NFL AND NCAAF bar room thread

I forever worry about Samuel Bradford's knees in any offense. I'd worry about any QB's knees after multiple ACL injuries. When healthy he's an upgrade over Foles, hence why the Eagles had to give up more picks for him, but still it's a risk. Of course there's still a chance Bradford is traded for Mariotta.

Antonio Cromartie has come home to the Jets after a one year hiatus. Just like Revis came home to the Jets after a 2 year hiatus. Add in Buster Skrine and a returning from injury Dee Milliner and the crappy corner corps of 2014 has become one of the better corner corps in all of the NFL. Now all the Jets need are a safety and a QB (one of those is easier to find than the other...)

Who is the Jets starting running back? Ivory or Powell? Or are they looking to upgrade?

I saw they just signed Marcus Gilchrest. He isn't a great safety, but he is solid. If Fitzpatrick comes back from his broken tibia, he will be a decent short term option while the Jets can try to build for the future at QB.

Ivory. Powell is a pass-blocking back. They'll probably find someone mid-draft to add to the group too. That or CJ Spiller is still available. Reunite him with Fitzpatrick and Chan Gailey.

I love the Fitzpatrick trade. He was better than people give him credit for last year, and he was really good for Chan Gailey in Buffalo.

This is what happens when you have $60 Million in cap space, you spend a lot of money and your team looks really damn good right away.

BUT HE ISNT THO

Were is JMT. Saints are making ALL the moves.

Kenny "Skills" to Miami in a trade for Donnel Ellerbe. Great trade for both sides.

Spiller could be a great addition, if his health holds up.

I can't wait to see him get WAY fucking over drafted in a bunch of Fantasy leagues.

Perfect timing. Pretty quick after I say that he goes to NO, who is in the midst of a fire sale.

Maybe the Jets could finagle Adrian Peterson out of Minnesota. That or maybe they get a runner at 6.

I don't get the move, considering the thought was that Ellerbe was getting cut. Why give up a cheap asset for someone getting cut that's overpaid anyway?

NO's moves scream fire-sale to me. I think they should be careful Brees may end up wanting out....... OOOH Brees and their 1st for the 6th pick (and another pick if it takes that)? I can dream right? Hell that'd be a bit of an upgrade over Geno Fitzpatrick.

No need to go for a back at 6. The draft runs probably ten deep on RBs this year. Whomever is left out of Amari Cooper and Kev White would be a solid grab for you guys.

I enjoy how the Billz are going into the season with Matt Cassell like that's all good.

I HATE the Kenny Stills trade. Kenny is dirt cheap and our 3rd, possibly 2nd best wide receiver. Kid has all the potential in the World and we just give him away.

This offseason makes me want to pull my hair out. Not only are the Saints getting rid of some of my favorite players, but they're getting guys who were injured most of last year to replace them. I just don't get it.

All I know is that all these moves better lead to IMMEDIATE success, otherwise both Payton and Loomis can kick fucking rocks after next season.

Speaking of which, me and my buddy like to play a game were we think of semi-realistic trades that could get Colin Kapernick to go away from us.

How would you feel about Kapernick and a 2 or 3rd round pick for Brees?

That's probably the best offer we could get for him (I sure as hell want nothing to do with Jameis Winston), but I still can't take it. At least, not for now. Brees shouldn't be a trade option until next offseason when his contract really hits us, and when we really get to see what he has left in the tank during the 2015 season.

I knew there was gonna be a reason to use this GIF today.

I wouldn't want Winston either. THe guy barely survived at a major college with people there to keep an eye on him all the time. Give him millions of dollars and less supervision and it could be a disaster.

:lmao:

"Barely survived" damn him and that extra soda he got at burger king!!

By barely survived, do you mean doing absolutely nothing he would ever get in trouble for at the NFL level?

Winston's "character issues" are one of the most wildly overblown draft stories ive ever seen.

Most character issue guys are just guys who do stupid college age shit or smoke pot. Most of those guys don't have alleged sexual assault cases against them though.

And probably should.

Look, he was aquitted, TWICE, and facts came out that the girl didnt have an issue with said events of the evening until she realized she might be able to get paid for them.

I am not ready for a country were someone accusing you of something later found to be false and show to be a clear money grab makes you have "character issues" so everyone needs to fucking stop. I talk about things that were actually proven to have happened, things he was found not guilty of are irrelevant. Oh, well I chose to accuse Winston of being an illegal unicorn farmer, so I guess it has some merit in the discussion?

Its no longer "alleged" he was found not guilty, and it was proven his accuser asked for 2 million to keep queit before it was ever made an issue, RIGHT before he was to win the heisman and the National Championship.

I agree on the sexual assault part. The more I heard about it the more it sounded made up. The other stuff though, not so much. I'm not saying Mariota is a much better option, but I wouldn't go with Winston either.

Honestly they might realize that the best way to get prolonged success in the future is to blow it up a year early, and sell high on guys like Jimmy Graham. That and if they think Brees is done or nearing the end, better to kill it and start the rebuild now than to wait it out then start rebuilding, especially if they thought that the team as assembled was unable to surpass the likes of Seattle and Green Bay.

Are you that down on Kaepernick? I mean I know he isn't the greatest but he isn't the drizzling shits.

Hell if you put a a killer D and I think you can get to a Super Bowl with him (considering he got to a Super Bowl with a killer D just 3 years ago).

Kaepernick, the 15th, and a 4th for the 6th? If Mariotta is still there you got yourself a QB. I'd take Kaepernick and his team friendly contract. If he ends up sucking they'd cut him and won't owe him anything.

I remember going off on a big rant back in October on some dude in the sports section saying Winston raped that girl.

http://forums.wrestlezone.com/showthread.php?t=282945

I'm not going to read my rant again because it probably sounds pretty stupid, but not as stupid as the OP sounded surely.

I like Winston a lot. Mariota on the other hand I think is more on the RGIII range, although we still don't know how RGIII is going to turn out yet either. Winston I see more in the Cam Newton range...could be better, could be worse. Either way I like him,

Vikings released Greg Jennings :(.

I get it, two high priced receivers don't mix well with our cap. I do know he said he wanted to restructure to stay in Minnesota, guess they couldn't come to an agreement on that.

I was really hoping to see Wallace and Johnson on the outside, with Jennings in the slot where he made his mark in Green Bay.

49ers signed Reggie Bush. He'll be a decent back up to Hyde but Bush is on the downside of his career. He shows flashes when he's healthy but he was rarely healthy this past season.

I wouldn't classify Reggie as a back-up more as I would a "3rd Down Back." These guys have become very vital in the offenses we see today.

But yeah, I think it's a good pick-up for them. San Fran is the biggest mystery heading into next season IMO. No telling where they end up in that Wild Wild NFC West.

Or, well, ever.

He has played the full 16 only twice his entire carreer.

Not overly excited.
