Is there one moment that will end it for you?

I see alot of the posters here getting fed up with wrestling because of booking, storylines, and pushes (especially with RAW). What I want to know is if there will be one moment, whether it is a storyline, push, or anything, that will make you stop watching wrestling.

We've gone through alot in terms of a bad wresting product, but somehow it seems we keep coming back. That's why I ask the question. What can wrestling do to stop you from watching it?

Good thread.
No matter how awful WWE is or gets i just can't stop watching. I'm a die hard WWE fan and always will be. They would have to make Micheal Cole champ in order for me to stop watching:icon_razz:

Another year long title reign for Cena or Ortan would do it for me. I just can't watching those guys as champion for a long time, especially Ortan. He cuts boring, repetative promos. Cena isn;t much better, if not worse. Hulk Hogan becoming a full time wrestler again would be enough to make me stop watching for good.

I don’t mind Orton as a year long champ really just Cena he’s a douche and i cant stand him. I think Batista wining the title is a bad move but not enough to make me stop watching. I agree though I’m a die hard WWE fan I cant stop watching it but i think the cut off point for me would have to be something outrageous. We’ve all seen some outrageous shit in the WWE though so i really cant think lol. Maybe like Mae Young showing her breasts at a royal rumble? Wait that happened. Hmmm Maybe something like John Cena winning every single title at once? But knowing the WWE nothing is outside the realm of possibility.

It's hard to say. They've given me a lot and three of their shows keep entertaining me for the most part on a weekly basis. Something major would have to happen for me to quit. Beyond major, actually. Cena could leave, Taker could lose to Funaki at Mania, and Benoit could be put in the HOF and I'd still keep coming back for more. I feel that strongly about my love of professional wrestling. If they put a belt on a Holocaust Denier, though, that might be it. Not a kayfabe Holocaust Denier either, as that gimmick would be a heat magnet. I'm talking about putting the company on the shoulders of someone who has, independent of World Wrestling Entertainment, candidly denied the holocaust. That would disgust me beyond belief and I would never watch WWE again. Or at least not for two years.

Other than that or something similar, I really feel at this point that I'm hooked for life.

I can't imagine it. I've been a fan over 24 years and never once has my faith in the business been challenged. I love the sport of wrestling and while it's truly bad now, it can never reach the point where it's not worth watching. It's wrestling, and therefore it's better than almost anyting else on tv. No way would i stop watching. It'll get better, just like it always does.

I think if WWE screw up CM Punk for good, I'll consider it.
I love the guy, and I've watched him go up and down the cards for the last 16 months without sticking anywhere.
WWE are trying to push him, but they're just putting such a half assed effort into pushing him. He's had the title, and creative made him look bad. He had the midcard titles with meaningless runs. And now WWE are poking the sleeping giant that is Punk's fragile popularity by giving him the the MitB briefcase for a second time when the fans wanted to see Christian or MVP win it. If WWE screws up Punk again in the next few months, I can't see him recovering.

But as Chester said, even that might not be enough to stop me from watching something I've watched my whole life.

For me the it would be if they decide to end Undertaker's WM Streak. God if that happens i would never watch WWE again. Other than that nothing wouldmake me stop watchig it. Just don't touch the streak:icon_razz:

I already stopped watching this week, didn't bother downloading any WWE,TNA show and I never felt something was missing, I can consider myself a WRESTLING fan but unless the state of wrestling changes, I'm not watching.

Whines whines and more whines. This topic is about "what would make you stop watching?" not a "tell me why you stopped watching :(" thread. You're a wrestling fan go watch olympic wrestling. This is sports entertainment and its way funnier to watch a parking lot brawl or a good cut promo than 5 minutes of headlock into armbar thing, go watch mma's for that.

Back on topic: I don't think i would stop watching unless all the guys i care about are gone. The day when for example CM Punk and Cody rhodes are the only "big thing" on wwe i might not watch it anymore, once orton, cena and all the guys i started watched wrestling for are gone i might be gone as well but then again its a long road untill that happens.

For me it would be Ric Flair returning full-time. Or, which is more likely, I get enough of a fix from TNA. I'm always going to be a wrestling fan, and WWE is losing what made me a wrestling fan to start with. A few more terrible big screw ups by WWE and I'll probably just stop caring. I'll watch and hope it turns around, but I won't care. Ironically, all Vince cares about is people watching, not whether or not they enjoy it, so he's getting a bonus.

what would make me stop watching wwe?.....hornswoggle as wwe champion, triple h having a title reign for a year and then losing to goldust for the belt, ranjin singh as world heavyweight champ

Well played, sir. Well played!! Professional wrestling, even though it's a 'controlled environment," is much more entertaining than MMA. MMA has gotten too watered down for my liking. Guy falls down and the ref stops it. Hell, if they are going to water it down that much, might as well go all the way and have a staged outcome. I truly feel some of those MMA/UFC fights have more stage to them than people think anyway!!

BTW, there will be a day when those younger wrestlers are the "big thing." But, there are always others to take those spots.

As far as a moment to end it for me. Well, I have 20+ years of being a fan of professional wrestling and I have seen it all. But, I think if there would be one moment that would make me come close to stop watching WWE, it would have to be if Vince and his creative staff decided it would be a grand idea to put the championship on someone other than a professional wrestler, AKA, David Arquette. That may do it for me. I dont think I could handle a Zac Effron being WWE champion. Oh, the humanity!!

