*MERGED* RAW 900th Episode General Discussion

Overall it was a mediocre show. No big surprises or returns. By the way as if it wasn't already, it is now safe to say that new logo is fake. The nexus attacked a Smackdown! wrestler so it makes me wonder where that will go. The main event sucked. Jericho and Edge walked out on team WWE for the 75th time in the past month. I liked the nexus winning but that was about all that came out of it for me. It not only was it a let down for being the 900th episode, but I actually thought it was below average of a typical Raw.

It was just a bad show. Nothing happened….literally. Nothing happened, and nothing had a purpose. I felt like I was watching a PG TNA. A show that was hyped to be historic, but it will only be remembered as an awful show.

I may have to take a break from wrestling, because nothing entertains me. They are trying to outthink themselves, and they end up running in a circle. Pointless show that accomplished nothing. I’m waiting for someone to rebut this and talk about how they made Nexus look strong, or something like that. Give me a break. This was the 900th show. That should be a footnote, not the main thing coming out of episode 900.

This show was a disapointment considering how much they hyped it up and I agree with some in here when they say this was one of the worst Raw's if not the worst Raw of the year. The only things I truly enjoyed from this show was Punks promo, Alberto Del Rio, and Sheamus calling the Boston crowd a bunch of "Plastic Paddies" I thought that was pretty freaking hilarious and sorta true.

Besides that this show was a let down hopefully they plan and do a better job for the 1000th show, they got plenty of time to get that right.

I kinda figured it would be a dull one when Bret Hart opened the show instead of some other Raw alum from the past. Most of the clips of older raws were too recent ,have been over done, or were censored to shit. Overall very dull and i gound myself doing other things during it and not paying much attention.

Also for a raw 900th episode we sure got alot of smackdown story development.

Overall, it was a decent Raw. It wasn't 'historic' or even really memorable but if it wasn't the 900th episode it would be a good regular Raw. I liked the tag team triple threat match, it had six of my favourite wrestlers at the moment in it and seeing Daniel Bryan and Kaval tag together was fantastic. The Big Show/SES segment was good too, Show and Punk were both spot on and very funny. And of course the 5-on-5 match was very entertaining with a surprising outcome.

One thing I did notice was a lot of references to TNA. They had Kurt Angle and Mick Foley in videos. And The Big Show did an impression of Hulk Hogan (or was that Randy Savage?). I was very surprised WWE said that was OK either way.

wow i didnt think it was great, but i didnt think it was terrible either.

The one thing i have to very much disagree with was the main event with nexus, you have slater go over sheamus, you had gabriel pinning cena (and knowing everyones hatred of cena im surpised this is mentioned very little) and barrett over orton. And yet people are saying the Nexus still looks weak. The Nexus has a long way to go people and with season 2 ending, and with sheamus bringing up triple H again, something is going down soon.

They cant give 100 suprises away every week just because its raw's 900th show. It was only 2 hours and im glad i didnt see 100 wwe legends, it wasnt really necessary. The Rock and Stone Cold are busy people, get over it. Jericho is still a heel and a damn good one. And the Nexus will be re-tooled, theres still a lot of unanswered questions that will be answered with them. This isnt TNA

The one thing i agree with you all about is, yes CM Punk is a star and i wish he was on mondays !!!

God, this fuckin' show sucks. I swear on everything I own, I have no idea how so many of you can rag on me for supporting TNA and watching iMPACT! which apparently "makes no sense", yet you actually support and enjoy this inconsequential malarky.

I'd rather watch an 85-year old Sting and a 112-year old Flair go at it in wheelchairs than watch a fucking match that has anything to do with Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston or more than half of Nexus.

What exactly was so "special" about this, considering it was supposed to be some kind of milestone achievement? The best segments of the show were the ones when they showed segments from years prior, especially the segments from prior to 2000 – that, and CM Punk, who's in a league of his own in that pathetic company.

i gotta agree with you bro. i watch WWE practically every week b/c i have 7 & 5 yr old boys who love the shit and i gotta admit, that show was straight trash. i mean they touted the show big time. i figured Raw #900 would be something special but boy was i wrong. every week they give the people the same crap and last night was no different. i too much prefer to watch TNA Impact. another thing, for all the crap that WWE fans spew on these boards as well as other sites about TNA being too old, i spoke to bunch of folks last night that almost jizzed on themselves when they heard the Hit Man would face the Undertaker in the main event. lol, combined they are what 110 yrs old ??? i too will gladly watch Hogan, Sting, Flair, and Nash any day of the week.

p.s. the dark match was a steel cage with Cena v Taker v Sheamus ???? total bullshit.

