Again, at some point, you can only have so many great wrestlers, X. You're going to need a brawler, somebody that's able to give a diverse feel to this team. Otherwise, when you face wrestlers that have impactful manuevers (Hogan, Taker, etc.) something's going to have to give. I love me some technical wrestling as much as the next guy, but at some point, you have to call for the big guns. And Canada's biggest gun seems to be The Quake, especially in both Rumbles and Survivor Series.

Eh, there are quite a few better brawlers than Earthquake. Benoit and Bret for example. Just because they're technically skilled doesn't mean they can't brawl with the best of them.

See, I'm not sure where Roddy's going to qualify. Yes, he's Canadian, but I'm not sold that he wouldn't be a member of a Scots team.

I don't see why he would be, he played up his Scottish ancestry but he never put on an accent and pretended he was from Scotland.

Why Christian? I mean, Edge I surely get, but do you really find Christian to be a better asset to the the team than Earthquake.

I certainly do. For that matter I think Christian is a much more talented wrestler than Edge. I'd put Christian in here over Quake. Have Christian in the ladder match, Jericho in the submission match, Bret Hart in the Iron Man match, and Chris Benoit in the battle royale. Shit, Benoit has won the Royal Rumble, he'd be perfect for it.

As for Edge... Simply enough, if you have Chris Jericho for your ladder match, why do you need Edge? Maybe for a Hardcore match, a la Falls Count Anywhere, but I don't see why we need two ladder specialists on the team.

Well first off Edge is a better ladder specialist than Jericho, by far. But again, I'd rather have Edge in there in your falls count anywhere match than Earthquake, who had little to no experience in a hardcore environment.

I've heard people say names like Test and Vampiro. Woo.

Lance Storm would be on this team if it were up to me. One of the most underrated wrestlers ever.

I think team Canada will be relatively easy to pick. Sure, there are a lot of great Canadian wrestlers, but 5 rise to the top.

Bret Hart - Looks to be the unanimous choice for captain. Incredible at everything, there's a reason he was "the best that ever was." There should be no argument here.

Chris Benoit - He'd be one of the best in the world today if it wasn't for the whole dead thing. Obviously will be helpful in the submission match and is just all around a great wrestler.

Chris Jericho - Most entertaining guy in wrestling at the moment, has had great matches when buttloads of people and has had a ton of success throughout his career.

Edge - 92 time World Champion, great on the mic, solid heel, and someone who has a lot of support on here. He can't be left off this team.

Christian - Part of the greatest tag team of the 21st century with Edge. Multi time NWA champ in TNA and currently tearing it up as ECW Champion.

I guess Storm should be considered, but I don't really care for him at all. Don't see the love affair. Also, with his recent Legend's Championship win, EY should be in the conversation, not on the team though.

The Final 15 Nominees:

Bret Hart
Chris Benoit
Chris Jericho
Christian
Owen Hart
Lance Storm
Edge
Earthquake
Killer Kowalski
Abdullah the Butcher
Robert Roode
Petey Williams
Val Venis
Stu Hart

1. Each poster may vote for THREE WRESTLERS.

2. If someone votes for more than three, all of their votes will be disqualified.

3. Think before voting. Once you hit the submit button, there is no changing.

4. The wrestler with the highest vote total will be named captain.

My votes went to Benoit, Hart, and Jericho, as I'm sure most people's votes will as well. They're simply the cream of the crop when it comes to Canadian wrestlers, three of the greatest wrestlers this world has ever produced, let alone just Canada. Half of the guys on this poll probably won't even receive one vote.

Only 14 nominees? You could've at least put EY on the list, he's better than Petey Williams.

I gotta agree with X here though, those 3 are clearly the cream of the crop up north and get my vote here. Hopefully Hart gets a few more than the other guys as he needs to be captain here.

Christian and Edge should also make this team and I bet they'll get a lot of votes based on the popularity they have on here.

Oops, I meant to place EY as the 15th name, but I must have forgotten.

Not like it matters. Team Canada is full of locks. The USA poll is the real drama right now. The only question here is who between Christian, Owen, Storm, and Quake gets the 5th and final spot with Bret, Jericho, Benoit, and Edge getting 1-4. At least I think that's what will happen. I've seen crazier.

Bret Hart, Stu Hart, and Owen Hart get my votes. These three are my favorite Harts. They are no doubt the best Canadians in the business. I expect many people will vote for them.

