WWE RAW LD 7/11/2011 - This Fire Burns

Who said anything about "need"? Do you have any idea who I am, and what my hobbies are?

1) I assumed your name was Jesus or some other godly name

2) You're a God

3) Hobbies hmm making the world run

4) Need was a bad word to use I just thought you made things appear.

Your point was the Cena got outdone in Boston, which I said was hardly surprising given the fact Boston is a smark audience, just like New York, Chicago and a couple other locations.

Hmm...because Cena has gotten pretty big pops in his hometown before. So maybe all the smarks are new residents to Boston and the old guard left town. Again if an entire arena can be full of smarks, enough to distort (in your words) who seemingly gets bigger pops...then smarks aren't a majority like you've been saying. Face it that the line between smark and mark, that line between what casual fans want and want ''smarky'' fans want is slowly becoming one.

It's amazing how people don't see "the big picture".

First of all, I highly doubt "the majority" of the audience chose Punk over Cena. More likely, it was the vocal males who were close to the ring. If you watched, everytime Cena came out and they panned to a wide view, Cena got a great reaction and a very good pop.

Yeah man, it just definitely seemed that way then I guess. It just appeared that an entire area was jizzing their pants over Punk, in reality though it was just lucky seating arrangement. I never said Cena didn't get a decent pop, he did. He was out popped though, and during the last segment the crowd was clearly more pro-Punk the pro-Cena.

But what you're trying to say is that those vocal fans close to the ring within earshot of the mic who chose Punk over Cena prove Punk was better than Cena. And my point is that's just a silly way to look at it, and I gave ONS as the example.

This isn't hard to understand.

Uh no, that isn't what I said. Not even close. I'm saying Punk out popped Cena, and he did. Why/how can you argue that? You're sinking as low as to say it was because of the fucking cameras and seating arrangement? Is that how all pops/heat work? Man, this whole time I thought Orton was cheered and Vicki was booed, but maybe it's just been the seating and cameras. And maybe Cena has been getting regularly booed by an increasing number of the live audiences. Whatever helps you make your point I guess, no matter or ridiculous what you're saying is.

So in your opinion what makes star power? And please don't say "pop" or any variation of it.

Why can't I say pop? A star is someone who makes the fans tune in or come to the arena. Someone who consistently holds the audience's attention when it is their time to perform. Someone who's t shirts you see scattered throughout the arena. A name you associate with WWE. For example if in 2007 you asked 1,000 people to name a WWE superstar I would guess exactly zero would say MVP and a high percentage would say John Cena. I say 2007 because that was MVP's best year.

Then I don't know what to say. But you are wrong. Just keep that in mind.
Pretty certain I'm not.

I agree with you that he has been little more than an upper-midcarder. An upper-midcarder with three World Heavyweight Championship runs under his belt. But hey, what does that matter right?
And Sheamus has two.

What's your point?

The fact is, he has been an upper-midcarder. But if this angle has proved anything, it's that CM Punk can hang with the best of them. Wherever he's been to in this angle, he's getting a great reception. Not just from the IWC, but from the fans in the arenas. And I'm sorry if you can't hear them hanging on every word he says - that's your problem. But they are.
Do you not realize how easy it is to get the IWC to care when you're talking about real life things? Do you not understand that if Punk was working within kayfabe, people wouldn't begin to care nearly as much?

Why is that so difficult for people to grasp?
Hmm...because Cena has gotten pretty big pops in his hometown before.
Not against smark favorites he hasn't.

So maybe all the smarks are new residents to Boston and the old guard left town.
Summerslam 2006 vs. Edge. Try again.

Pretty sure I covered this.

Besides that, even if the majority of fans were smarks, I already said Boston was a smarky crowd. Most other crowds aren't nearly as smarky as Boston crowds.

Yeah man, it just definitely seemed that way then I guess. It just appeared that an entire area was jizzing their pants over Punk, in reality though it was just lucky seating arrangement.
Not lucky, circumstantial. IWC fans are more likely to pay for their own tickets, and thus, are more likely to get better seats, not to mention it probably is more important for them to be close. Whereas a family with three kids can't afford the better seats, and just being at the show is good enough.

You've been to WWE shows right? You had to have noticed that before.

Uh no, that isn't what I said. Not even close. I'm saying Punk out popped Cena, and he did.
Bullshit. Here's EXACTLY what you said:

Punk killed Cena and the fucking crowd proved it, why the fuck is this even an argument?

Your proof that Punk was better than Cena tonight was because those vocal fans close to the ring made more noise for Punk than Cena. Those are your exact words.

See this is where we differ, I'm talking star power as in beyond the wwe or wrestling world. Star power as in an individual who could be mentioned in the pop world not just because of "wrestling". As john cena has done, mvp, big show, andre the giant etc. If you're gonna judge it off of "pop" then Eugene had tremendous star power.

God damn Cena really stunk up that closing promo. Punk was fucking amazing once again during that segment, that was easily one of the best promos since the Attitude days. He had that entire crowd in the palm of his hands from start to finish in a scary manner.

And then Cena came out, and tried his potty humor, and it sounded like shit in comparison. I'm not usually one to shit on Cena's promo abilities, but that was horrible man.

I still don't see how MVP meets this criteria. Because he went to prom with that chick from the View?

As someone who was there (I'm not going to get tired of using that for a while), it was pretty even with Punk/Cena support at the end, with Punk just edging Cena out. No idea why people are shitting on Cena's part of the closing segment tonight, though. I thought Punk did the best job (though he was a little too face-like if you ask me), but Cena was fine. The people dug the McMahon jokes, and him telling Punk off was terrific.

I wanted to literally kiss Punk on the lips when he went on that spiel about the Boston dynasties and calling Cena the New York Yankees. And I was born in Boston and am a major fan of all of those teams, and he still had me marking the fuck out at how brilliant of a promo that was.

Seriously, it's scary how good Punk has been on the mic the last few weeks. This shit is easily up there with the absolute greatest promo work ever done, and that's not even slightly hyperbole.