I guess I have to agree that this 900th episode of RAW was an utter letdown. it really seems as though the show was thrown together an hour beforehand.

as soon as the "GM" announced taker vs hitman, i knew that wasnt going to happen, all too predictable. and what they did with that match was total shit too. how many times did the lights go off? and where did the hitman disappear to? one minute he was there, the lights go out, POOF! he was gone, and not one word was said about him mysteriously vanishing.

Please WWE, keep putting on shit shows like this! maybe more people will wise up and turn on TNA Impact!

My favorite episode is definitely Y2J...WWF did a great job of building up the suspense of Jericho coming to Raw. Those few years during the WWF/WCW wars were great. I would flip back and forth constantly, but the Y2J "Raw is Jericho" is my favorite.

i know during these kind of episodes they look back but i think they really done bad i mean when you think of that episode i thought they might do something to make a hugh raw moment. but the biggest thing they did was going to be unifying the divas belts. i was thinking since to me the mystery gm is getting kinda boring since it has been going on for over 2 months that they could have said who he was that would have been hugh because i think they have been dropping hints that it might be stone cold but think of it like this. what episode better to do reveal the gm then the 900th episode none in my opionion. not to mention they didnt do very good matches and the only had like what 3 matches they had the tag match, the divas match, and the elimination match. im not counting the undertaker cause it never happened and they even messed that up. but to me it was a let down i know they did alot of clips to remember but if it was me i would have sincerely regretted buying a ticket to that raw. what do you guys think

Yes it was an awful awful episode. In fact, if it wasn't for CM Punk's outstanding promo I would've sued World Wrestling Entertainment for 2 hours of my life back.

I was really disappointed with it actually.

The main event was boring. Jericho and Edge walk out woo hoo big surprise never saw this before.

Oh watch out now, a guy that appears once a month vs a guy that EVERYONE KNEW wasn't going to do anything (Hart) and of course... nothing happened between the two. Nexus beats up Undertaker... who cares... that storyline isn't going to go anywhere. I know it was to make Kane and Nexus look strong but please... And did anyone notice that in all of Kane's appearances he didn't have the title with him? Isn't that a little off? I always thought the champions (especially heels) were supposed to prance around with their gold.

Del Rio was boring as well. His finisher sucks. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind him, but this storyline is already lame with him and Rey. Evan Bourne and Mark Henry? What? They had 2 really athletic guys in there that could have put on a much better match but no have some lame ass interrupt it.

Womens belt. Could. Not. Care. Less. Good great unify them I don't care. Can we just make a seperate show for Diva's so I don't have to watch? Call it Wednesday Night Pink or something. They all bore me besides Melina. Need Lita back.

At one point I was like aw yes what a sweet match 4 of the WWE's great young stars. Especially with Morrison and Rhodes in there whom both I think are AWESOME. But nah screw that lets have this match end in 5 seconds too. More time for our horrible main event.

The Big Show/SES confrontation was funny at least. When CM Punk said "you aren't funny and nobody likes you" I DIED laughing. He's really something.

The triple threat tag match wasn't so great considering the talent that was in there. And big surprise, Miz and that jock-looking fellow won due to Miz attacking someone from behind. SHOCKERRRRR. Please, bombard me with how "MIZ IS DA FUTURE FACE OF DA WWE HE IS TEH GR8EST EVRRR". Please..

The only small things I noticed/enjoyed:

-Cena seemed to lose and get pinned legitly. I know Edge and Jericho walked off but didn't Cena get 450 splashed without any nonsense or was there a lowblow or something that I missed? I probably missed something but I for some reason remember it being a legit pin on JC.

-Jericho saying "he's done" if he loses was obviously a huge announcement.

-CM Punk/Big Show showdown was great.

-Sheamus actually didn't walk off despite the other 2 heels walking off. Still, he unimpressively got owned by like Heath Slater or something... like really? Can we paint at least a LITTLE BIT tough of a picture for our WWE Champion?

I really didn't enjoy it. I was expecting a lot, lot more. Maybe the announcement to who the GM is or a title match or something idk... It was really lame.

mayb thy should of saved the nexus invasion angle to now. raw 900th was boring and only 2hrs but then againwhy would we want an extra hr of that crap. the gm should of been revealed or at least some suprise return like triple h, the rock, stone cold or batista. i know these guys wont wrestle but to come out or do something thre sattle lite and congradulate raw on 900 episodes

I don't see what was so terrible about RAW. Storylines were advanced, they teased a matchup between two legends, and Nexus got a win over some of the top guys on RAW. It wasn't the best episode but it was far from the worst. RAW is more about entertainment than wrestling so there shouldn't be much complaints about the amount of wrestling that occured.

