Jeff Hardy is the *NEW* TNA World Heavyweight Champion; Angle to Retire?

Well not really sure what to say bout the matter the whole ppv was really filled with swerves and forshadowing of events to come.

As to what i think of hardy being champ idc really i never understood why the WWE put thier belt on him in the first place really. Doing so at the expense of Angle truly does suck however since i think Kurt still had a few good years left in him. Really I would had rather seen a Anderson reign than a hardy reign overall as Anderson is a proven heel and Hardy really hasnt done the heel thing that much, overall a risky move by TNA.

Oh yeah, Pope is supposed to be a face now since he was with Nash and Sting. Nash is retiring after today so that rules him out. Wasn't Joe with Jarrett? Is he a face or heel now? That's another problem with TNA, it's too darn confusing that even someone who's watching every week doesn't know what's happening.

As for EV 2.0, why are they still here? They should be gone after Hard Justice and they got their revenge today.

I am going by the looks of it. I forgot Nash is callign it quits. Jarrett betrayed Joe and Pope and Sting were right all along. The signs are pointing to it happening. Yes tna has a lot of problems in their storylines, but Joe isn't one of them. EV 2.0 will probably stay around to add fuel to the storyline. RVD was an ecw orginial himself and he is going to be feuding THEY as of the looks of it.

Hardy being the biggest Face in TNA and turning is aken to Hogan Turning the first time in 1996. It isnt as huge and not as main stream but the fact is that Hardy was the biggest baby face TNA had and the turn will grab peoples attention. WWE has been talking a John Cena heel turn and Vince has been vetoing it but people seem to love that. You just have to look at the turn objectively, it created a buzz, it gave Hardy the belt, it created new feuds, and it makes you want to know what will happen next. That is what the point was and if TNA takes advantage this could be a huge boom.

Being a heel is easy, you just have to be mean and cruel. That is human nature so it should be easier than being nice. If you can't be a heel in professional wrestling you need a new line of work. Hardy is by many accounts a guy who has a lot of pent up frustration about a lot of things lately. Just turn that into your work and you will be fine.

Angle will be back and he and RVD will lead the locker room charge. Fourtune will most likely take advantage of the chaos and try to monopolize the championships. Flair is too smart to let that opportunity pass him by.

I just had an excellent idea! Jeff Hardy is the TNA champion, and as we all know, he is in the midst of some unresolved legal issues in real life which could still result in consequences as serious as jail time.

Here's what they should do. They should strip him of the title. Hey, maybe they could even have a tournament to choose his successor. They could drag it out over a month or more, and when they choose their winner, they could make it someone who makes no sense whatsoever. Of course, they cannot involve the best wrestler on the roster in this tournament, as he will be too busy feuding with ECW guys, defending his mid-card belt, and hiding in Flair's shadow. Maybe even one of the combatants should retire if he is unsuccessful in winning this tournament.

All sarcasm aside, even the most die hard TNA marks have got to be a little concerned about the direction of this swerve. Hardy teased a heel turn one time before if I remember correctly (back in WWE years ago) and it failed as I recall. Plus, putting the strap on a guy facing severe possible charges has to be questioned in terms of its degree of common sense. If he is convicted, then what? Even if he isn't, I don't think it looks good to have your company's champion in the midst of legal troubles involving drug usage and distribution. This was a swerve for shock value only and while it will cause a short term spike in interest, I truly believe that in the end it will be a failure.

I am a bit concerned not because of the storyline because that was great but that long black cloud of Hardy's legal troubles. He has a lot of charges against him and unless he pleads down to probation this could turn out bad. The better choice for a turn may have been RVD but now we can always go forward with what we have.

Correct me if I am wrong but Jeff Hardy has never been heel before? This might be interesting, but I would have preferred RVD to be the one to turn. He is awful as a babyface, just awful. To me, it seems like they picked Hardy for the swerve, just because he was the one people least expected.

