It's not "New Jersey/New York". It's just New Jersey.

And it's about damn time we got another WrestleMania, we've only had to wait TWENTY FOUR FREAKING YEARS.

As for the card, I'm predicting that Dolph Ziggler will be in one of the main event matches, wrestling for either the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship. I also have a feeling Roddy Piper will be involved on the show in some way, since he has a tendency to randomly pop up at WWE shows held in New Jersey.

Personally I have enjoyed wrestlemania's in non football stadiums, they never appear to have the same atmosphere or the same level of crowd reactions as a smaller venue.

In terms of a card three potential dream matchups would be of course Punk V Austin (possible, but with the Rock being there doubtful)
Cena V Undertaker (If it is ever going to happen this will be the last chance WWE has
)
Final option may not be a crowd pleaser but Rock V Cena either as the rematch or the possible 3rd match in a best of three series that was discussed late last year

.

Yeah that annoys me too. Now all of a sudden its like that? Its not called the NY/NJ Jets or Giants either. To me, its just some poor attempt by WWE to satisfy the NYC fans who wanted 30 to be at the garden.

In the end, they gave up tradition and sold out to get more people into the building for 30.

Of course I'll be planning on going, but the whole Jersey comparison thing to NY is just stupid. If Vince wanted an outdoor place that could have held 60,000. Should have went to Yankee Stadium or Citi Field early April or late March before the the teams started playing.

It was insulting to hear Vince say " Finally the WWE is coming HOME ". UH Vince HOME is MSG, not met life stadium.. Just sayin

I actually meant it the other way, I think it's insulting to New Jersey for it to be called "New Jersey/New York". I think WM30 not being in MSG is a shame, but Jersey has been LONG overdue for a Mania. NYC had one in 2004.

I cant wait to go to this. Already been to the stadium a few times this year and last for giants games. Now, i cant wait to see how it will look for a Wrestlemania!

I think this will be austin's wrestlemania. The whole thing is gonna be centered around him.

FINALLY!! I'M GOING TO WRESTLEMANIA!!! 29 marks a return to the northeast and its about damn time. The weather shouldn't be too bad cold-wise, probably a slight breeze (prob even be refreshing to a performer enduring a 20 min match, i dont know what happened at 19 but there sure was something in the air to crank out IMO the best WM ever in that outdoor arena.):worship: I am calling it now with some rain tho.:banghead:

I was considering posting a match wish list in another thread nut they'll prb be merged anyway so lets have at it. I see some agree with some of my hopefuls already.

CM Punk v. Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Undertaker v. John Cena
WWE Champ: Chris Jericho v. Dolph Ziggler
WHC: Randy Orton v. IC: Cody Rhodes
Street Fight: Triple H v. The Miz
MITB
HOF: The Rock & Randy Savage
The midcard could be whatever the hell it wants to be if they pull this off!:worship:

METLIFE HERE WE COME!!

Personally I think Austin will do something, he says he doesn't want to be 2nd best to the Rock/Cena so he'll out do them, Perhaps him and Punk have a backstage segment and Punk says something which pisses him off and then either during Punk/Jericho he comes down and stunners Punk or maybe costs the Rock his match with Cena, which leads to The Rock v Cena II or The Rock & Punk v Cena & SCSA at SummerSlam.

As far as weather wise, that's cutting it pretty close. I live in Northeast PA and we've gotten bad snow storms all the way up to the middle of April. It will be interesting to see if we end up getting snow that weekend.

Although it's cool to see them doing something different outside of indoor warm weather type stadiums.

They should easily surpass the attendance number compared to Super Bowl 48, especially with all the seats they can set up right on the field. Vince will ram that number down our throats for months.

I totally agree. Non-Northeast people don't realize that winters in the Northeast are long and cold. It's practically winter 8 months of the year if you ask me. There's still a chance of snow in April, and its NEVER warm. I live in NJ, and trust me, it doesn't get warm until mid-May, and even then you might still need a coat. Plus, even if it doesn't snow on that day, I'm sure there would be a high chance of rain. The wrestlers could very well have to perform in like 35 degree weather. And could you imagine if it did snow... and a match sucked... the ring would get pelted with snowballs. Now, I'm SURE the WWE would do what they did at WM24 with an overhead structure over the ring, but that won't block out the cold. And trust me, it will be cold.

