Motaste Junk - Stop your brain thinking for 168 seconds

I nearly replied to the first post, that is all.

You could have, much of it still applies.

I couldn't find my old thread, probably because I didn't look, and it reminded me too much of when I was interesting enough to be on the radio anyway.

This thread continues because it's ridiculous name is easy to spot.

Things that are on my mind:

1. The American obsession with university sports is quite baffling to me. Though, that being said, none of them noticed that I nominated myself and came second in "College Athlete of the year" in the sports forum.

I get this a bit more now. I still think that coming second in a college athlete of the year award is a high ranking achievement.
2. I genuinely don't know what my opinion of Roy Hodgson is any more. I do know that I like other Liverpool fans less. Bring Back Benitez? Seriously?

Some things never change, although I suppose this is two ideas rather than 1 now.

3. IC25 said somewhere he was getting his avatar on a t-shirt. I got my avatar off a t-shirt I already have.

Still true.

4. I make quite obscure thread titles, so nobody ever posts in them. I nearly called this thread "23 years of living, and nothing means anything to me", but I thought better of it. It's still pretty obscure, but at least it makes a bit of sense.

I'm 24 now, otherwise little has changed.

5. I've been planning to actually post on the forums for a while. Today might be the day.

Well, I actually started thanks to the tournament, some 18 months after I said this.

More to follow, maybe.

I'm sure everyone is on tenterhooks.

Well i was going to reply two the first two points specificly.

1)I kind of get why Americans are obsessed with college sports, but at the same time think that they shouldn't have that much of an interest in it. I tend to keep up with U21 games and tournaments and the like just to see if there is any special talent coming up through(mainly because our youth programs tend to be dire in football). The fact you came second in that poll is just beautiful, and deserve a round of applause.

2) I was reading the thread like it was new, especially when I saw the point about Hodgson and Benitez assuming it was about England and a Benitez returning to the Kop after Dalglish was sacked. Although I do think Hodgson is a great appointment for England, if nothing else he has consistantly proven to be a man manager over a tactician and that is exactly what we need.

Since Rafa was sacked I'm pretty sure he has been rumoured to return everytime the managers seat has been available and I really think that would be a bad decision. I was surprised a Kenny's sacking, who the fuck sacks a manager that has won and Cup and got to another final? He should have been given just one more season at least seeing as he was still building his own team. I just hope you guys give Rodgers the time he will need to instill his philosphies on the team.

I read you loud and clear on both fronts. Hodgson has now won his first two games in charge, against reasonable opposition. Rafa can piss off. I just don't think the team looked like it was going anywhere under Dalglish. If you buy Downing and then play him right wing, you can't expect him to do well.

Downing let himself down big time for you guys, playing on the right and cutting inside was one of the major reasons he was such a success at Villa. I think everyone(including myself) has over rated Downing and unfortunetly didn't live up to the hype.

Is it weird that whenever someone adds proper before the word I read it in a Geordie accent?

Not really, I imagine loads of things in a scouse voice.

So, last night. First up, England game. My mate's dad was there, for some reason, and he got into a sort of semi-fight.Then I got chatting to a girl in the circle who could apparently speak Welsh. Turns out she went to one of my friend's weddings. I texted a different mate, and he was like "I remember her, she was fit", so I showed her the text, for reasons I don't fully understand.

Then we went out, really drunk, and I had my bag robbed in the pub (only noticed at closing time), it only had my cycling stuff in it though, but more on that later. I was cheered up somewhat by my flatmate accidentally tipping an entire kebab on a stranger on the bus though. I then got home and fell asleep on the landing, finally going to bed at like 5 in the morning.

Anyway, sitting at home today and get a phone call. A foreign sounding guy says he found my bag in a hedge, but he knows how much of a ball ache not having a passport can be, so he took it to his house. I didn't really get it, but when I got there, there was the most stereotypical looking French man in history with an excellent moustache, who had found my bag, with all my shit scattered about under a hedge, including some details about my old flat (how he got my number) and my Passport, which I've apparently been carting to work every day this week without knowing it. A very kind man, and as a token of gratitude I made a personal promise not to mock the French for 24 hours, which lasted about 6 hours until I opened a pack of onion flavoured crisps and said "it smells like a Frenchman".

Cool, where you planning? If you choose Newcastle we could start a sitcom.

My brother's a teacher. His head of department is "a massive cunt", apparently. See if you can avoid that particular obstacle.

Apparently after he did a good post Teddy Sheringham came and squirted Lucozade in his mouth.

I'm going to be staying in London. One of Institute of Education, Greenwich, Kings or Goldsmiths. Probably Goldsmith's as it means I'll be able to walk there, and I go out in New Cross all the time anyway.

It's 4:40am and I'm not even nearly home yet. What. the. fuck. I don't even have a whimsical anecdote, I just walked a girl across London then walked back to my bus stop.

If you see me in New Cross, make sure to yell "Uncle Sam!" at me. I'll probably blush and run off.

What time did I leave your mansion? Five? Incredibly, I woke up at the right station.

I think so, it was a Herculean effort to get home though.

No, alas not, though I still live right next to a pub called The Holly Tree, no Geordies there though. Well there might be, I haven't been. I considered sleeping in their beer garden on Friday night, but it was raining. Good job, as I saw a cat shitting there the following morning.

In other news, I made ten quid betting against Amir Khan.
