IMPACT Wrestling LD for 08.11.11

Just an aside, but this should have opened Impact. I would think the title is more important than internet Immortal bullshit. Maybe that's just me though.....

Angle looks so cut. It would be awesome i he somehow made the olympic team.

BTW those fake boos are just too Busch league

No, no, no, a thousand times no. Dude go back and watch Russo's WCW run. It was the most godawful piece of shit fucking wrestling show I've EVER seen in my life. Nitro under Russo made fuckin' AWA in 1990 or Herb Abrams UWF look epic in comparison. Trust me bro, I've gone back and watched a shitload of Nitros, Thunders, and PPVs from 2000 in WCW over the last few months for my blog and I've seen literally months upon months pass in that company under Russo's reign without a SINGLE good match happening. Not one. Not even one good little 5 minute cruiserweight match, no, just nothing. To see a match go over 5 minutes was a true rarity.

If anything I'm underrating just how awful the Bischoff/Russo/Hogan team is. The fact that TNA has managed to maintain their fanbase under those three is miraculous to me.

I'm not even really trying to shit on "TNA" here though. Just those three guys. Fuck those three, in the ass, with a twenty foot spiked ***** of doom. I hope they get hit by a car tomorrow and their children develop leprosy.

Again, personal taste. What matters is what's good for business, as in what garners ratings, draw, merchandising sales, etc.

Length of matches on free television, and things like that only matter to smarks, not the fans who actually buy PPV's.

a heel that is not part of immortal? How dare you

edit: God damn it. Why is Hogan part of this. How did Hogan know that Dixie knew about the Jarret thing when he wasn't in TNA during that time

Sounds like it'll open the door to some above average Kurt Angle matches, otherwise known as phenomenal matches.

Personal tastes v. good for business. Good for business wins.

I absolutely hate that attitude. Why in the fuck should we, the consumer and fanbase, care about what's good for their company more than about what we personally want to see from them? That's ******ed. You wouldn't go to a focus group on, say, a Ford car and then approve of a car that's cheaper to make but much more dangerous to drive, would you? No. You put your own personal wants and needs over what the company wants and needs to survive. Who cares if TNA makes 12 billion dollars tomorrow, if I personally didn't enjoy the show that made that money then I'm not going to pretend I did like it and approve of it. When did it become so wrong for wrestling fans to want to see things they like happen in a wrestling promotion?

Man, people get way too caught up in the "business" aspect of everything.

Nifty little segment with Sting and Angle. I liked it. But what, is Kurt in Immortal now? Fuck man they gain and lose so many members every week.

Still not getting it. Doesn't matter what you like. What matters is what they like. As in the entirety of the TNA fanbase. Not just a small smarky percentage of them.

End of the day, TNA is a business, and a business is designed to succeed. Those that don't, fail.