I forgot about the rain. Every once and awhile it will be warm in early April because I remember it being unseasonably warm when we would go to my MIL's house for Easter dinner. But it wouldn't last more than a day or two.

I almost wonder if Vince said YES WE'LL TAKE IT thinking about the Super Bowl the year after, but not taking the weather into consideration.

I've seen matches in the rain and they are pretty cool, but the weather was warm. That's a cold rain that time of year.

I am sure we will be ripped for being wet blankets, but it's the truth.

It's not my top 5 choice but its cool too see a Wrestlemania back up North. I believe this is the first time since WM23 that the Northern Area of the United States has hosted WM. I guess the reason why that they do WM at Warmer locations is because the WWE wants to do WM in big staduims and since most of them are outdoor venues, the warmer states are a better option. Metlife is probably a way to test if having an Outdoor Stadium host WM during April could work.

Anyways here's hoping for WM30 to be in Vancouver

(rock voice) FINALLY WRESTLEMANIA IS COMING TO NEW JERSEY!!! I will be in attendance and I can't wait to scratch off Wrestlemania off my bucket list (god willing) and I agree that its in NEW JERSEY not NJ/NY...Let NJ have our shine. I am hoping for these matches to happen tho:

CM Punk vs. Stone Cold
Cena (Heel) vs. Randy Orton or (2nd Top Face to CM Punk)
Taker vs. Shameus
Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara
Dolph Ziggler vs. Cody Rhodes (whc or wwe title)

just to name a few... even a tag team title please!!

I didn't think of it this way. If this can go off and the weather cooperates, it could open up a lot of choices for the E in the future. I never understood why they don't try places like Hines Field in Pittsburgh or The Linc in Philly during the Summer months. Philly is starving for wrestling.

With MetLife Stadium being announced as the home of the 29th edition of WrestleMania, the New York City metropolitan area will host the biggest WWE event of the year for a record fourth time.

But with next year’s event coming to East Rutherford, will the WWE continue holding WrestleMania every 10 years at Madison Square Garden or break tradition and move to another venue?

From ProWrestling.com:

Regarding WrestleMania 29 being held in the New York area and how it affects WrestleMania 30, a WWE source indicates that WWE officials weren't even considering the location for WrestleMania 30 yet.

WrestleMania 29 was decided on based on the bid that WWE received from the State of New Jersey. Nothing is official for WrestleMania 30 yet and there's no word if it will be held in New York City to keep with tradition.

Even though the last seven WrestleMania events have been in football stadiums, the WWE should bring their premier show of the year to Madison Square Garden in 2013 to continue the tradition set in 1994 and 2004.

While I completely understand if the company takes WrestleMania to a new stadium like Cowboys Stadium or Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the intimacy and mystique of Madison Square Garden can’t be topped by any new massive stadium in the United States.

With a new capacity of 22,000 for professional wrestling after an $850 million renovation of MSG, the venue has been arguably the best in the history of the WWE as multiple generations of McMahons have promoted events there over the years.

Whether a return to Madison Square Garden is in the works, the 2013 WrestleMania will be a spectacle to watch as the biggest event for the WWE and professional wrestling celebrates its 30th birthday in two years.

where do you think the WWE should hold the 30th anniversary of their biggest event, WrestleMania; Madison Square Garden or another location across the country?

No its going to Dallas there gonna break the damn record. Wrestlemaina will never be held in another arena. Unless Vince gose bank rupt but I doubt it.

agreed, Vince has stated thousands of times he prefers Mania to be in a huge outdoor arean in future. MSG will not be holding it in 2014, the word is Dalls, Texas will host Wrestlemania 30

WM will never be held in an Arena again because Vince wants to keep WM in outdoor stadiums for more revenue. WM30 will probably be in Cowboys stadium and to go a little off topic I pray to god that we WM31 is in Toronto as we almost got WM28 or 29 but i'm not sure which one it is.

