SummerSlam: C.M. Punk vs. JBL

bull shit is what this match is for the world title match on one of the four big ppv's in the year this is a major let down u have punk who is so boring and jbl who is just horrible this match will not draw for shit of course punk will win cause jbl as champ is far worse then punk but im very dissapointed for the two campionship matches on summerslam

I S'pose This Match Is Better Then Trips Vs Khali ? But Still Is Creative Trying To Put Cena Batista Bigger Then The Actual Title, If They Was Going To Have 2 Worthless Matches Like Trips Vs Khali And Punk Vs Jbl, Obviously Where The Titles Arnt Going Anywhere, Then Why Not Have Triple H Vs Cm Punk Hype It As Champ Vs Champ And They Match Will Draw More Then Both The Respected Title Matches Just In That One Match :)

Over And Out

Still I have to say that out of all the title matches, this one will definitely be the best. (Mark Henry and Khali, I'm not wasting any hope on their matches.) Khali vs HHH, uh, the most predicatble match ever...

Mark Henry vs Matt Hardy, not quite as perdictable but I find Henry boring and repetitive to watch in the ring. Hoping for a Hardy win, seeing as how he definitely deserves it.

Anyway, CM Punk wins, plain and simple. Reason: As I said before, he's just starting to get the reaction a World Champion deserves, and I don't know ANYONE who would want JBL as Champion. Even Punk-haters, who would love to see him lose that World Title, would probably rather see someone else eventually take the strap from him.

Oh boy, train wreck possibly coming at this point. Simply put, does anyone think that these styles go together at all?

JBL is a fat hack, that is only good at beating people up in the locker room, and Punk wrestles a very un WWE style in the ring.

This match goes down like this, JBL is going to be his typical bully self, and he's going to go stiff on Punk. Punk will take it, but for how long. Regal went stiff on Punk in there recent match, and Punk took enough before he let loose on him. I think this match is going to break down, and I think you're going to see Punk land a ton of stiff kicks towards the end of this match to put the fat ass in his place.

It would be a shame to take the belt off of Punk at this point, especially considering the alternative. However, that title reign isn't going to last forever, and you have to think that the WWE is going to start setting up their main events for WM 25 within the next few months, something that I wouldn't trust Punk with at this point.

I actually think Punk is doing a good job with his title run. It's working out just fine for him. I think putting the title on him was nothing more than a joke on HHH's part. I'm convinced it was done to make him look like the bigger champion, and Smackdown look like the superior brand.

I don't have any intrest in all that ratings bullshit. But from what little I've read Punk is drawing. Not much, but a better number than what WWE thought they would. If they're going to take the title off him then it should go to Cena. But I don't see the point. Cena is the star of the show, so he shouldn't need the title. It'll also mean more if he waits until Mania. Punk should drop it to Jericho. That could then keep Batista busy in the winter months.

It makes sense for punk to retain right now. If JBL wins, then where do we go? A JBL/Cena match, again, for what is it now, the 500th time? I suppose JBL vs. Batista, but we've seen that before too. It makes more sense to keep it on punk since there are a lot of potential feuds that could happen that we haven't yet seen.

Also, if JBL does lose...seriously, give that guy his announcing job back. He contributed much more to the company as an announcer than he has since his return to the ring.

I see Punk going over, simply becuase there is nowere new to go with JBL. On the other hand, Punk vs ANYONE is fresh, so, it makes sense to begrudgingly keep the title on him. It will be good to see Punk bloody up and shut up JBL once and for all, and that may what this is, the last hurrah in attempting getting Punk over as the underdog face champion. If he is still met with general apathy, well then he probably drops the belt at unforgiven. if not, then he will hang on a while longer. You have to think Cena Vs Punk has to be coming down the pike soon. So I see JBL possibly the only guy going down hard to Punk, in this experimental title run. Punk goes over.

Im going to go with the idea that if JBL wins the title, I will riot! This guy can barely compete in a wrestling match. There is no way he should be the top guy on raw. He is still hurting, he is slow, he is out of shape, he has as much charisma as a bag of garbage and his energy drink sucks. These qualities definitely don't equal world champion. If this was say a parking lot brawl or some other type of weapons match where JBL would not have to rely on his diminishing wrestling skills but rather on brawling, then he would probably win the match. But since this will be a 1 on 1 regular match for the title, CM Punk should walk out champ.

I agree with healyz... I could not stand JBL's last reign. His promos as champ just dragged on and on and on.... He was even worse than HHH as a heel in that way.

Punk better win... he still has a chance to make this reign seem worthwhile and potential to be a good champion.

I somewhat agreed with you there till I saw the part about the energy drink. That has nothing to do with Wrestling. I disagree with the charisma argument too because he has one of the best heel characters in the buisiness.

When JBL is in the match there is always a legitimate threat he could walk out champion. But seeing as how punk hasn't gotten a fair legit win yet his entire title reign. He needed this one win so that he didn't look like a fluke champion. He'll probably drop the title in a triple threat with Cena and Batista to Cena at Unforgiven.