This poll was sort of easy to pick from. You got to wonder though who is going to be the leader and take control of this team to the top. My two choices would be Bret Hart or Chris Jericho. I believe they have the best leader qualification and either man is good though. I picked Christian, Chris Benoit, and Lance Storm. I probably should've pick Owen but I just saw his name after the fact. Surprise no one really had voted for him. Everyone has talked about in the other posts but only he has one vote so far. The team is looking good but its going to be close on who the fifth member is going to be. Chris Jericho, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, and Edge are going to be hard to beat but it's going to be interesting though. As much as I love Lance Storm especial when he teamed up Justin Credible and as a member of WWE Team UnAmericans. I really liked Christian a little better and his chemistry would fit in more better with his team mates then Lance I think. Who knows how this is going to end and I can't wait.

I am quite happy with the leading three participants as they are the biggest stars to come out of Canada. Many of the other ones would be great as well but there can only be three.

My choices were pretty simple but they are a shoe in for the team.

My first vote went to Chris Benoit, simple choice really, we can use him in the Submission match, no one on the team could match him in that aspect except for Bret Hart and Chris Jericho, but they will be used in other matches.

Second vote was for Jericho, I believe we need him for the Ladder match, especially if U.S.A are getting RVD to compete in it. Chris would probably be the only one to match him, so easy vote

My final vote went to Christian. Simple really, I voted him because he is my favourite out of the team and I thought he may need my vote. Did not expect Lance Storm being ahead of him though.

The shock is that Chris Jericho may beat Bret for team captain in which im suprised about.

Stu Hart, Bret Hart, Jericho...

Seriously, noone better represents Canada then the Hart Family, and I feel that Jericho is a good charismatic counterbalance to Hart, who I find a little dry, to add some spice in any promo work and can hold his own with the best in the ring.

Nuff said.

I voted for Chris Jericho, Bret Hart, and Edge. No, Edge is not one of the top three wrestlers to ever come from Canada, but the only other option after Hart and Jericho would be Benoit, and I simply cannot vote for a murderer, whether it be for an internet wrestling tournament, a Hall Of Fame induction, or to be a fucking line leader; I will not vote for Benoit. John Cena is hated for being boring, but is respected for his dedication to the business. By that same token, Benoit needs to be hated for the harm he did to the business. He not only hurt the WWE by no-showing his ECW Title Match (which, since Benoit was slated to win, could have made ECW more legit rather than it's current state of The Vladinator as a main eventer), but he also made American wrestlers in general look like abunch of roided-up maniacs.

After that, wrestling was looked at as a circus, not a sport. He also stopped a very interesting storyline with the Mr. McMahon Death thing, and on a personal note, I lost a favorite wrestler, as around the time of his death, I was using YouTube to get into him. After the incident, I could no longer watch him because I knew I was looking at a murderer. If Triple H is hated for twittering all over Stephanie's facebook and stopping Brian Kendrick's apparent golden road to the WWE Championship :)rolleyes:), then it is certainly right to hate, or not vote for Chris Benoit for murdering his own fucking wife and child.

Vote Christian over Lance Storm here, not question. Christian is much more interesting to watch and has more success overall. He also was part of the greatest tag team of the decade with another member of this team, Edge. Him being a part of this team will strengthen them in many ways, especially the Survivor Series Match.

Also, vote Bret Hart instead of Chris Jericho, Hart should be the captain here

Ironman - Bret Hart. Pretty easy choice here. He's the best there is, the best there ever was, right? Why not put him in the match that should involve the best overall wrestler? He has the durability and the ability to work his magic for hours at a time.

Submission - Chris Benoit. Another straightforward one. Aside from Hart, Benoit is the best submission wrestler on the team. He's made a bunch of big names tap out throughout his career.

Falls Count Anywhere - Edge. This seems like the perfect kind of match for the Ultimate Oppurtunist. He's smart enough to be really sneaky and hide in a closet or something like that to surprise his opponent.

Ladder - Jericho. He has a great track record in ladder matches and has beat HBK, who is supposed to be pretty good in these things. The athleticism of Y2J will be perfect for this match.

Spin the Wheel - Lance Storm. Pretty much because he was the last one left for me. He should fair pretty well in this though. He's versatile enough to succeed in a variety of matches.

Ironman (30, 45, 60 mins)- Bret Hart

This is basically for the same reason I have given for Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and for Misawa. The man can go for an hour and he’s been involved in this type of match in the past. He has the durability and enough resiliency to survive here.