I would have to say that if all the wrestlers I can't stand watching main evented wrestlemania. MIz (sucks (that simple)), Cm Punk (sorry i'd rather watch paint dry, I find him so boring. I don't wanna rant about him but shouldn't a character be about what you are and not about what you aren't?) Shelton benjamin (even more boring then punk) Brian Kendrick (is THE most badly made up HBK wannabe out there. HIs cockyness is not believable cause you just wanna bitch slap him to show him the what what) So thers your double main event of Wrestlemania that will make me stop watching. Oh and if here is another drawn out mystery "leader" that turns out to be vince again that would do it too.

I really don't think that a bad title reign justifies dropping the product. It would really take a whole lot to get me to stop watching. The most likely candidate for me would be a policy change, similar to the PG thing, only to an extreme that I find too offensive or crude to be associated with watching the product. However, this would still leave TNA as an option.

I don't think I'd ever STOP watching because of stale shows. Those have and will happen often enough to be predictable, but they make the shocks even better to mark out to. Sure, I'd miss a few shows here and there, but I haven't always been a die hard watcher to begin with.

The Undertaker's streak is something that many have mentioned, and may be the only thing that I (kayfabe) care about in the business. If it ended, I possibly would consider ending my viewership. However, this depends on how it is handled. If done properly, I'd still watch. Kayfabe circumstance isn't as big to me as it is to others, I guess. I watch to see a story unfold, and won't quit watching because I don't like every twist and turn.

I would never stop watching WWE because they can and do suprise people with a single show. But what would really make me question it would be Taker losing his streak to someone who dosent deserve it (to give them a huge push), Ric Flair wrestling another match (I went to mania 24, we all made a huge deal about it as that was it! If he came back I would feel cheated) and if Cena gets inducted into the Hall of Fame! (I feel he dosent deserve it, sure he has many years to earn it but Im not sure if I can see him being a legend! Orton has already done more than Cena (evolution, longest ic champ, defeted many legends, legacy, youngest world champ...))

This moment has already come for me. I stopped watching wrestling as a whole when the Randy Orton/ Triple H rivaly failed to delivery anything of interest after the break and enter. A few weeks ago I decided that I would try and sit through some of Raw, only to see Santino in drag. At that moment I realized WWE had just become ******ed. Honestly, the womans division revolving around a drag queen and Vickie is just pathetic.

I'll only mention WWE here as its in the WWE section but ROH and Puro have kinda gone down the shitter as well over the last few months.

FYI longest IC champion was the Honky Tonk Man.

I have been a wrestling fan for 20+ years myself, and witnessed many many bad ideas, (ie Hulk Hogan vs the Yeti, Sting being attacked by the Horsemen only to be saved by Robocop, Dusty Rhodes in yellow pokadots, the Red Rooster,) just to name a few. No matter what happens I always come back. I may take a break for a while but ultimately I am a wrestling fan for better or for worse.

Up until a few weeks ago I would've said something along the lines of the whole Rick Steiner/Chucky angle would make me stop watching, but TNA beat me to it and actually aired Mick Foley wrestling a cardboard cut-out. As far as WWE goes, it'll have to be a)ending Undertaker's streak at his final Wrestlemania, b) Vicki Guererro (sp?) wearing that ridiculous crown until next year's Wrestlemania---I mean, didn't we already get rid of Sharmel?, or c)putting any piece of gold, from this point forward, on Hornswaggle.

I'll never understand the point of these threads. Your writing negative for the sake of writing negative. It's like saying, "what type of cancer would you want to get if you had to pick?"

Now you stoop to the level where you fantasy book how you'd stop watching wrestling???? So aggravating....

Good thread.

heck, I'd still watch if Cole was champion. I don't care how bad wrestling gets, I will always watch WWE. When you got something that has been in your life since before you could read, it's hard to drop. It's an addiction. I will watch for the rest of my life, no doubt. I'm just hoping Cena get's a career ending injury, get him away from us.

i think its bs. why does punk get to pass hardy whose been a long time coming and more famous. cant stand wwe writers anymore. and what were they thinking firing kennedy. if they keep letting all of there top guys go then nobodies going to want to watch it. glad to see they finally made dreamer worth something, i miss how he used to be good. they need to lose 2 shows and worthless wrestlers and become raw and smackdown again. think about it.... if there is one show a week wouldnt you want to watch that show and tune in the next week to see what happens? since there are four regular shows sometimes a saturday show and one or two ppvs a month, are you really gonna worry if you dont catch raw no because u always have ecw if you miss that you have superstars and if you miss that you have smackdown and soo on. ive been watching since i was 5 and im 22 now, and i have been a real big fan, but the stories and writers are getting a little lame. cut the shows down you have less storylines that can duplicate and become boring. i will probaly continue to watch it until i die but it is getting a bit annoying.

john cena "defing the odds" is almost sickening. it happens every ppv. he gets beat up leading up to a ppv. then at the ppv he "somehow finds a way to defy the odds and win" how many times are they gunna do this? if it keeps happening, and i bet it will. i will stop watching.
