**MERGED** The New WWE Championship (Keep it all in here!)

damn when i read the title of this post i thought it was about all the endless possibilities of Rock playing Neo.

bring back the unified world title belt. the one JBL and Eddie held. or keep the spinner. or do something new. in the end, who really gives a fuck about a damn prop?

I wish WWE titles meant more too but they currently do not and that is how it is. hell at times the titles arent even called by their proper fucking names.

if they are going to keep just one physical belt, then it should be the Big Gold Belt and just switch it over to the WWE title with all the WWE titles lineage. its fucking wrestling. you can do shit like that

The Rock would be the perfect person to bring in the new belt. After he wins the title, the next night on RAW he can say how it looks like a piece of monkey crap and represents John Cena. He can then say that he wants a new title belt and then it can be revealed the following week.

I was aghast when I saw the pictures of the supposed "New Title". Now learning that what I saw was a side plate, I am okay with it. As a side plate that design works pretty well and I can dig it, but when I was under the impression that would be the main plate I just thought "Why did we believe for one second they wouldn't fuck this up ?" With that, I have faith that whatever is revealed will be a good upgrade from the current title.

Raw 1000 does seem to be a good time to do all that, but I agree with Dagger as he mentioned Raw 1001 would be appropriate to signify the change. I'd imagine Raw 1000 is where we might learn of the change that is to come and then witness it the following week. I'm not sure that the new belt actually debuts at either Raw 1000 or 1001, it could easily be quite some time before that happens. I don't think the logo is changing either, I think the "W" logo we all saw and took as being a new WWE logo was strictly for the new WWE Network that is to be launched later down the road. I could be wrong but that makes sense to me at least. I would look forward to possibly seeing a new set and new theme and video package at the beginning of the show, but I'm not sure if the logo change is something they are quite ready to do or have any intentions on doing. Again, I could be wrong on that but for some reason I just don't see it.

With John Cena cashing in his Money in the Bank contract against CM Punk at the 1,000th Raw, I'm going to assume that this is when the new WWE Championship will be launched. The fact Raw is going 3 hours permanantly, rumours of a new set, probably a new into, maybe a new logo, it is almost certain this is when it will happen. Problem is, would John Cena, the creator of the spinner WWE Championship, want to change the design, after all, if he designed it, he must like it. I'm not saying he really designed it, but logic would tell us that. Then again, when has WWE used logic? I hope there is a new WWE Championship and I hope to god that the picture was of a side plate. Looking forward to it though.

It's really not that hard. WWE dosen't even have to spend the time or money to create a new one. Look how much people got on board with and supported Cody bringing back the classic 90's IC title with the white strap. WWE has three great previous models to choose from.

The shape of the belt that The Rock has with the colour scheme/design of Lesnar's belt........would be especially good if the titles were unified.

The 1000th Raw would be a great place to do it - Punk is only a year late on his promise to change the belt....

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, I had a look through a few pages and couldn't find it.

Rumours are flying round the IWC about whether the WWE title has actually been produced, or if it's a ploy to take people off guard.

Anyway, that's not the focus. I want to know how you think the new WWE title should be introduced, and how you think it will be introduced?

I won't pretend I'm WWE creative, because I'm not. But, I think it should be introduced on Raw 1,001. CM Punk claimed that he didn't like the title, as it was Cena created. I would love him to end the show, with a 10 minute long promo about how the WWE tried to screw him out of his title, and nothing's changed, because Vince is selfish, and is just in for the money. Punk pulls out a duffle bag and says he took matters into his own hands, and pulls out the new WWE title.

However, I think it will be introduced on a random Raw, that WWE wants to drag the viewers into.

How you think the new WWE title should be introduced, and how you think it will be introduced?

After The Rock wins the belt at the Rumble, he'll come out and cut a promo on RAW the next night. He'll talk about how the belt is a disgrace and a steaming piece of monkey crap that reminds him of John Cena. He'll then say, that's why he asked the WWE to create a new belt incarnation of the WWE title, the people's belt, and they'll debut it just like that, right there. Of course, he'll go on to drop it at WM, but that's how they'll bring in the new belt.

So this new belt, a picture of which was leaked some months back, is currently in production it seems.

Remember me?

A new photo, posted on Twitter by Rick Petko of Orange County Choppers, shows him annealing aluminium on the main belt plate, which bears a strong resemblance to the aforementioned picture.

I know that they're making a new WWE Championship, but I'm tired of waiting for it to debut. And TBH, I actually prefer the current design than this piece of garbage, which isn't a good sign. Still, using the new one would be fresh. Either way, I don't care anymore whether it debuts or not.

I'm not sure what to realy think of this new design, it looks interesting.. but I really hope its more than just that plate you know? it looks so dull and just bulky and square and I guess just plan ugly and an eye sore. Now the WHC isn't much to say but its classic and it looks right when someone is carrying it around. But hopefully it will be something a bit better than what we expect, and while they are at it can they please for the love of god replace the tag titles too? those are so ugly.

