NFL Draft 2010

Tebow's intangibles made him a round 1 player, I'm not saying QB, but the dude's going to be good at doing something. Alualu really has one slot to fill and was a big reach at that point because I don't see him being able to fill in another position like Tebow. Not to mention, Tebow helps the atmosphere at Denver. He does a whole lot more by then just being a player.

I'm hearing the Saints 32nd pick (Patrick Robinson) + Jamall Brown + either a 2nd or a 3rd for Haynesworth and its starting to gain some steam...

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Chargers are getting some hate for jumping up to get Ryan Matthews, I like the move, it took a good nights sleep for it to grow on me, but I think we made the right choice, and for those who say we overpaid.

We traded a:
First-round pick (No. 28)
Second-round pick (No. 40)
Fourth-round pick (No. 126)
and Linebacker Tim Dobbins

for a:
First-round pick (No. 12): Ryan Mathews
Fourth-round pick (No. 110)
Sixth-round pick (No. 173)

So, essentially we swapped 1st round picks (jumping up 16 spots) in exchange for a 2nd round pick; swapped 4th round picks (jumping up 16 spots again); and traded a former 5th round pick who wasn't a starter in Dobbins for a 6th round pick.

Matthews will be ready to step in right away, and L.T will be forgotten quickly in San Diego ( I <3 L.T.) with Sproles and Matthews splitting work, all in all I'm pumped to see what goes down today.

Ok,so draft a developmental player in the first round just because he might be able to play another position and is a good person. Gotcha.

If the Jags would have somehow been able to aquire a 2nd round pick and Tebow was on the board, without a doubt, take him. But you don't draft a developmental guy in the 1st round.

I agree. Tebow has some great things going for him. He's a winner, a leader and seems willing to do whatever it takes to win but he is not a first round pick. Maybe late second round, definitely not later than round 3.
I would let him babysit my children but I wouldn't waste a first round pick on him. Damn you Denver!

All Qb's in the first should still be developmental, but that's not what I was talking about when they picked him. Tebow does so much more for the Bronco's right now then just being a player, to be honest their questionable pick in my mind was Thomas. I know they were effy getting another ego at Wide Receiver but all the best receivers have that swag about them.

SSC I think the Bolts made a good trade. If Matthews was the guy and if they were worried about him not making it to 28 and they had a trade partner then it makes sense. Matthews in my mind was the best every down back in the draft and he was a need for the Bolts.

MLB, do you think the Skins ship Haynesworth today? I know Tennessee is a likely destination and I know the Vikes talked (I really don't want him) to the Skins as well.

I find it amazing how controversial Tebow really is. What is truly amazing is that it all predicates from "experts" questioning his throwing motion. That is the entire thing. I guess you could also say that those who haven't seen him enough think that his game is reliant on his legs, but if you watch Florida football like I do, you know that doesn't have to be the case.

This is a kid who is 6'3" 240 pounds. He can take a hit in the pocket so he isn't the type to be afraid to stay in and make a throw. Arm strength isn't much of a question because if you watch him, you know he has a very strong arm with a strong body behind it. He's not Jamarcus Russell either in that he can actually throw a ball TO a receiver, at a 70 percent clip at that. Perhaps I'm a little biased, but I believe he has the skillset to succeed as a quarterback in the NFL. Then factor in the fact that I can't imagine any kid that will work harder at becoming a success than Tebow and I think you have the formula for success.

Of course, we all know Tebow has a great head on his shoulders and is an incredible leader. Watch youtube videos of Tebow firing up his team. The guy is MADE to be a qb with that personality. He WANTS the pressure of being a qb. He doesn't mind the media and will be a great representation for the Denver organization.

The entire issue with Tebow is his delivery and the fact that he made a name for himself in his first 2 years with his legs. I understand those concerns, but knowing Tebow, I don't think anything will stand in his way of getting better, becoming a starter, and being an NFL success. Hate him for being a crazy Christian, but don't hate him for what he does on a football field, because when he steps out there, there's few that are "gamers" like Tebow.

You draft players like Tebow because he's a leader, good teammate and he's positive. He wants to learn and succeed at QB. That's good enough in my book to warrant a late first round pick.

Exactly.

And I don't know about Big Al. I won't believe he's being traded till he's traded, but unless someone's trading the house for him (Like that Saints trade) there's no way I can justify it.

Well, as a Saints fan, I sure as shit don't like it.

If we need a DT (which we do), then trade up in the 2nd Round and draft Lamarr Houston or Linval Joseph. Don't go blowing all your chips on this overpaid, overhyped piece of shit.

Something to ponder:

Who's a bigger idiot, Mike Holmgren or Rams GM Billy Devaney?

Holmgren declined to delve into specifics as far as his offer to the Rams, but indicated he would be willing to part with most -- but likely not all -- of the Browns' 10 picks and perhaps a pick or picks next year for the consensus No. 1 quarterback in this year's draft. Holmgren, however, is not optimistic that the Rams will pull the trigger on a trade. "They shouldn't do it," he said. "They need a quarterback more than anyone in the world."

That'd be good for Alex Smith. As he gets more comfortable, he has the potential to be good and we all know a TE is a QB's best friend. That'd help him out immensely, and leave Crabtree as the deep threat.

Their goign fuckin' crazy for these hype packages/opening segments of the draft, man. Makin' it all epic and shit. They act like it only happens every 10 years or something. XD

I have the Rams taking Golden Tate, but I think there best move is moving back. Doesn't look like that is happening, as the pick is in.

Benn would be better as Avery and Tate are similar, but I think Gronkowski from Arizona wouldn't be terrible as well.