Submission- Chris Benoit

Besides Bret, Benoit is the best submission guy on the team. He’s won many matches via submission. And he uses the crossface which is a devastating submission move. In all of the years I watched Benoit wrestle, I don’t remember many times that wrestlers didn’t tap out. And I ask you all to please, when you post in his match, to not get his personal life and professional life mixed up. I know that what he did was a horrible thing, but we should only focus on what he did as a wrestler here, not what he did to his wife, son, and himself.

Falls Count Anywhere- Lance Storm

It was either Lance or Jericho for this one and I obviously went with Lance here. I don’t think you need to be some great wrestler in order to compete in this type of match. Lance IS a great wrestler, so he shouldn’t have too much trouble as this is probable the easiest match if not the second easiest in the Olympics.

Ladder / MITB Match- Edge

This was a pretty easy choice. He has much more experience in this type of match than everyone else save for Chris Jericho, and I’m not even sure about that. His win/loss record may not be great but he has won his fair share of ladder matches.

Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal- Chris Jericho

I was going to go with Lance in this match at first, but then I switched my mind. This match can by any match so there has to be a versatile wrestler in it. That doesn’t mean that I don’t think Storm isn’t versatile, because he is, but it means that I think Jericho is much more versatile and should do better here.

MITB Ladder Match: Chris Jericho

Easiest choice for Team Canada, and anyone who says any different is wrong. Edge lost to John Cena in a laddery type match (TLC) and needed a lot of help to beat The Undertaker. Not exactly ladder specialists and not exactly something to take pride in. Not to mention that the last time he was in a MITB match, he was unable to finish the bout. Edge may have been in a lot of ladder matches, but he's not exactly packing the best track record. Jericho, on the other hand, has beaten Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, and Christian in ladder matches, and has a TLC victory under his belt (a TLC victory where his partner, Benoit, spent a good portion of the match out of action). Sure, he just lost a TLC match, but he was handicapped there. Big Show as a partner? Ha! I just can't help but feel the men Jericho has beaten in individual ladder matches absolve him of that loss and put him over a guy lost to Cena in a ladder match and needed an army to beat Taker in one. Oh, and Jericho has lost two MITB matches... but at least he finished both without having to call it an evening due to injury.

Ironman: Chris Benoit

Benoit can go long. He's a machine. But picking him for the Ironman instead of the Submission event? I must be crazy, right? WRONG. Benoit should be picked as a reaction to Michaels likely taking the USA Ironman spot. Everyone will pick Michaels over Bret, but Benoit will stand a better chance. Michaels doesn't have the best record against Benoit.

Submission: Bret Hart

The Sharpshooter makes people tap out. Big names. They submit to him. Simple? Oui, as the French Canadians say.

Falls Count Anywhere: Edge

'Cause he's a bigger threat than Storm (although some ECW marks will disgree... what do they know?) and can do well in these kinds of matches.

Spin the Wheel: Storm

Why didn't we pick Christian? Dude's the big smark darling these days. Could have been easy votes. We're gonna lose this one.

If there is one thought you should leave this post with, it's this:

Pick Benoit for the Ironman event if you want Canada to stand a chance!

Chris Jericho
Bret Hart
Chris Benoit
Edge
Lance Storm

Wow Team Canada is one hell of a team. Let's get to who does what.

Ironman - Bret Hart Not many people have done well in Iron Man matches or even competed in them, but Bret is one of those men. While it may be overrated in my opinion, he was in the best and most famous Iron Man match against Shawn Michaels. Not to mention the fact that he is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and you want a great wrestler in an Iron Man match.

Submission - Chris Benoit Think what you may about Chris as a person, but the man is a technical master in the ring. He should be a formidable opponent against anyone put in his way.

Falls Count Anywhere - Chris Jericho I really had no idea if I was going to put Jericho or Storm here, but I ended up going with Jericho. Why? I couldn't really tell you. Both guys were in the original ECW, so they can handle gimmick matches. I'll put the smaller Jericho in the match where he is more likely to run around the arena.

Ladder / MITB Match - Edge Is anyone better in these than Edge? I almost put him in the Falls Count Anywhere as the Ultimate Opportunist, but he is way too good in ladder matches to not have him in here. He has the psychology of the match down and knows how to hurt his opponents.

Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal - Lance Storm A very underrated wrestler and a veteran of the original ECW. Those two facts should make him more than capable in any match that the wheel may put Storm in.