I don't think Angle will be leaving, mainly due to the fact that Hardy pinned Anderson. So technically Angle didn't really lose (Plus Angle very recently signed a new 1 year contract extension with TNA)

I believe Jeff Hardy was heel back in the day when him and Matt first joined the main roster in WWF, when they were teamed with Michael Hayes and then joining Gangrel as the New Brood, but other than that, i don't think he's ever been heel..

I'll admit it. I expected Kurt Angle to win. We will find out Thursday about his retirement. I bet he comes up with an excuse not to retire.

For the haters, screw off. This is just what TNA needed. A nice injection of intrigue and thought. Even though Hulk, Double J and Eric turning heel wasn't a shock at all, Jeff Hardy was the monkey wrench that nobody saw coming. Hell, Mark Madden who "Knows every lame thing TNA does" in his yackfest earlier didn't even see this coming. Although I am sure he will bitch about it because Jeff Hardy is a burnt out druggie who doesn't deserve the title. Yeah, like it or not, the Pay Per View was solid and had some good matches behind it. I liked it, even the tag match with OJ and EY VS Ink Inc, which I thought would be a total stinker, was a fairly well done match. The loose ends got tied up and they opened a whole new can of worms that will hopefully culminate into some solid storylines that lead to solid ratings. Again, the company proves they are right on the edge of getting it and hopefully this helps push them over into the plunge.

Angle is not going anywhere in my opinion, simply due too the fact that he didnt actually lose, as Hardy pinned Mr. Anderson and not Kurt Angle. Plus with all the outside interference, he has a legit complaint as too why he wouldn't have to enforce his retirement. And, I am pretty sure it was never actually in the contract that if he didnt win, he would retire. This stipulation was self-imposed, and so it would be up to Kurt to decide if he should go or not.

Angle probably wont retire since he signed a contract and since he was never pinned. I think Bischoff and Hogan interfering would cause Angle to go on a rampage instead of retire. The one man who was the hottest free agent in wrestling recently is finally the World Heavyweight Champion in TNA. To top it off he is heel which most people never thought they would see. I just don't know how it will work out because I imagine there are a lot of younger fans that buy Hardy's merchandise. I don't know who sells the most merchandise in TNA, but my guess is that Hardy and RVD are right up there. This could be a huge angle or end up being like Austin's heel turn. Honestly though Hardy never received a huge reaction like Austin in TNA, so maybe its for the best. We will have to wait and see.

Now Jeff Hardy is champion of TNA as a friggen heel, how is that for something fresh and new. Good to see TNA taking risks, because we all know Jeff Hardy is a major risk and hopefully that does not get in the way. This should lead to more unanswered questions which makes for enjoyable television, this is where TNA starts to create it's own history something we can look back on and say wow that was good, they just played out their biggest angle ever, all that is left is the follow up and execution here is hoping they get it right. As for Angle, he never got pinned so he may destroy "THEY" and take back TNA alongside Dixie and Mr. Anderson.

First of, wow nice spelling, language, and grammar, I bet you're a joy to talk to in the customer relations dept.

Second off, while I'm not the biggest TNA fan in the world, I respect that they did something the WWE has never brave enough to do, turn Hardy heel, maybe it's a good choice, maybe it's bad, but hey, learn from your mistakes.

Thirdly, WWE will not always be PG, you abosolute idiot, all their current fans wiill grow up, think wow this is shit, for the fuck did I watch this, then WWE will have to either a, keep the existing customers, or try to get more customers, why would you risk trying and failing to find new ones, makes no sense to me.

I find it quite interesting that people are complaining yet keep coming back.

The decision to give Hardy the championship, let alone as a heel was brilliant, no one saw it coming and its getting the buzz they wanted.

On the aftermath and as to whether Hardy can cut it as a heel, a few months ago people were saying how AJ wouldn't be able to cut it as a heel but he did because he was learning from Flair. And with Hardy hanging around Bischoff and Hogan he should be able to pick up his mic skills a bit.

