UWF: Mock Draft IV

OK. Basically, the finalisation of the card comes from the result of the Edge & Christian vs. Hardyz match... so, here it is.

Hardyz vs. Edge & Christian - The Main Event

The match is fast-paced and furious from the beginning, with the Hardyz gaining the advantage for one simple reason, and that is teamwork. E&C ended on a bad note years previously, whereas The Hardyz have been working well as a team for a while. Edge had the star power, as did Christian, but they just didn't seem to gel as a team. The Hardyz soon were in firm control, looking to end the match. They whipped Edge off the ropes, and followed him in, hitting the double-clothesline to send him over the top. Matt grabbed hold of the top rope, and dove out with a plancha onto Edge. Jeff was grabbed from behind by Cage, looking for the Unprettier, but Jeff got one arm lose, elbowed Cage in the head, then ran forwards up the turnbuckle, nailing the Whisper in the Wind to perfection. Jeff pulled Cage up to his feet, and set up for the twist of fate - but fate had a much crueler twist in mind. Just as Jeff pulled Cage's head in under his arm, a chair smashed violently into the back of Jeff's head, cracking around the arena like a gunshot. And Matt was the one who pulled the trigger. Matt stands in the ring, staring at Jeff as he crumples to the mat. Without a word, Matt drops the chair and walks out, up the ramp into backstage. Edge wastes no time, rolling into the ring, pulling Jeff to his feet and nailing the Edgecution DDT, pinning him for the three count.

LWE Press Release

Shane McMahon has made a short statement in the finalisation of LWE's A Night To Remember. Firstly, Chavo Guerrero will be added to the Hardcore Title match. And, following the events of a recent LWE Event, Matt Hardy will face Jeff Hardy in a Last Man Standing match. Shane was quoted simply as saying "I don't know the reason for Matt Hardy's actions, but I do know that he will pay for them. I know I'm supposed to be impartial, but I hope Jeff kicks his ass, no mater what it takes."

Confirmation of full card to follow shortly.

Sam, you've fucked up my draft! I just realised, you completly missed one of my picks. I thought I didn;t have to make 3 at the end, I was only missing 2. Allow me to quote:

LWE House Show Remainder - MEN Arena

Brian Pillman vs. Curt Hennig

Hennig wants to get into a wrestling match, but Flyin Brian isn't having any of it, and soon it's nothing but a slugfest. Hennig is knocked out of the ring, and takes some severe punches from Pillman to the mouth, but counters a whip, sending Pillman head-first into the steel post. Something inside him's snapped, and he grabs up a nearby chair, and procedes to smash it 6 or 7 times across Pillman's back. From that moment on, Mr. Perfect is in control. Perfect takes it to him around and inside the ring, including a vicious back drop from inside the ring over the ropes and to the floor. He heads out to where Pillman's body is splayed, and pulls the mats up, revealing the concrete below. He motions for the Perfectplex, smiling that cocky smile that only he ever seemed to get just right. He spins on the spot - and Pillman's gone. Pillman's just disappeared. Suddenly, someone rolls out from under the ring behind Hennig - and of course, it's good ol' Stone Cold. One chair shot later, and Austin hoists Hennig into the air, violently bodyslamming him onto nothing but concrete. He tosses Perfect back into the ring, and rolls in after him. He pulls Hennig to his feet, and hits the gut shot. But, at the last second, he pulls back from hitting the stunner. He stands facing Hennig for a second - then nails him with the Perfectplex! Austin smiles, then rolls out of the ring, and pulls Pillman from underneath it, tossing him under the ropes and onto Hennig's prone body for the 1-2-3, setting the match for A Night To Remember. Austin then pulls Pillman carefully out of the ring, and carries him gingerly to the back.

-Break-

As the show comes back, Shane McMahon's stood in the ring, ready for some serious annoucing of announcements. (That's bad, but not "kicked your leg from under your leg" bad). "OK, it's time to pretty much complete the booking for A Night To Remember. First off, we're going to see a three-way X-Division championship match. Oh... it's a three way Ultimate X match! The first man, one of the hottest rising stars on the market today, of course, it's Kaz! The second competitor, a man who's arguably more experienced than any other competitor in Ultimate X, "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams! And finally... Lightning Wrestling Enetrtainment's next draft pick, this is Billy Kidman!

Kidman's music roars out over the crowd as he marches to the ring, and takes the mic from Shane to applause and cheers. "Listen, I know I'm the least experienced in this type of match, but I promise you, I will leave A Night To Remember with the X-Division belt! And that is a guarantee!" Kidman walks out of the ring, to the back. Shane smiles and raises his mic again.

