Elder Scrolls V Thread

So I became the Harbinger of the Companions last night. I now run my own mercenary group. With the ability to transform into werewolves. Next on the list is to get into the College of Mages.

Thanks for the tip Sly, I can manage to improve my weapons and armor for now instead of selling lots

Wow. I purchased Skyrim from Wal-Mart on Friday and they hadn't even put it on the shelf yet. I've been playing it for four days now and I can say, for myself, THIS IS THE GREATEST EPIC FANTASY I HAVE EVER PLAYED!! First off, the paper map that comes with the game is something you'd see in Tolkien or Terry Brooks book. In fact, I think Bethesda resurrected Tolkien and turned him into a game designer. The depth of this game is unbelievable. I really haven't left Whiterun Hold yet. I've just finished completely furnishing Breezehome and I'm just going around completing quests in Whiterun Hold for now. I haven't been to any of the other cities. I'm looking forward to visiting Riften the most, but I don't want to give any spoilers away. I'm just taking my time and enjoying the view, literally; the graphics are breathtaking. This game is truly a gem. The small, sorry shred of a social life I had is now completely obliterated for the next two months. I just need to remember to shower every now and then.

Once again, Bethesda has blown me away....

P.S. How do I embed one of those spoiler windows in my posts?

I'm having a ton of fun. I love using the console cheats.... And I've found out the Developer test room where every weapon in the game is. Just be careful when you use it as some of the stuff are quest items and can break the game.

I need to stop reading this thread, and opening the spoiler tags, I actually hate you all right now

Not gonna lie, the College has to be my favorite place. Horkers are my favorite animal, so the college is my first choice. Last night caught a skele chasing a rabbit around outside of the college to go visit the horkers to show a friend what they were.

How do I join the thieves guild? That's one of the first things I do and Ihaven't found out how in Skyrim yet?

Literally sat there for an hour and a half yesterday working on my alchemy. My storage chest of potions is ridiculous.

So the game has been out for nearly 5 days. What level are we? I'm 17 but I've been splitting time with my brother.

I'm a level 10 Nord of the Imperial Legion. Just started doing actual story and side quests today. I've been exploring. A lot.

Im level 6 i havent played it much cause of Saints Row The Third but im gonna dedicated an hour or so each day as well as night i have free to play it. I have also joined The Companions.

Two questions...

How do I put a spoiler alert window in my posts?

and...

I'm a level 15 Altmer. Any tips on how to defeat a master vampire? I'm getting my ass handed to me.

I'm still wandering around Whiterun Hold. This game is off the hook!

Sorry about that. I had forgotten I'd already asked...

I just found out that you can get married! I'm gonna find me the most buxom lass in Skyrim and butter her bread! lol

Luckily I haven't encountered any bugs. Just problems with the AI getting stuck and not being able to navigate through certain areas.

Here's a spoiler involving a faction and two tips....

I've finally become a werewolf!! If you complete the "Trouble In Skyrim" quest for the Companions faction, located in Whiterun, you're given the choice to become a werewolf. Aela The Huntress is cut in the arm and drains her blood into a fountain. You then drink the blood and voila, WEREWOLF!! You can transform once per day. You also slowly regenerate health. There are two other abilities that you can get, but I'm not that far yet.

Tip 1: The money you give to trainers IS added to their inventory, so you can steal it back. This makes leveling up much easier, especially for skills that are hard to level up, such as alchemy, smithing, speech, etc.

Tip 2: There is an old man in a horse-drawn carriage just outside of Whiterun near the stables who will take you to any city in Skyrim for a small fee even if you've never been there. I've been to Riften and Solitude using the old geezer.

Might check online and see if there's a way to correct the bug.

I did and it seems like I will have to wait for them to release the patch, which they are supposedly working on because there have been so many problems with the game. I have seen my problem mentioned a few times so hopefully it will all get worked out.

So as I'm heading to a quest location, I'm sneaking around three wolves. As I am almost past them, a green dragon decides NOW would be a good time to show up. As I begin running from the green dragon (since I was caught completely by surprise and half dead before the battle started), the wolves recognize me and begin to chase me. As I'm running for my life from three wolves and a green dragon (and I couldn't be sure, but I think there might have been a spriggan or two, but I didn't stick around to find out), I ran straight into two bears ready to tear my throat out.

Needless to say, that was one "battle" I have no problem saying I fled from, with my tail tucked squarely between my legs.

I did make it out alive. Playing on an easy level does that for you.