You do realize that they say the "we're more about entertainment than wrestling" simply because they can't do the wrestling so they act like it just doesn't matter as much as entertainment, so guys like you can eat that shit up and believe it?

The show was awful. There was no entertainment or wrestling. Only wasted time. Little to no wrestling, it wasn't even watchable. A bunch of mindless segments like every Monday, plus all the footage from the past which I've seen a thousand times already. Seriously, they just ran the same videos they usually do when there's something like this. They didn't change anything, same effects, sequence, music. If you liked this - you're crazy. It was complete bullshit.

Big letdown. And to keep hearing Cole and King keep comparing RAW to other television programming drove me frickin insane.

KANEANITE- I think your spot on with your analysis. :D. HOWEVER, I find the Del Rio/Mysterio feud to be a breath of fresh air in the world of WWE. I think Del Rio is a great worker and has style. Him and Rey should have some great matches. Kane not having his title on was annoying. Bret needs to stay off television- he is tarnishing his career by making these appearances (very Foley-esc).

what I don't get is...why use this 900th episode to supposedly, MAKE HISTORY for Nexus when they're not even going to last that long? Unless they start invading both brands and making a huge noise, then I can get why they did what they did with Nexus, but still, as of right now, no sense in giving Nexus more heat on a show that should've and COULD'VE been better.

heck I'm surprised Raw got a 3.5 rating after that show.

It sure as hell wasn't the worst Raw in years. I mean, crap, the Guys from Hot Tub Time-machine did a crappy job.

But, most guys are right. They needed a surprise, and didn't use it. No Vince? No Austin? No anybody... What the hell?!?!

Now, I have this feeling, that Nexus is going to get bigger, because I watched the end of season 2 tonight. All the young guys beat the crap out of Kaval. So I see them getting bigger. So, don't expect the angle to die out within the month.

However, this episode was perfect to reveal the leader or the GM. It just made sense.

i for one, was not disappointed, because there was no need to get hyped up. first of all, they didnt make it 3 hours. second of all, from all their little promos, wwe made it clear that it was just a celebration, not a real "event". after the first half hour, i realized wwe was simply brushing this one off, which is fine in my opinion. the big 1000 is coming. not soon, but we're getting there. i wasnt hyped up for this raw, so it simply turned into a fun raw with smackdown superstars on it, no harm no foul.

Absolutely. It was so terrible. The best was Punk's promo. Everything else is insulting.

They're obviously stalled with the tag team titles. Morrison and R-Truth are the only thing they can think of? They have great chemistry but they could be doing better than feuding with Hart Dynasty. They're only pushing them to keep Bret around. And the Dashing Cody Rhodes/Mcintyre pairing is ridiculous and insulting to Mcintyre because it's so slapdash. It ended in a no contest so that they have some filler for next weeks Raw or Night of Champions.

i went to a house show back in May and have been seeing the exact same thing over and over on Raw and the previous Money In The Bank matches.
The scenario was Henry saving Bourne from a Chavo (then) and Swagger when Henry runs out to save Bourne. The exact same thing from Raw. This episode was hyped and they're doing their house show routine.

The Diva's thing was terrible except for Melina's work and Layla being so phat.

As soon as he announced the Bret Taker "match" was going to be exactly like i expected. Interupted by NXT or Kane.

The main event, the exact same thing. They repeat finishers on each other, one by one except Barrett instead Orton being the finishing move survivor in the ring.

They really needed to stop with the facts. And they kept hyping stars of past showing up. But there was only theme music and clips were the exact same order and editing of the Best Of Raw dvd that i watched last week.

Not to sound like an angry dude. But it really is extremely, extremely repetitive and you'll see it if you realize the cycle.

oh i know the cm punk was the only highlight other than that i quit watching that this weeks raw and played my ps3. but one thing i got to im glad my thread made it onto that little spot with like 5 threads that are on the main page where you read news about the wrestlers and stuff

Wat! i loved it! The 3 way tag, with miz hitting an amazing skull crushing finale, decking bryan with the case (LOL) but the main event was disappointing, and we know jericho will lose at night of champions because his contract runs out in october,