Great. Jeff's a heel. TNA's creating another major buzz brother!....So that people can tune in and see the TNA brand of bullshit, nonsense, convoluted management power-play storylines where past-it has been's pamper their ego's and puppet the younger in-ring performers as part of their plan to control a company that they already control.
I truly feel Jeff's heel turn would have been more powerful if he'd cleverly cheated both his opponents out of the match in a dispicable way all by himself. That would be completely unexpected, and I would tune in to find out just what was going on in Hardy's mind...all the heat would be focused on Hardy, not spread over 3 'has-beens' and a 'never was'.
I would like to see fueds that build heat between the actaul opponents who are to be facing off against each other in the ring, so that I can watch the story evolve through....wait for it.....wrestling matches. Followed by promo's between fueding opponents, and more WRESTLING MATCHES. I think it is a shame that TNA feel everything has to revolve around such stupid bullshit, which takes up so much valuable TV time, especially when the roster is literally bursting at the seams with fresh talent that can put on stellar matches.
I wonder how long the Carter money will continue to pour into the pockets of those who are making TNA synonymous with nonsense, and killing the reputation it had as a fresh, innovative product.

First of all I did not expect Hardy to turn heel and be a part of "they". Just like many, I though that Anderson or Angle will be a new champion. Thus, TNA succeeded in making a surprising move at BFG.

Now, I want to see where it all is going. Especially if Hardy can sell being a heel. Now, TNA put everything on this guy. If he cannot deliver and be really bad-ass heel, than it may be a disaster for TNA.

As far as his legal troubles go, TNA is aware of this, and they wouldn't put a belt on him and make him a main heel in the company, if they were scared he may soon go to prison. Maybe TNA officials know something that we don't and they are sure that he can say in TNA for some time.

I didn't get to see Bound for Glory, but I love Hardy being apart of "They". I think this will set up a nice program with RVD. RVD will want revenge for Hardy being behind they attack on him. All for Hardy's ego?

However, how does Jarrett fit in? I guess he is part of deception and I do like him as a heel rather than a face tho.

It appears as a war is going to start between Dixie and Bischoff. I like it.

I've got little interest in "They" at this point as it looks to be yet another TNA storyline centered around a power struggle. However, Jeff Hardy turning heel could be an interesting scenario as it's something that hasn't been seen before. To my knowledge, Jeff Hardy has never been a heel and maybe he'll be more interesting that way.

He could potentially have a good feud going with Rob Van Dam that could yield some really good matches. The only downside, potentially, that I see right off the bat is that neither RVD or Hardy can talk. One good thing about "They" I suppose is that Jeff Hardy will be surrounded by guys that can talk, so that's one major weakness overcome.

Easy E, Hogan, Jarrett, Abyss and Hardy is such a terrible stable imo. Would of preferred something new and fresh not hearing hulk talk say brother every 2 seconds and jarrett cry about how its his promotion.

This was a great swerve in my opinion. We all had to know it would be Hogan and Bischoff and Abyss, but I had no idea it would even involve the main event. I thought for sure it would be a part of the Sting, Nash, Pope v Joe/Jarrett match. Well either way, I'm happy that Hardy is the champion, as much as the IWC bitches about him, I think he will help the company and hopefully he has a lengthy reign. It should be interesting to see what happens now with the stable and Hardy as a heel. I'm very intrigued to keep watching TNA now.

I mean I guess it's cool? I personally don't like Jeff Hardy at all as I think he has zero personality but perhaps being in a group like this can help him?

If it were to be more like the NWO, they would have done this with a guy more like Kurt Angle who is well established and pretty much a modern legend in his own right. He could have played the "Hogan" role pretty well. Would have made a better NWO type faction. Jeff Hardy doesn't have the status, look, or personality to have a Hollywood Hogan type gimmick. Hogan wasn't the best mic worker in the world...but man did he have a presence to himself. He was the best face and the best heel in the history of wrestling. Not many wrestlers can do that...if anybody else at all could. Kurt Angle couldn't even do that...but he'd get much closer than Hardy would.

I guess I'll have to like this for what it is. It's at least better than Hardy just simply winning the title as a boring solo wrestler anyway. We'll see how this pans out.

Hopefully Nash isn't retiring and Sting and company have something to say about this...but it unfortunately looks like he is.
