I can't believe how angry the first dude was and how little he actually said. He spent two paragraphs ripping you to shreds for "not knowing what you're talking about" only to tell you that The Rock (Who isn't black. He might be African-American, but he's not black.) was a big draw. And what's this dude's problem with you writing about race? He is way to cynical to be anywhere near a wrestling website.

The other dude is interesting, but I can't really tell if he has a problem with you or everyone or just Vince McMahon or what. Weird.
 
Oh it's totally not bothering me, I find it entertaining. If I didn't want reactions like this, I wouldn't write about cultural topics and I sure wouldn't have an e-mail account set up for responses. It's just awesome how some folks are. A buddy of mine saw it last night and said "sometimes you just gotta feed the trolls."
 
Guys, I have just posted a thread in the Old School forum, asking how successful Mike Awesome could have been in WCW, had he not been buried with 2 stupid gimmicks.

I posted my thoughts on it too. I admit that I was a bit marky but all that stuff came straight from the heart.

IC don't you think that The Rock appearing will have a negative effect on the WWE? After all there isn't anyone on the roster as electrifying as this guy. When he leaves after WrestleMania 27 aren't people gonna realize just how bad the current roster is at cutting promos because they will be spoiled by The Rock's promos for the next 3 months.

It's a sad state of affairs when the most insulting thing once can think of calling another is ****** cunt. I can only assume he's saying this in response to my bashing of people who thought The Rock was coming back to the WWE.

And Rattlesnake, you assume The Rock is going to be on RAW weekly for the next couple of months when I'm pretty sure there is no reason to believe that. For all we know he could appear on RAW once or twice before Mania and that's it. I don't think anyone is going to be spoiled, and perhaps it's going to make the rest of the roster step up their game.

Haha, wow Natch, you were WAY harder on him than I was. I figured he was some voice-cracking 14 year old who actually never even watch The Rock but got caught up in IWC Rocky fever.

Call me crazy, but I think more eloquent insults are much more enjoyable than thoughtless curse words, as they require at least slightly more thought. Calling someone a "festering boil on society" seems a lot more insulting (and graphic) than calling someone a "****** cunt." I'm too busy trying to figure out what that means to nurse my wounded ego.
 
But what the fuck is a homosexual vagina? Are vaginas sentient to the point where they have their own sexuality? If so, I have a lot to learn about women.

I just replied to the ECW thread. It's an interesting concept and it definitely sparked some great discourse, but I don't think ECW hiding their weaknesses is what makes them special, or even different. That said, they clearly did a good job at doing that.
 
Just read your front page article, IC. I agreed with all of it, but especially your last point about how this will only end in disappointment. I said something in the LD last night about how even though this is really exciting, it probably will leave us feeling very unfulfilled in the end. What happens if he only shows up twice between now and Wrestlemania? Surly he can't come into RAW every week from here on out, he's a very busy man. And I very much doubt he'd be willing to climb back into the ring for one more match. He's 7 years removed from wrestling and he has an acting career to think about, if he were to get hurt he'd be in a lot of trouble.
 
Absolutely, JGlass. This is to me what I was to the girl I lost my virginity to. Exciting at first because it looks really good, but over before you know it and really kind of a let down.