Simple? Oui.

I wish I could just put x2 for this, and have it count, but I cannot. This is what I would have my match for. Jericho I dont think has ever lost a ladder match besides MITB. Benoit already has beat Michaels in a long match at WM XX, while having to face Triple H as well. Edge is incredibly sneak and the Falls Count Anywhere match is key for that. Bret Hart has THE BEST submission move in all of wrestling, and Lance Storm got in over Christian.

Ironman

Chris Beniot

I think that Chris Benoit would be the best choice for the Iron Man Match, he competed two in his career, one in 2000 and the other in 2003; he won both of them. This gives him an edge over Bret Hart, who competed in one against Shawn Michaels in 1996 in a losing effort.

Submission

Bret Hart

I think Bret Hart is the ideal choice for this match. This man defined the submission match; all of his offense and defense centered around the sharpshooter. Bret would methodically pick his opponents apart to the point that when he did lock them into his signature finisher they were already worn down to the point that they had no chance of surviving.

Falls Count Anywhere

Chris Jericho

Jericho would be great at this match; he can use his knowledge of the ring surroundings to his advantage. Not only is he innovative at using his surroundings as a natural weapon, but his can utilize his own offense to cause additional damage. The codebreaker can debilitate an opponent from out of nowhere, cutting their momentum in half, and the liontamer can be the nail- in- the –coffin, even for opponents twice Jericho’s size.

Ladder

Edge

Edge could have fit in a number of these events; however, the ladder match is one of his main specialties. Edge has the highest win percentage in ladder matches out of anyone in Team Canada. He also has a higher win percentage in ladder matches than the majority of the wrestlers competing in the event.

Spin The Wheel

Lance Storm

Storm’s best game is submissions. The problem is, he’s not nearly as good as Bret Hart, nor is he better than any of his teammates at their specialties so he’s stuck as the odd man out. Storm is a weak brawler, which may cause a problem if he gets stuck with a cage match or a No DQ match.

This was probably the most easy one I've done so far. I mean you can just look at the names and just know who is going where with out hesitation supposedly.

Ironman (30, 45, 60 mins) Bret Hart has already competed in this one and it only make since to put him in it.

Submission Chris Jericho Anyone could go here but I just figure that Jericho would be better has Benoit will go in the next match.

Falls Count Anywhere Chris Benoit Benoit can take any pain and he will do whatever it takes to win and it just feels like this would be good for him.

Ladder / MITB Match Edge I thought of putting Jericho here but everyone knows about Edge's history with Ladder matches so I figure why not.! Join the band wagon for edge here.

Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Lance Storm as much as I am fan of Lance I just don't think he is really that talented to put in any other match. With Yoko and Kishi might be in this match. Lance will just have to out wrestle these big men but still depend on the match type though.

Why does it make sense to put Bret Hart in the Iron Man Match when his teammate, Chris Benoit has competed in two?

You do realize there has been more than one Iron Man Match, correct?

The first was against Kurt Angle in a submission iron man match

Chris Benoit was able to beat Kurt Angle in overtime to win this 30 minute match. Benoit is tied for the third most iron man matches ever behind Angle who has only won one of four, and AJ Styles who is not in this.

He next beat Triple H in a title match in regulation in an iron man match, proving his dominance in these type of matches.

Ironman (30, 45, 60 mins) - Chris Benoit

I was going to put Hart here, but I have been convinced that Benoit is the much better choice for the Ironman Match. Benoit has the tools to win this type of match and will be the best option for Team Canada.

Submission - Bret Hart

Easy choice here. The Sharpshooter is one of the best submission moves ever and rarely does it not work when Hart puts it on an opponent. In almost every match Bret has, he works on the wrestler in relation to the sharpshooter so that it does more damage to them in the end. The perfect choice here.

Falls Count Anywhere - Edge

Again, the perfect choice because of his hardcore abilities as well as his ability to utilize the environment around him. Edge has been through violent matches and has been through matches that have led to all around the arena so his experience is crucial for this match.

Ladder / MITB Match - Chris Jericho

It just seems like Team Canada is fitting these match types like a glove. Jericho is perfect for the ladder match. He has tons of experience in them and also success in them so why not put him in the match that he'll excel the most in.

Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal - Lance Storm

Basically, process of elimination, but I still think Storm will do well here. He's seems like a versatile wrestler and one that can adapt to most match types, which is needed here. He has experience in alot of different matches so that should help him here as well.
