Live Discussion: Raw 1/4/2010

Doesn't Raw show to 3.5 million fans every Monday?

What's your point?

Well, I was replying to your statement "
I have to say...Raw may not get as many replies in two hours as TNA did in its first hour...
"

And my point is, for that first hour where WWE wasnt being aired, wrestling fans had nothing to watch and discuss EXCEPT TNA's Monday Impact Special.

As soon as RAW started, the TNA discussion lost what, 300 people?

Your logic, stating that an unopposed hour of wrestling produced more commentary than an hour of wrestling with competition, is the same logic that WCW used in the late 90s to "prove" they had a "better product"

It seems to me that WWE isn't trying to compete here and that might be the best thing. TNA at the moment simply isn't a threat to WWE and won't be for awihle. Now, could they be eventually? Yes, but why seem like you're nevous otherwise?
They should compete though. Why just sit on thumb and give TNA a chance to be competitive? Put them down now, and never worry again.

"Kofi Kingston continues to be the thorn in orton's side"?

Didn't Orton continue the fued last week? lol

Why do that and use resources when they very easily could eliminate themselves? There's a very good chance their ratings won't be that great. I'd think a 1.8 would be HUGE for them. WWE is still going to win. TNA is dominating here in TNA's specialty: smarks. WWE is marketed to the masses. Also, other than Hogan, none of those big names were advertsed. If they don't tune in for Hogan, they likely won't hear about the rest of the guys.

But Sly, if the WWE were to put TNA down now, we wouldn't have any competition. Thus we would get boring wrestling. The horror. [/sarcasm]

Actually...

What I said was that ONE hour of TNA could do better than TWO hours of Raw.

Perhaps you should have read that more closely. Or, if you like, you could go back through previous Raw LDs, when Raw had TWO hours unopposed and barely got what TNA got in it's first unopposed hour.

What resources? They've already brought in Bret fucking Hart for the night. Take what you have, and put on a great card. It wouldn't be hard at all, and wouldn't require any more resources than they already have. But, Raw has just been business as usual, with Kofi vs. Orton in the main-event.

Hell, Cena isn't even there.

Resources as in stories that could be used for later. Feuds and matches that haven't been used yet, title changes, etc. Why use stuff you wouldn't normally use and not have them later?

Well here comes the best part of the show.

Clearly WWE wasn't trying that hard tonight. The ratings will likely dictate whether or not they should have.

Because Bret Hart is only Guest Hosting tonight. 12 years of stories which can only be used tonight are going to waste.
