd rather it be Storm in the scenario I described. Again, the focus needs to be on Storm, not Sting. Doing so and making Storm the victim to Roode until Roode can run no more is the way to go. Putting it off to focus on Sting for another month isn't nearly as smart.

Who said? Jeff got his shot tonight and lost. That story is over, or at least basic wrestling storytelling says so. Jeff's about to enter a new story with Kurt Angle.

The next two months should be about taking the focus off Sting and putting it onto Storm, building up to his title win. However, a great step in that would have been giving Storm a shot at Victory Road where he "had the win" but got cheated by Roode. Then you do the "you have noplace to run and no way to cheat in a cage" thing so Roode can no longer use his tricks, leading to Storm's big win.

Now, I have no idea who gets the shot at VR and no matter who it is you don't have to watch. Either Roode gets the night off which is dumb, or he gets a defense that you know he isn't losing. Either way it's bad business.

Or maybe we should watch instead of bitching about maybe's.

Simple answer: Sting get's Roode in a non-title, no-DQ, I'm still going to beet the everloving shit out of you match. I'd sure as fuck tune in to see it.

Oh; is something happening to Sting? I was distracted by the unmitigated awesomeness of Roode v Storm in a cage.

TNA! TNA! TNA!

The Roode Sting feuds needs a payoff

Why does Storm have to lose to Roode first? That just makes the lockdown win obvious.

It should be obvious anyway. Guy who got screwed months ago finally getting his shot. In my scenario, he'll finally get a FAIR shot. Sometimes obvious isn't a bad thing. In 1998 it was about as obvious as humanly possible that Steve Austin was winning the title and I don't think anyone complained.

For once, I think we want the obvious thing here. Storm's gotta win there. He has to.

I've been here all night. We've laughed, we've cried, we've made fun of the Patriots. All I did was offer up opinion which as a viewer I'm entitled to.

I'm certainly not against Roode/Storm at Lockdown. Hell, I'm all for it. I just think Storm deserves the spotlight before then regardless of whether Roode and Sting "need" a match. Sting is a GM and not a title contender. Let Storm become the star that he deserves to be at this point.

Remember, this coming from the guy who hasn't believed in Storm at all.

But then after Roode who else would Storm feud with? who would be interesting?

Figure that out in the next two months because Storm is going to win and he should win. Roode can get a rematch at the show after that and then lose. After that, build somebody up.

I dug it. I like TNA more now than I ever have, honestly. I like where Stinger is, Roode's awesome, Bully is hilarious (hope Rock caught the reference), and the women are (somewhat) under control. Oh, and Jeff Hardy no longer looks like a raging crack addict. Get rid of Bischoff and his idiot son, and we're set.