I don't think it'll be held at MSG. Maybe a Hall Of Fame and the RAW after. I'm hearing Cowboys stadium (which I hope doesn't happen) might get it in 2014. Nothing against Dallas, Texas or their stadium but I'm about tradition. They can have mania in 2015. In all honesty WM 30 should be at Yankee Stadium or Citi field to keep the New York tradition going. While I would still love for it to be at MSG, Mania is too big for a hockey/basket ball sized arena.

I can say with 100% certainty that it won't be at MSG. First, I don't think they would do it in the same location (kind of) two years in a row (plus, they wouldn't go for such a downgrade in attendance). Second, just going to MSG, they would forfeit hundreds of thousands of dollars it gate revenue (unless each ticket cost a minimum of $1,500 or something).

A few weeks ago the rumor was WM 29 at Giants Stadium, and WM 30 at Dallas Stadium. With the NY/NJ part done, there's no reason to believe that the rumor wouldn't be true, especially since Texas Stadium is one of the newest, best, and largest stadiums in the US.

Honestly this shouldn't even be a thread. It's a done deal, not speculation.

yeah, thats right I said it.

Cena and The Rock should have a hell of a battle this year at WM 28, and then they will certainly gain each others respect. Thats when they act like they are the best in the business from one generation to the next. Thats when Stone Cold and CM Punk step in and say that it doesn't take hollywood looks to be the greatest wrestler in the world. Austin and The Rock pass the torch for Cena and CM Punk once and for all. Outdoors in NYC in March. This has the makings for the biggest event in WWE history. What better way for Austin and the Rock to lock it up one last time while they can.

It would be a perfect match for the future of the business IMO.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the chemistry of this match?

That's true. But they've done it before with Trump Plaza by having back to back Wrestlemanias. I heard the same rumor a few weeks back that it's at cowboy stadium, but then a week later I'm hearing Cowboy Stadium was out due to the final four........Maybe we'll have to wait until next year to find out

While it is true that they have had back to back Wrestlemanias in the same location, I doubt they will have it at MSG for 30.

I believe the whole point of putting it at Metlife stadium is to satisfy the NYC fans and make up for it not being at the garden for 30. They are probably going to have the HOF at MSG for 29 though, and the following nights Raw.

In the end, sadly, its about the money. If MSG and NY can come up with an amazing plan that would show amazing amounts of money, then I am sure WWE will consider it.

In the end, nobody knows.. Id put my money that 30 is in Dallas though. Vince has an ego of wanting to show up the rest of the world, and putting that many people in one place will do that. Although, what better city then NYC to show the world Mania has hit 30.

Also, NJ is not NYC. I dont care if it says NJ/NY Wrestlemania 29. Metlife is in NJ. NJ is not " Home " as Vince put it. Its almost insulting for him to say that

Completely have no interest in seeing this kind of match. I personally hate tag team matches that are main events.

Also, Cena will still always be booed no matter what. He isnt Hollywood either. He makes movies that are made by WWE.

Austin wont share that kinda spotlight.

Not to mention that I personally hate the whole idea of EVER passing the torch to Cena in any way, shape, or form. This guy has had the torch for almost 8 years now. There is no more passing of it.

If anything, id rather see Punk vs Cena and Rock vs Austin 4

Btw, Mania is in April, not March. =]

I am an Indianapolis native and I actually went to the Super Bowl this year and I've been to numerous Colts games in Lucas Oil Stadium and I gotta say, Lucas Oil would make a great location for Wrestlemania. It may not be Wrestlemania 30 but hopefully Wrestlemania 31 or another one sometime soon. It is a massive stadium. For wrestling it could probably hold 70,000+. So Vince, come to Indy!

As mainstream as it sounds, this match would be terrible and the buildup would be horrible for just a normal tag team match. Next year at WM, I honestly do not think The Rock will be wrestling another match. He might be like a special guest or have some capacity in a certain match, but I doubt he goes into a big feud again. I think next year we will finally get two matches we have all wanted to see. John Cena Vs. Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. CM Punk.
