Well I voted for:

Mick McManus - Legendary wrestler who really does kick ass, but is very underrated, a lot like an english dean malenko

Giant Haystacks - I know, however much i love big daddy, this guy won it because he has dirty tactics which is great for street fights and is bigger meaning more resilience and will only be lifted if he is facing hogan or cena.

William Regal - What can I say, submission expert.

Please, why the McGuinness love???? These people are more experienced, have more to bring to the ring and McGuinness is a power house, the rightful job of Bullod, don't take this away from him!

Why? Because the Queen liked him?

That's just racist. It is touched on in what I'm about to reference though.

Anyway, I voted for Big Daddy. The reasons are contained neatly within this thread, created by Y 2 Jake as IrishCanadian25:

For those of you seeking knowledge on the legend known as Big Daddy, here I am to provide it for you. If I'd made a vote, he would have made the 3rd Annual Wrestlezone Tournament, and with the exception of MAYBE Sting, he should win the WCW Region. If he was so in that region.

So here, in list form is everything you need to know to vote for Big Daddy, and appreciate the man's legend.

1. Big Daddy is a 2-time European Heavyweight Champion. It's the only major championship to his credit. Why? Because he stuck with European wrestling, and even continued to defend the European Heavyweight Championship after World Of Sport was taken off the air in 1985. Big Daddy was the most established, legitimate star in the history of British Wrestling.

2. Big Daddy defeated everybody Widely regarded at the time to be the best wrestler in the world, Tom Billington was always in the shadow of Big Daddy when they were on the same card. And not because of his sizeable girth.

3. Some of Big Daddy's other victories are over men named: Steve Regal, Mal "King Kong" Kirk, Mick McManus, Giant Haystacks , Dave Finlay, Davey Boy Smith and Steve Veidor . Look again at that list. NOBODY else has beaten all of those men. NOBODY. That's sick. Other than Steve Veidor , it reads like a who's who or British Wrestlers.

4. Big Daddy is the only Super Heavyweight who's never been slammed. Finlay didn't slam Big Daddy. And Dave Smith didn't slam Big Daddy. Neither did Mick McManus. Nobody slammed Shirley Crabtree.

BIG DADDY would destroy El "The Chosen One with the Booking Power" Canek in under 10 minutes.

BIG DADDY would dismantle Big Van Vader, but in a 20-minute classic.

BIG DADDY would make Bam Bam see double before pinning him in under 6 minutes.

BIG DADDY is the reason guys like Dynamite Kid had a shot.

BIG DADDY was The Queen's favorite wrestler.

My other votes went to the rather generic choices of William Regal - or, as some call him, the British Kurt Angle - and the Dynamite Kid, because he had some, uh, great matches in Japan. Which I actually care about.

Shame this poll is closed, I would have loved to have seen Mick McManus do a bit better, he's the best british wrestler ever in my opinion. Ironic that I'd go more old school being fourteen, but the stories of how over him and Big Daddy were my dads told me and the episodes of WoS i've seen, ive become a massive fan of Mick McManus as well as Jim Breaks. Two great rulebreakers. But then, most people here have probably never seen WoS, and are less likely to vote that way, so oh well, these are still great choices.

2. Big Daddy defeated everybody Widely regarded at the time to be the best wrestler in the world, Tom Billington was always in the shadow of Big Daddy when they were on the same card. And not because of his sizeable girth.
Kendo Nagasaki beat him clean twice in 1975. No one ever beat Kendo Nagasaki.

I was a fan of wccw glad gentleman chris adams got on the poll, kinda sad he only got 1 vote but hey thats how thinks go but regardless there was some good names on the list.

Regal for submission is the first east choice. A great catch as catch can wrestler, he has proven his worth in a submission match.

I give falls count anywhere to Davey, because the match needsa brawled like him. The only other person I could see here is Piper.

Ladder match was a one in two choice, but I gave it to Dynamite. I really just hope to see him hit a head drop off the top of the ladder.

Spin the wheel I for piper. Icould see him in a great amount of situations, and his veteran standing gives him an edge.

Mcguiness is the most athletic, and with the most stamina, so I put him in the Iron Man match.

This is a pretty well balanced team, and could surprise a lot of people here. Should be interesting to pair them up...

Submission Match ~ Nigel McGuiness

After seeing what this man can do, watching him in TNA, I have to put him here. He can wrestle with anyone, and he has a devastating arsenal of moves.

