NFL AND NCAAF bar room thread

Its hard for me to imagine this Adrian Peterson situation being handled more fucking idiotically. You realize the more you openly bitch and refuse in public press, the harder and harder itll be for them to give you what you want??

Every one of these conversations should have been held in private. He and his agent are doing him zero favors whatsoever.

I was never a huge AP fan, him being an OU alum and then after his negative comments on homosexuality, but this entire fiasco has just made me hate the guy. He refuses to accept responsibility for his actions, he keeps trying to play the victim and insisting he has done nothing wrong, that the media is simply trying to demonize him. I almost feel bad for Minnesota fans, being forced to listen to his delusional garbage. Fuck him and his camel riding ass.

His agent is in desperation mode, and basically has killed any hope of Minnesota trading him. They don't want to trade him first and foremost, second of all they have ZERO leverage, and finally the way Peterson and his agent are going now, they're killing any market for trading him. The Vikes want a 1st round pick if they're gonna do it. And no one will give up a first for him. Simple as that.

So basically Peterson has 2 choices, suck it up and play for the Vikes and $13 million, poor him, or sit out a year and be out of the league for essentially 2 years, get fined every day he's not at training camp, and IF the Vikings decided to release him then, what market is there for a 31 year old running back out of the league for 2 years? He ain't gonna get paid shit.

He used to be my favorite player. Just like Randy Moss used to be my favorite player. Why does Minnesota always get the transcended players that happen to be fucking head cases?

So Greg Hardy is suspended 10 games for being accused of something, not being convicted.

That's cool, you can be suspended the majority of the year for being accused of something. Ask Big Ben.

Also, Clay said he was taking Tebow in the first round in the AOE draft :lmao: not sure if will actually happen, but its chuckle-worthy

I still haven't listened to that one :(

Tebow can run, and that keeps defenses honest for the deep routes Chip likes. I'm slightly worried about his ability to make the quick reads needed for that offense, but he has the tools for that offense

ALSO

according to reports, the Vikings have given everyone ten days to offer a decent package for AP. If he is still on the team by the end of the draft, they are keeping him. The Bucs are said to be sincerely in the running for him.

the 1st pick of the second round, the 1st in the third and 1st in the fourth? And they take Winston at the top, and then have AP in the backfield?

It's only going to get worse and worse. It's the "feminist" World we live in today. Feminism today doesn't strive for women equality; it strives for the emasculation of men and all around superiority. And they're winning and will continue to do so. But alas... this convo doesn't belong in this thread I guess, lol.

As a Saints fan it wouldn't worry me honestly. The Bucs offensive line is trash, defense is mediocre, Lovie Smith will never put a great offense together, etc. Not to mention AP hit the 30 wall, will be rusty, and Winston is no guarantee to be a success. I actually hope Tampa does throw the farm to get AP.

The Bucs got a shitty offensive line, but if Tampa gets Winston and AP they could possibly have the best offense in the division. When you have Vincent Jackson, and a emerging Mike Evans stretching the field and future HOF Running back and certified piece of shit AP in your backfield it gives the rookie QB (who's also a piece of shit character wise) a lot of room to grow and develop.

But then again this is Tampa Bay. They'll hopefully stink up the joint like they usually do.

Shit I forgot about those receivers, lol. I think Jackson has lost a step though, thankfully. It does scream massive amounts of potential, I won't deny that, but I'll keep faith that Tampa will remain a joke until proven otherwise.

Who do you root for, Pancake? The Dolphins?

I'm a Bears fan first, Dolphins second. Though I think this year given Chicago's schedule and lack of defensive improvements in the offseason (other than MacDonald who you could argue is the best defensive player in Chicago now) I might just go and cry myself to sleep every night this football season.

JUST AS I SAID ON THE NEWEST EPISODE OF WRESTLING WARS PODCAST

I just mentioned it here because Ty mocked me for saying I would toss a 5th or 6th rounder out to grab him.

And will continue to do so. While you're busy fucking around with third string QB's, I'll continue putting together a Dynasty.

I don't think Tampa would mortgage that much of their draft for Peterson, especially since Tampa is taking a QB #1 overall. That doesn't exactly read "WIN NOW" mode for Tampa. Plus as said, their offensive line is atrocious.

They need help on Defense. They were ranked 28th in passing defense, 25th in scoring allowed, they were 14th in rushing defense so that's half decent, but not enough to shore up the passing defense side. They need a lot more than a RB priced at those picks and $13 million.

One of the few times I'll agree with an Aints fan, but just like jmt I do too hope Tampa gives up a lot to get Peterson. Although, there also have been reports that the Falcons are interested in him too, and I don't know why considering we just got rid of Steven Jackson. Why would we want the same problems at RB when we can just draft Gurley or Gordon in the 2nd Round?

That's rough, man. I'd argue no fanbase in the NFL has felt more disappointment in the last 10 years than the Bears. When Cutler went there, I like everyone else thought the Bears were going to become this powerhouse contender for many years to come, and man... it's just been a disaster.