"If you think that's good, we're just getting started. For a start off, we here in LWE have some of the greatest competitors in history, and at A Night To Remember, we're going to showcase that. So, here's some simple elements, see how this sounds - Mr. Kennedy. Bryan Danielson. 2 out of 3 falls." The crowd goes wild, the sudden announcement of such a great match bringing them a roar of appreciation. Shane raises that microphone one more time... oh, and of course, what would a wrestling event be without a good old fashioned brawl? So, we're having a Hardcore title match... a time limit title match with a difference. As in the old TLT matches, one man starts with the title, and after a limit of 15 minutes, whoever holds the title at the end of the match wins and leaves with the title. But, the difference is that of course we don't currently have a champion. So, the match starts as just a simple first-fall-to-the-win match. Once one man gets a victory, then the time limit starts! The match will be a 6-man match, featuring Umaga, Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Pillman, Mike Awesome and 2 new draft picks. The second will be announced later. The first? This man, ladies and gentlemen, this is Jeff Jarrett!

Jarrett's cheers blow the roof off the place. What a moment for Jeff Jarrett to debut in this great company. The crowd is electric, and the fans are loving it.

See that big bold bit? You obviously didn't the first time! Therefore, I need to drop both Young and Roode (the angle I had planned for them is worthless now, thanks to you) and make a replacement pick.

A little. I've had to re-jig a fair bit of my original plan. But anyway, here's my decision:

Eric Young is fired. Yes, I fired Eric. However, as my final pick, I'm keeping Roode. And moving my card slightly. Is everybody ready for the worst Paint-Made poster ever?

Take out Smith and Guerrero, put them in a separate match and you've got an extra match, both twice the value of the original one. That's like a value increase of four times right there. It'll also be a rip on my main event in my original draft show but who gives a shit?

LWE Intercontinental Title Streetfight
"Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

Stone Cold Steve Austin in an IC title match? Did I read that right? You have the biggest star this business has ever seen fighting for a midcard belt?

Last Man Standing Match
Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy

2 out of 3 falls
Mr. Kennedy vs. "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson

2 Falls Hardcore Title Battle Royal

Yea, the rest is also fairly good, but where are the tag teams at?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Explain again?

Yeah, but I like the storyline. I just fancied whacking the IC title in there. It actually subtracts from the value of the match, you're right. OK, quick card change:

This is now a main event match. The IC title will be on the line in the Kennedy/Danielson match.

Were tag team matches mandatory? Coz I could re-construct this slightly to put in a tag match if necessary.

I like this, Edge, Christian, and E.G can perform in a gimmick match, and without.. I dont know anything about SMith outside of his tag team success. I like this match and could be a really good one.

LWE Intercontinental Title Streetfight
"Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
could be a good match, but having one of the biggest names in the industry in an IC feud is weird. But it could be a show stealer.

Last Man Standing Match
Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy
Brother vs Brother feud.. could be good, because it is a gimmick match.

2 Falls Hardcore Title Battle Royal
Jeff Jarrett vs. Nigel McGuinness vs. Mike Awesome vs. Umaga vs. Robert Roode vs. Brian Pillman
I like this match to an extent, an Awesome and umaga square off could be good, and Pillman was a crazy S.O.B

Ultimate X X-Division Title Match
Kaz vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Petey Williams vs. Billy Kidman

I dont know much about Williams but this could be a solid match because they all are proven light weights

Have Edge/Cage in a ladder match for the title, and Guerrero/Smith lower down the card.

Well, it depends how you interpret the rules. Tag teams were mandatory but I never said about tag matches. You can leave it out for this PPV if you want, but I think it'll weaken your card in comparison slightly.

That's everyone then, right? What do people think deadline-wise?

I was also thinking of doing this one as a league table rather than a knockout competition.

Thoughts?

What do you mean by "league"? And I should have my card up tomorrow no matter when the deadline is, I gotta take my computetr in for a fixing tomorrow, so My card will be up before then, and I might not be on for a while after that.

I like the league idea. That way, we all get to finish our storylines, so no-one's left wondering. Good one Sam, I'm all for it.

Derf, league as in we've got like a table with all of us in it and the guy in first place gets five points, guy in last gets one point after each poll. See what I mean?

I like that idea, but what are we doing about additional draft picks, or are we even having any?

I don't really like the idea of additional draft picks; it sort of throws the balance of the drafts out of whack.

I've updated the first post with a league table. Votes will only come into play in the event of a tie. How's five shows overall for everyone? Good? Remember, deadline for first shows are next Sunday.

Reckon mine'll benefit from Lesnar's recent UFC exposure?