Won't have a solid opinion until I see the final product, but I do remember Punk saying in an interview that it's a slight improvement over the current, but not by much. First impression for me is that it looks very plain and that they said "people have been complaining for a new title belt for years, lets just get this over with".

Hard to say when it will debut. Night Of Champions would seem like a good time, but if it will be Punk's last night with the belt, it would seem pointless to debut a new one. Unless they have Cena debut the new one the next night. Claiming he brought change to the previous belt in the first place but now it's time for another change.

I would love the Undisputed belt to come back. That title just looks awesome.

That plate that the worker is working on looks more like the centerpiece as opposed to a side plate. If that's the case it would be a shame. The current title got rid of having a globe on the front, still kept the eagle, but did a horrible job on it. Now, if this is the centerpiece as is, there is no globe or eagle. They keep moving backwards.

That new belt design looks too much like the current one for my taste.

(Obviously a Photoshop fake. Still gives you an impression...)

Would that be an improvement over the current design? Maybe, but that's splitting hairs in my opinion. They're both fugly. I guess we'll just have to make peace with the fact that the WWE title is going to be an ugly one for many years to come.

It could be worse, though. They could decide to go totally retro and bring back the original WWWF design. :lmao:

My view:

I think it fits the new era perfectly. Would I change it if I could? Yeah. I think its kind of goofy, and animated looking. But it fits where we are in the WWE right now. I do like the big WWE logo, but I thing the Champion Font should be different. Other than that, I cant wait for it to debut. And hopefully, it debuts at NOC, because Im geyting tickets.

My thoughts on the new title, in no particular order:

- The WWE Logo will most likely remain a large graphic element in the design. Get used to it.

- Personally I will be glad to see the spinner belt disappear because it is simply too attached to Cena's defunct Chain Gang Soldier gimmick. Modern "Rise Above Hate" Cena even looks foolish wearing it. Society's fling with urban gangsta culture ended years ago.

- We haven't seen the finished belt yet. All of these prototype designs leaking are not guaranteed to ever go around any wrestler's waist.

- Cena should not introduce the new championship. He will forever be associated with the spinner title, that's just fine. The new championship should represent a shift in the business. Anyone but Cena, but if it were up to me I'd present the new title to CM Punk after defeating Cena at Night of Champions.

Good points.

I don't think that Cena will be the one to introduce the new title whenever it's unveiled. According to reports I've read, CM Punk's first DVD complilation is due to be released on October 9th, at least that was the date as of about a month ago, and I don't look for Punk to drop the title at least before then. Having him do so would take momentum away from Punk and possibly cause lower sales of the DVD. Because of that, I have a feeling that Punk will go over Cena at Night of Champions.

I've also read that Vince McMahon is really wanting to go with Cena vs. Rock II for WrestleMania 29. If that's how it goes down, then I expect CM Punk to hold the title until the Royal Rumble. He'll drop the title to The Rock, unfortunately, Rock will probably defend the title at the EC ppv and then go onto face Cena at WM with the WWE Championship on the line.

I think that's what Vince is ultimately wanting but again, allegedly, The Rock's schedule might not allow him to actually wrestle at WM 29. The new G.I. Joe movie, which Rock has a prominent role in, is set to debut in theaters one week before WrestleMania. That means The Rock will be really be heavily promoting the movie on television, radio and various other media outlets both in & out of the country. The Rock's movie will take priority over him competing at WrestleMania.

If Punk retains at NOC against Cena, which I think he will, then I expect Punk to debut a new belt shortly thereafter. Last week on Raw, it looks like they initiated an angle in which Cena is kind of "goading" Punk in some ways. Cena's comments that he has to think of himself as the best in order to go out and win, which goes against Punk's schtick of him being "the best wrestler in the world". So, they'll probably go for a "who's the best" type of deal with Cena & Punk. If Punk wins, he'll once again declare himself "the best" and it'll be a good opportunity to leave behind the spinner belt design as it's a design that Cena himself came up with and the title itself has been synonomous with Cena ever since. Punk debuting a new title would be seen as kind of a "dawning of a new day" sort of thing.

From the new images that have been leaked showing the new WWE Championship, it basically looks like an alternate version of the current spinner belt. Just minus the spinner plate and same logo. Honestly, I liked the old WWF title that Bret Hart, Stone Cold, The Rock, and Mankind were carrying during the attitude era. That belt looked like a legit prestiegious belt and had nice designs without being overly flashy. You got the point with it being coveted but not pimped out. New titles in WWE lately look like glorified toys with gold or silver on them. They need to look at their older belts and do a similar designs without making it too toyish. I doubt they'll change it much though as they don't listen to anything else real fans want anyway.
