NFL Wild Card Week LD

Why are the falcons playing right into the Giants hands on these 4 downs? QB sneaked against the Giants is asking to fail.

I agree. Falcons don't deserve this win. Smith is showing too much Faith in his Offensive Line. If it didn't work once, what makes him think it was gonna work a second time?

Points are HARD to come by, especially in a ROAD Playoff game. Smith pretty much denied 6 points and now he's down by 15. Get rid of this guy....

Get rid of him? Sure, as long as you can name a gut that is an obvious upgrade, & who they would stand a real legit chance of landing.

My bad. Probably jus my anger speaking. It's just so frustrating to see teams waste points in a Road Playoff Game. It's really sad cause in effect they're getting shut out.

The previous two teams that knocked Ryan and the Falcons out of the playoffs both went to the Super Bowl with Green Bay winning it last year.

Yep, that TD is the end of the game. I've been relatively quiet for this season but as I've watched I've noticed a lot of shit that needs to be changed. First, I like Matt Ryan, nice personality, but that man is simply not a Playoff QB. Oh, he'll win some games and get you there but much like Tony Romo, he just can't make the plays that a QB is supposed to make. Such as on the 2 failed QB sneaks, then when pressured, he never looks down field or step up in the pocket just looking for a quick way out. Eli just showed on the TD a few minutes ago how a QB should act. He was pressured then stepped up to make a play. I'll give Matt one more year but if he can't get it together, it's time to think about getting someone new who can do the job in the regular AND postseason.

Next, the day when someone makes Mike Mularkey their new coach, will be a happy day indeed for me. That is one of the most unimaginative offensive coordinators I've ever seen. From the failed QB sneaks to giving it to Turner again and again and again when it clearly won't work. You would think with versatile guys like Snelling and Rodriguez who can catch screens or take a toss for a good 3 or 4 yards would get the ball in the short yardage situations but NO, it's always pound it up the middle with Turner when everyone and their grandmother knows that is the play. Or how about taking a chance with Julio down the field, what the hell did we get him for if we won't even use him like he should be? There were plenty chances in where the Falcons could have max protect or PA and take a chance down deep but instead went conservative with a run. We aren't the Steelers or Ravens, hell we aren't even the 49ers. We don't have that type of defense or team in general. OPEN UP THE FUCKING FIELD!

Third, we clearly need a safety that can do his fucking job. Thomas DeCoud is trying to give Chris Crocker a run for his money with this piss poor display today. I love our line, I especially love our linebackers, I even somewhat like our cornerbacks (it's a shame that Grimes couldn't play today) even though Robinson isn't living up to that big ass contract we gave him 2 years ago. Shutdown defender my ass, but we have a glaring need of safety and another DB. Whew, that felt good to get out, I probably didn't even cover all the faults too.

Hopefully Aaron Ross can play next week. I'm enjoying this beat down we (the Giants) are putting on Atlanta, but if Ross doesn't play, than that really cuts out the work they have to do to stop Green Bay and Rodgers.

I would be all for them going out & finding a new OC, with this much talent on offensive they shouldn't be having this much trouble putting pts. on the board, this game should be much closer than it is right now.

You look at the Falcons and think that with Ryan, White, Jones, and Gonzalez they are a passing team, but that is not the case. This is still a running football team and all season long the team has struggled when they couldn't run the ball. Matt Ryan isn't a guy like Rodgers, Brees, Stafford, Brady, etc.. who can throw the ball 40+ times and have a lot of success on a consistent basis.

On a side note - poor Sam Bradford. ANOTHER offensive coordinator. Not sure how they expect this guy to progress if they plan on changing the offense every year

It's not about passing a lot or running it. It's about calling a good play and making one. One of the big reasons why Brees is so good is b/c of the play calling and getting their ATHLETES involved. Michael Turner is not a man who is going to make people miss. He'll just do his best to try and pounded it in. Snelling and Rodgers however can, I can't even count how many times we've failed this year on short yardage situations just giving it to Turner.

Also, all we do is run it on first down which puts us in a whole on 2nd and 3rd which we clearly won't get out of. How about a short 4 or 5 yard pass on first or maybe a screen, just ANYTHING other than generic run up the middle as always. One of the biggest reasons why Turner has so many yards is when we don't use him as much until the latter half of the game. Keep him rested until the late 3rd and 4th and the defense will damn sure be tired then, and ONLY then, do you run it up the middle.

At this point, I'm even considering trading Matt Ryan. I really like the guy, a lot, but he just can't get the job done when you need him too. He'll get fidgety when the pressure is on, can't maintain composure, or move in the pocket to make a play. We have the talent to win just need 2 very important things. An OC that can call good plays and a QB that can execute them when the lights are bright.

I still like the people who try and tell me that Eli doesn't have a lot of weapons at receiver. I'd say the Giants have one of the better receiving groups in the league. Victor Cruz is a beast especially after the catch, Hakeem Nicks is extremely talented and has had back to back 1,000 yard receiving seasons, and Mario Manningham when healthy is a great play maker and deep threat.

So Matt Ryan is so overrated it isn't even funny. Elite? My ass. Now time to watch a Steelers thumping...

Giants were not a team I wanted coming to Lambeu, I thought they were the team that stood the best chance of ending our undefeated season earlier this year, I still think they stand a legit chance at beating us.

No shit? I've always assumed he'd gotten atleast a few with those Chiefs teams that had Trent Green and Priest Holmes

Yeah I was pretty surprised when they mentioned that too.

I think that if Aaron Ross plays next week, than it will have a major difference on the game next week. Even though Ross is obviously not a Revis/Bailey type CB, but he is essential on the Giants defense. I feel like if the Giants defense can step up next week, and pressure Rodgers consistently than they will win. I'm honestly not too worries about their offense against a weak Packers defense.

Looking ahead, I'm a big fan of RG III (even though most fans over here wouldn't like it giving what happened to Vick). If not him, I say give the Green Bay backup QB the money in the offseason. He looks like he's ready to start.

Flynns gonna get starter money. Some idiot like Dan Snyder will put deep cash into him even though he wouldn't have the same weapons in Washington.
