WWE RAW LD 7/25/2011 - The King is Dead, Long Live the King

People Like Me, We Don't Play
LAST WEEK!
Game Over

The unexpected appearance of Triple H on Raw rendered an even more shocking, emotional blow to Mr. McMahon, who has been officially relieved of his duties as WWE Chairman. Taking control in his place: The Game, himself.

To Crown a Champion

Both Rey Mysterio and the Miz have earned a shot to become the new WWE Champion. It was not an easy path for either man though as Mysterio had to take down United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and R-Truth, while Miz finally got the monkey off his back by beating Alex Riley and pinning Kofi Kingston.

Punk Watch: Day One

Former WWE Superstar CM Punk interrupted Mattel's WWE panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, igniting a tense confrontation with guest speaker Triple H with the WWE Championship still in his possession.

TONIGHT!
New Era, New Champion

In the final round of the WWE Championship Tournament, Rey Mysterio and The Miz meet on the next Raw to determine the undisputed holder of WWE's golden prize. Who will be crowned the new WWE Champion?

Tonight’s RAW’s Many Questions
Will Triple H have some announcements?
Will we actually crown a new champion this evening?
Will John Cena have a plan to get into the title match?
Will Alberto Del Rio cash-in tonight?
Will we hear from either CM Punk or Vince McMahon?
Will Kofi Kingston continue to rise up the ranks?
Will the other participants of the WWE Championship tournament make up for last weeks eliminations?
Will we have another, exciting, epic clash of Divas like last week?
And oh so much more...

Hopefully there will be some solid build towards SummerSlam. It's the second biggest show of the year and it's in three weeks. WWE need to get a move on.

3 RAWs left till SS. Time to see if creative can keep it up and goin into the PPV. Eager to see what they have up their sleeve for tonite.

Last week's Raw had numerous decent matches, Triple H's bad acting and the ugliest pink jacket I ever did see. To say that I missed Punk's presence was an understatement. Always was a glutton for punishment, though, so I'll see if I can be here tonight.

Gosh did I hate that jacket with a passion.. Ruined the whole moment for me.

Mm. Ugly as sin.

I would also like to point out that, despite not recognising the legitimacy of the tournament nor any champion it may produce, I am and forever will be Team Mysterio.

My money's on Mysterio winning if Punk isn't there. If he is, no-contest.

Common opinion would appear to be that Mysterio will win only for Del Rio to scavenge the belt.

Much as Raw's appeal is damaged for me without him, I hope that Punk doesn't reappear just yet for the sake of the angle.

Can't wait for tonight's show to see what direction everything is going to be headed in for Summerslam.

I still think we're going to see Mysterio win a "new" title tonight and then have to defend it against Alberto Del Rio at Summerslam. Or they could even try a face-vs-face main event if they wanted to between Mysterio and Cena, I bet that would draw well.

Should be good. I hope Miz and Mysterio get some decent time to shine.

I've been hearing murmurs of a face-turn for Miz, so you never know how things might go. But yeah, Mysterio-Del Rio seems built for the PPV, even though they need Cena on it somewhere... Triple Threat, since he didn't utilize his rematch against Punk?

Depends on how they play it. A run-in could be good. Have him steal the replacement belt. :lmao:

They have to mention what Punk done at Comic-con. They have to, otherwise the angle will not fail, but will certainly lose a little bit of it's appeal to the average fan.

It's been said that after Raw concluded last week, Vince refused to remove his tear-stained pink jacket, wearing it all the way back to Stanford and during HHH's swearing-in as the new Chairman. When John Laurinaitis asked if he'd like to change his suit, Vince replied "Oh no...I want them to see what they've done to me."

The pink jacket, which has not been cleaned, is now stored out of public view in WWE's Stanford headquarters. It will not be seen by the public until at least 2112, at Wrestlemania 128's Fan Axxess event.

I had a hope a dream..... What if Kofi and Del Rio get in a feud and the week before summerslam its announced that they have a match for the money in the bank briefcase... but its a TLC match. and kofi wins 0.0 then punk appears at SS beats on whoever was the interim champ. but kofi comes from behind hits him with the trouble in paradise and wins back back the WWE for the company then on that monday he beats whoever was the other champ to unify the belts... (I could only dream) :)

I'm calling a Miz face turn tonight, or the beginning of it.

Punk may show up, since he's been silent about what he's gonna do tonight.

I just wonder what's gonna headline Summerslam. They better be careful cuz a -300,000 buyrate obviously won't help Vince's tears.

I'm also calling Cena vs. Rey for SS if there's no Punk.

Love the fact that Trips is taking over the chairman role. A nice, long break from the Mr McMahon character would be nice
