TNA iMPACT NITRO LD 05/03/10: Sting and Hogan... WHO'LL FLINCH!?

See, this is the genuine issue for TNA as a long term wrestling company: their world champion is 39, Jarrett, Sting and Hogan of whom the ages are 42, 51 and 56 respectively, and guys like the Band and 3D are getting pushed on the same level or higher than the younger guys. This can't work forever and eventually the young guys have to take over. However, when the old guys finally leave, there's been no growth for the new guys. It killed WCW and it's happening again here.

Aww man, can't we even attempt to discuss the good things that happened on the show tonight? I'm sure there will be plenty of TNA iz burningz discussion till next monday.

Yeah, two things, bro:

1. Anderson's promo was great

2. Sting almost told it like it was and called Hogan out for being the egotistical ******** he is.

Not a fan of Doug Williams challenging Kaz for the X-title?

Ummm, there had to be more.... A.J. Styles beat Abyss.

Williams/Kaz was OK. I guess it works, but I'm still pissed about Moore getting Kazarain'd out of the title picture just to work with useless Jesse Neal. Ink Inc. should change their name to Job Inc., because in a very short amount of time that's exactly what they'll be doing.

AJ/Abyss was fucking stupid. I can't stand Abyss.

Thats MCMG unofficial title. Prepare to lose your bet with KB, X.

Well seriously what did you expect from Wolfe? He's young, talented and uniqs simue looking. That's simply bad for a wrestler to have. What we want is OLD. Fuck this young and talented stuff. We need old men that were big deals 15 years ago when Wolfe was in like 8th grade. Oh and fake cum.

I gotta say, KB – as much shit as I've given you over the last few months about TNA... it's becoming progressively more and more difficult to defend it.

Since day one of the Hogan regime, I have been warning people these days would come. Things would be cool for a few months and then it would focus on Hogan and the young and talented guys would be pushed aside. The angles would also get stupider and stupider. We would get occasional good stuff like (most of) Lockdown, but the TV between the PPVs would get unbearable.

People kept saying I was crazy and one by one the TNA marks have turned on this show. This was bound to happen and I've been saying it since the beginning: Hogan was the worst decision this company could have made.

We'll get a few good moments now and then. The Angle/Kennedy feud, RVD winning the title, but at the end of the day, this show is about Hogan. RVD wins a three minute squash to defend the title. Cool. Hogan is the last thing we see though and the closing image for the show, just like last week, and the week before that. TNA screams about how they're the alternative to WWE and how WWE has the same stuff every week. TNA has Hogan every week and WWE mixes things up on a regular basis. Now TNA is running back to Thursdays after WWE destroyed them. I'd take a guess and say ratings won't be incredibly high either. .9 or so on Thursdays, but now about 2 months have passed and they're right back where they were, minus money and with their fans thinking that TNA just got beat by WWE. It was a ballsy move, but it blew up in their faces. Again: TNA is trying to do too much too fast and it's hurting them.

Even though Hogan is loved in the Impact zone now, its safe to say he is the most annoying character on that roster. I hate Hogan now even more then in the NWO days when he was a full fledged heel. You have Hogan and Sting gibbering to end the show like two grumpy old men while Raw has Orton and Edge in a heated promo.

I don't know who is responsible for booking Impact but they should be fired. Hogan, Russo, Bischoff, Dixie. Whoever it is needs to stop. Do we really need to see a 56 year old man beat down all the wrestlers every week? A man that can't even walk?

I want to say something good about Impact, but there wasn't a damn good thing to say about this week. It had a lot of potential, but the show was awful. I was behind Hogan all the way, but now I can't wait to see him go.

That's just great.

Thirty minute clusterfuck to open the show.

Hogan grants Wolfe a title shot, downplaying the poll he topped.

Ink Inc...

The Guns and Beer Money don't get entrances because it'd TV time better spent on the Dudleys and another pointless addition to the nWo. I hope Sabin and Shelley are at least getting paid well.

The thirty minute clusterfuck likely cut time off of the title match Wolfe got. It was an afterthought and showed us that our opinion doesn't matter if we're going to have the wrong opinion. Can you see Hardy or Anderson getting cut short like that?

Oh, and Hogan and Sting ended the show. After months to plot this out, they fumbled the writing. And even two great promo men couldn't save that aborition of a segment. It was "Edge and Christian from last Friday" levels of underwhelming.

For every step in the right direction, there's at least ten more into the eagerly waiting video library of Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

Also, some other shit happened. It wasn't good, forget good enough to make up for all the other shit.

Waltman done with TNA, I presume? Well, it's slow, but TNA are slowly trimming the fat. :)

Nastys? Gone. BTLS? Gone. Waltman? Likely gone. Gotta be thankful for what we get, I suppose.
Waltman didn't need to get cut.
