If money isn't important, then why was the major sticking point reportedly his name?
Because it's
his creation. He created the CM Punk character, name, everything. More than that it's pretty much who he is. Why exactly should he sign away all rights to his biggest and most important creation, one that literally defines his entire life and existence? I don't know, seems pretty easy to understand why someone like CM Punk wouldn't want to sign away all the rights to his name and identity. For fuck's sake Sly, he has the word "Punk" in his name. That should key you into his thoughts on selling out his identity to a multi-million dollar corporation.
That's the part I'm saying is silly. CM Punk was reported to not re-sign with the WWE because the WWE wants him to sign over his name. Why not sign it over, because of "personal principles"? No, you don't sign it over for monetary reasons.
No, it seems like if anything it would clearly be because of his personal principles and not money.
Successful companies sell themselves to make a profit, not to become underlings. Unless they're like TNA and need the revenue to stay alive.
Umm, no, successful and profitable companies sell themselves all the time for larger amounts of money. Take Google buying YouTube. Or really anything that Google's bought. Your point that because ROH was recently sold as a company is evidence that they're bleeding money as you say is totally invalid because successful and profitable companies sell themselves all the time for a larger payday. Seriously man, do I really need to tell you this?
WCW is proof of what happens when you don't control your own destiny. And if you really think ROH sold out for any reason other because they needed cash, you're just being willfully ignorant.
I'm not saying I know shit about ROH's fiscal situation right now. What I'm saying is you sure as fuck don't either, and your attempt to "prove" that they're losing money because they sold their company is totally faulty and invalid.
I mean, what's the benefit for ROH to sell out, if not for revenue?
I don't know. Neither do you. If you've got insider info on ROH's state as a company, do share.
So anyways, I went to a friend's and am now back to watch the rest of RAW that I missed. Anything good happen?
