NFL AND NCAAF bar room thread

Owen Daniels signed by Denver. Knows Kubiak's system, could play a decent Dallas Clark for Manning.

Vikings sign Shaun Hill.

Not real noteworthy but because I am a homer, I'm putting it here. Good solid backup for Teddy.

AJ Hawk signs with the Bengals.

Thank god, I didn't want the Vikings to get cute and sign another washed up Packer player.

I saw on Reddit that the Saints are potentially using their two first rounders to make a move toward Winston.

Shit has been crazy today.

I really like the Lions getting Ngata. Suh can't be replaced by one guy but Ngata may be the best they could have possibly gotten to help.

Assuming the dollars on the two years of the deal aren't much more than the wage minimum on a 9-year vet, I'm loving the Bengals bringing AJ Hawk back home to Southwestern Ohio.

They needed a smart veteran linebacker who fits their 4-3 and they really just need warm bodies at the position after the way they ravaged by injuries there last year. Between this deal, re-signing Maualuga, and putting a second round tender on Lamur, Cincy should be covered at LB even if Burfict's recovery is slower then expected.

Along with continuing to work on the in-house guys now, I assume Cincinnati's attention on the free agent market is now turned to bargain deals to help deepen the D-line.

Does this mean they are letting Fairley walk?

Not necessarily. It does mean they don't need to overpay for him though. If he gets a big offer from another team then they will just let him walk. Detroit could also switch to a 3-4 defense which would make Fairly more expendable. They are deep at linebacker so the personnel is there for them to make the switch.

This was in the NFL subreddit trash talking thread.

THE NEAT THING ABOUT THE JIMMY GRAHAM TRADE IS THAT BOTH HE AND SEATTLE USED TO PLAY BASKETBALL.

It made my day. All caps is from auto formatting in the thread.

I came in here earlier to ask if anyone had checked the Baton Rouge rooftops. I'm glad to see he's still with us.

The Graham trade is upsetting but I can at least somewhat understand it (I'm going to miss the hell out of him, though).

These Brees rumors and fucking Keenan Lewis now holding out is just... the organization looks like a disaster right now. The Brees shit better hold zero truth to it.

May mean the Lions are switching to a 3-4. Good get for them anyhow.

I can see Saints fans being infuriated, but I can see were the Saints were trying to go with it. Their cap situation is an absolute hot mess, Graham was hurt last year, and they got a first rounder and an above average center out of it.

Meanwhile, the Niners are a clear last place in their division. All teams in the division have gotten decidedly better, while the Niners have done nothing but lose players, to free agency, retirement, and the California legal system.
