NFL Week 14 LD

As a Canadian sports fan, I don't see ESPN very often, as we get our own version, TSN, up here. As such, I was not that familiar with Colin Cowherd until in took a trip to Boston back in October. I saw some talk show on ESPN with him, and I thought the guy was a complete asshole. Is he usually that bad, or did I catch him on a bad day?

You probably caught him on a good day, if that answers your question.

Sunday Night Football is going to be a an interesting one for me. Standard league scoring, who do you think is going to win? Murray and Bradshaw + 18 vs Cruz and Bryant?

It's one thing to be an idiot. It's something else to be simply uninformed. And it's something yet again to be ignorant and rude. He was a perfect hybrid of all three on the show I saw.

Like the old saying goes... better to be lucky than it is to be good.

Both the Saints and my man Tebow couldn't have been more lucky today. Saints, while getting fucked by the refs, nearly blew the game against the Titans because of AWFUL tackling, and also benefit heavily from the 49ers loss. And of course, someone is looking down on Tebow smiling and completely trolling all his detractors. I fucking love it.

And now, it's Giants turn to put down the ass whoopin' of a life time on the Cowturds.

Denver vs. New England next week.

Have we reached the point where we wouldn't be shocked if Denver won?

Personally, I have not yet reached that point. I would be absolutely flabbergasted to see the Broncos beat the Patriots next week.

The thing is, the Patriots have become pretty porous and weak on defense this season but Denver, despite the unquestionable positive impact of Tebow, are still not what I would all an explosive offense. They are more of a grinding type of offensive who can win the games which are fought in the trenches. They will probably score some points against New England, because their defense is highly suspect. But the thing is, Denver will be unable to stop their potent offense. NE is going to score 30+ points and I don't think Denver will be able to prevent this. And even with the Swiss cheese defense of the Patriots, I simply don't think a Tebow lead attack will be able to put up these types of numbers.

I am really pleased to see the success Tebow has enjoyed the last couple of months, despite all of the haters, but frankly, I think it's time for a little dose of reality next week, compliments of one Tom Brady.

I think so. That's not to say I believe Denver WILL win, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them win.

I'd be flabbergasted. It's one thing to gut out a hard fought victory in overtime against a team featuring a second string quarterback. It's quite another thing to stop the offensive barrage of the Patriots. Tebow should be commended for the magic he has been working for the last couple of months, but the last time I checked, he didn't play defense. And his offensive style won't allow the type of numbers which will be required to outscore the Pats.

Na I'd be pretty shocked. This Tebow run is fun and they've beaten some pretty good teams, but I'd be shocked if they were able to beat one of the elites like New England. Belichick wouldn't allow it.

The fact that this is even up for discussion and I'm not getting laughed out of here for suggesting it speaks volumes about how impressive this run has been, given how bad they were when Tebow first started out.

I have a ton of respect for what they've done over in Denver. That required hard work, all around. Tebow's a winner, though.

Anybody watching the 'Boys vs the G-Men?

I'm well aware of that fact. First of all, I think that was an anomaly. Secondly, even that won't be enough against the Pats, even if they can somehow repeat their feat.

Statistically speaking there is no reason to consider the Patriots defense superior to the Vikings. The Patriots have only scored more than 35 points 3 times out of 14 games.

Trust me, I watched the game this afternoon, and I have no delusions of grandeur regarding the Patriots' defense. But statistics aside, I can state with confidence that I would take any aspect of their game over the Vikings, on either side of the ball.