The Dolphins are at least on the up-and-up. In fact, I'd say they've had the best offseason of any team thus far.

Well look who it is.

I hope you guys get Gordon in the 2nd Round myself, aka Ron Dayne 2.0. As Norcs and Ty pointed out on their podcast... all Wisconsin RBs fail in the NFL.

I'd be afraid if you guys snagged up Gurley though. He's the biggest question mark in the draft but you just know if the injury doesn't slow him down (which at his age it most likely won't as long as he's not rushed back), you just know he's going be a force to reckon with. I do not want him in our division, especially on the shitty ass Falcons.

And please, let ATL get that Adrian Peterson contract. That would be glorious.

I've been busy enjoying this NBA season (Go Hawks!) while finishing up my degree, but I've missed you jmt and I look forward to sweeping the Aints again this year.

I'm a bit worried about Gordon too as that Wisconsin RB stigma is pretty strong, but I'll still take him over Mark Ingram any day. I really want Gurley though, my favorite player in college this year who got the roughest end of a shaft that I've ever seen. I hope he comes in with the biggest chip on his shoulder and destroys defenses in the NFL while also being on the Falcons. I also hope the Aints send that "old midget" out the door like they did Graham.

That's awesome, man. Good luck on both (sincerely).

Oh man I had a dream the other night, more like a nightmare, that the Saints traded Drew Brees to the Carolina Panthers for just shitty draft picks. I was on the verge of tears in the dream. :lmao:

Brees definitely isn't going anywhere though, especially this year. He's still one of the best QBs in the league and the fact is if he had a good OLine last year to protect him, the Saints would have finished much better than they did.

My draft aspirations, I want either Kevin White or Dorial Green-Beckham at WR, and Eric Kendricks out of UCLA at Linebacker. Then go OLine/CB heavy with the rest of the draft. Of course, I won't get anything I want, but if I had it my way, that's the route the Saints would take.

Thanks, on the subject of both, I can say it's been a long time coming.

Your nightmare sounds like a very pleasant dream to me. I really want Vic Beasley to fall to us in the draft. If you haven't been following, he's been campaigning very heavily for the Falcons to get him and from what I've seen the dude is pretty good and we need all the help we can get on defense. I also want Gurley, Devin Funchess for WR/TE if we can and then shore up the O and D Line the rest of the draft.

Fans over at SaintsReport are obsessed with Vic Beasley. I'd say he's the guy Saints fans want most, and I certainly can see why. He's a fucking monster and our DLine was a major disappointment last year after being so good the year before. So I too would be pretty excited if he falls to us, but I don't see that happening. Hopefully someone snags him before the Falcunts do.

If Gurley fell to the 2nd that'd be a miracle for the Falcons. There are mocks that have the Jets taking him at 6. Hell I'm not at all against that move if the QBs are gone and there's nobody that's at a position of need available.

I'm gonna go on a mini tangent here, so feel free to ignore this if you like.

Fuck Jay Cutler.

No seriously, Jay Cutler can eat a bag of floppy, sweat dripped dicks. My 21+ years of being alive and rooting for the team I have never seen a player in Chicago that inspired so much hope and have pissed it all away like Don't Care Cutler. I remember back in high school when Jay was a Denver Quarterback, he was the young gun slinger who was throwing on the run, making this amazing plays and being the best quarterback in the AFC West. I remember going "Wow, I wish Sexy Rexy or Kyle Orton could do that."

As fate would fucking have it, Josh McDaniels comes in and stinks up the joint. He stinks up the joint bad so bad it caused beef with the teams star quarterback. Sure the fuck enough, Chicago gives up an arm and a leg for Jay and for once. Once in my fucking life Chicago has a quarterback who I could get behind. A quarterback that won't go to the Superbowl and fuddle hand offs or try and chuck the ball 50 yards to nobody. This was it, this was the guy who could put all the pieces together.

Then Lovie Smith and Ron Turner stunk up the fucking place. I fucking forgot no matter how good Jay was in Mike Shannahan's zone blocking schemes, it means jackshit when Ron Turner wants to run screen passes and counter runs all day long. Season debut Cutler threw like 6 picks he finished the league throwing more interceptions than Eli Manning.

Our great white hope was a bum and played like Rex Grossman if Rex Grossman knew how to throw an accurate pass sometimes. The worst part is after a season where he was injured for half the year we gave him a mega contract that is going to keep us stuck with him for at least 4 years.

But it's all good, Forte broke an NFL record for Runningback receptions. We got that going, which is nice.

You should just draft a good quarterback. I mean what's so hard about it.....

Inside jokes are fun.

BREAKING: Jacksonville Jaguars 1st-round pick Dante Fowler suffers a torn ACL in first practice and will miss the entire season. (via Adam Schefter)

On the bright side, at least no one in Jacksonville had gotten their hopes up anyway.