Falls Count Anywhere ~ "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

He's a pure brawler, and can take quite a beating. This is the best pairing for him to go in.

Ladder/MiTB Match ~ Dynamite Kid

Where else would he go? He's the best "flier" on the team, and he's definitely the best technical wrestler. Being the fastest and most agile is the biggest reason he's here, but there's an endless list of reasons.

Iron Man Match ~ William Regal

He's a better technical wrestler than Bulldog, and he's got a larger repertoire of moves, so that's why I put him here. I'm not sure how well he'd do if it was a longer Iron Man match though.

Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal ~ "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith

I wasn't sure where to put him. He's not as slow as your typical powerhouse, so he'd fit in with almost any match thrown at him.

Submission Match
It's either Regal or McGuinness and looking ahead, I don't see anywhere that Regal fits better. WCW Regal was an awesome submission wrestler, not that that'll matter on this forum.

Falls Count Anywhere
To be honest any of the remaining 4 could take this spot and it wouldn't make much difference but given the other matches, Piper seems the obvious choice and is tough as nails.

Ladder/MiTB Match
Purely because I want Billington in the Iron Man Match I'm taking McGuinness here, he's a slightly better choice than the Bulldog, although Davey was far from slow himself, McGuinness is a little smarter.

Iron Man Match
No-one in the other teams would want to be stuck in the ring with Billington for 30 minutes+. The guy was a beast and superior to Benoit in every way.

Spin The Wheel, Make The Dea
For a power guy, the Bulldog was remarkably quick, agile and adaptable for pretty much any match. He's also the last guy so he's going in this match whether he likes it or not.

Iron man match

Dynamite kid

I’d say that the Dynamite Kid would be the ideal choice for the Iron Man match. This is the man whom Chris Benoit modeled himself after; the two share similar offense and defensive maneuvers. Chris Benoit is being considered for the Iron Man match position for Canada, so it makes sense to put someone with similar abilities like Dynamite Kid in the same position for the UK.

Submission

William Regal

I feel William Regal is underrated as a submission artist, instead, he’s mostly known for his innovative offense using suplex’s and his pound and ground style. Regal has great in ring presence, combined with his knowledge of dirty tactics makes him a dangerous combatant. Of Team UK, Regal is the best at isolating and capitalizing on an opponent and the weaker portions of their anatomy. This makes him ideal for the submission match.

Falls Count Anywhere

Roddy Piper

This match is perfect for the Hot Rod; his knowledge and utilization of dirty tactics will serve him quite well in a No DQ, anything goes environment. With an unwavering will and an unbreakable spirit, Piper would fight tooth and nail against even the toughest and most savage opponents and still win.

Ladder

Nigel McGuinness

The quickest and most nimblest member of Team UK, the ladder match could be an event for McGuinness to truly shine in, even against opponents that are known to be specialists in the area.

Spin the Wheel

Davey Boy Smith

The biggest and strongest member of Team UK, the British Bulldog skills would be ideal for any random match. Whether or not the outcome is a table match, a cage match, or a no DQ match the Bulldog’s range of techniques, combined with his strength and durability would make him a tough opponent to take down.

Dynamite Kid - Ladder / MITB Match
Davey Boy Smith - Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal
William Regal - Submission
Nigel McGuinness - Ironman (30, 45, 60 mins)
Roddy Piper - Falls Count Anywhere

The first name on the teamsheet was Dynamite Kid. You could put up an argument for him winning any of these matches, but you can be sure that a man that helped define high flying wrestling in North America would have won a few more ladder matches these days.

McGuinness was a contender for submission until he lost a submission fall recently against a potential opponent, so I put him in an iron man match. Most ROH workers have proven themselves over long periods, and he's no exception.

Davey Boy goes into spin the wheel, because he is one of the most versitile on any team. He's fast against big guys and big against little guys, there are few people in few matches where he'd be in out of his depth.

William Regal's catch wrestling ability is often feted, and as a result he'd be an ideal candidate for a submission match. He has a submission finisher and a range of other holds.

Rowdy Roddy Piper was wild back in the day, and he would certainly be in his element in this kind of setup. He's probably the best brawler ever in a wrestling ring, and his inclusion here is merited.

This was the easiest team to set up so far, as there are no compromises. Everyone deserves their spot in each match, and there's no case of it being all that is left for anyone. Sad to see no true World of Sport workers though, even though three of them did have a brief stay there.
