IMPACT Wrestling LD for 03.14.13 is LIVE from Chicago's Sears Centre Arena!

I liked the brawl. Why people always knock something for being different than usual yet complain about repetitiveness I will never understand.

Nothing negative about the show, opening promo was good, good KO match, the Sting/Hogan angle was good. Robbie T over Robbie E was pretty unneeded but screw it. Good Daniels/Kaz promo, Daniels/Storm wasn't too good but passable.

AJ Styles becoming a fresh character you can get excited about for the first time in 4+ years is the biggest positive for me.

Main event was pretty good, Sting and Aries had good chemistry. Brawl and ending was good, leaves you in suspense. Overall, really good episode of Impact, best in a long time, probably on-par with Monday's Raw which is great for TNA. If this is the type of thing fans can expect from them going on the road then its a great decision, well worth the expense.

Truly excited for what I hope is Hogan eventually challenging Ray for the title, don't care what anyone thinks, It'd be great to see Hogan become champion one last time and It'd be good publicity for TNA, should be a short reign though.

Pretty boring ass show to me. This was the first time I've watched Impact in months and I don't think I'll be watching again until Ace's n 8's is over.

Started well, ended like shit. Outside of Bully, no one knew what they were supposed to be doing. When Bully grabs the mic, the opposition should be dead, not attempting a major comeback. Memo should hit Samoa Joe's desk tomorrow morning.

At least Bully's running the show, which already takes Aces and Eights up 75%.

Crappy show that just rips off WWE at every corner.

They are trying to make these guys Sting and Hogan look like the Undertaker and HBK of WWE and it's so apparent, yet they are like way older.

The mainevent match between "Sting (even copying off shitty musicians now?)" and Austin (...hmm...where have I heard that name before) Aries was beyond terrible. Looked totally faked and staged.

If you're a mark, you probably enjoyed the show, but people like myself could see right through it. The arena was heavily papered and there weren't probably more then 2k people there. No one got much of a reaction and that's even with the canned heat they pipe in.

And the brawl at the end was so sloppy and uncoordinated that even though I'm sure it was them ripping off WWE again, WWE wouldn't be caught dead looking that shit. This was very disappointing show and I hope this company rethinks what it's doing.

I know where you've heard it before:

The Universal Heartthrob Austin Idol.

Then again I'm thinking this could be sarcasm. Odds are it isn't though.

Wow. I gotta say, not only was this show tons of fun, but so is the fact I haven't had to suffer through these miserable LD's anymore with Rangers games occupying my Thursday nights the last eight or nine weeks in a row. It's been years since I've seen a TNA LD end up with this much pessimism and vitriol being spit all over the thread, and from the look of it, I'm glad I didn't end up ruining my own night having to combat this kind of overly negative bullshit all night. I watch TNA because I enjoy it, not to have to go to war every Thursday with a bunch of people who are only here to rip on it.

You people are fuckin' miserable. Just absolutely miserable. How many times do I have to say it? Don't like TNA? Don't fuckin' watch it. It's easy. I do it with WWE every week. I don't waste my time watching shit I hate, just so I can bitch and moan in the RAW or Smackdown LD every week.

The venom in this thread is absurd.

I didn't notice as much venom tonight actually.

I don't know whether to admire your guts for publicly making such a horrible assessment of the show, laugh at its content, hate you for embodying almost every negative of a wrestling fan or sympathize with you for living with a mental illness.

Actually I've decided to do them all.

I didn't notice as much venom tonight actually.

You can't be serious...

This is just the last page of the thread alone:

If by that you mean he'll die in a few years, then hopefully.

Negative.

That statement just set a world record for cliches.

Negative.

It was such a beatdown on Angle that he's fine 90 minutes later.

Negative.

This is a pretty lame brawl.

Negative.

Okay then. No more live watching for me, back to fast forwarding.

Negative.

Sure it was different. You don't often see Bully Ray gingerly smacking guys on the back while they're down.

Negative.

Pretty boring ass show to me. This was the first time I've watched Impact in months and I don't think I'll be watching again until Ace's n 8's is over.

I guess I've just been gone from LD's too long and enjoying the show when I get to it on delay without having to worry about constantly justifying every 15 seconds of TNA footage to people who IMO watch a show they hate, or don't like, because they know they can just rip on it all night long.

Negative.

What I posted really wasn't all that negative. It was the truth. Bully grabbed a mic, declaring victory, and morons from the other side were still attempting a comeback. I post the same shit in WWE LD's when something doesn't make sense.

If you can't deal with the IWC and our miserable complaining, you can always leave as well ;)

Negative.

1/1/

Negative.

Using three cliches in a single sentence is a bit much no? I can't stand them in the first place in daily life, not just wrestling.

.

Hardly. In this case, it's saying that it's odd that a beatdown has such little effect. Usually someone being beaten down int he back would mean they won't be seen for the rest of the show no?

.

The brawl was in fact lame. It was slow, went on too long, and didn't make Aces and 8's look strong like it was supposed to. it's a criticism, but I'd hardly say it was as negative as you made it out to be.

Negative.

I disagree with him but apparently he won't be here again.

Negative.

Again, it's a criticism and I'd think a fair one.

I think you get the point by now.

Here's the thing that this always comes down to: different people have different opinions on the show. If you find people pointing out criticisms while at the same time saying good things to be less valuable than people TYPING IN ALL CAPS WHAT IS GOING ON ON THE SCREEN RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THEY'RE SO VERY EXCITED ABOUT SOMETHING THEY SEE EVERY WEEK then stay out of these. They're discussions, not "let's all get on our knees to suck Impact off" time. Yeah I point out things I dislike about the show, and I point out things that are good too.

At the end of the day, a lot of people don't like things about Impact. They do however like a lot of things about it too and as long as they're not causing problems or causing trouble, they're going to come in here. Complaining about people saying what they think has always come off as pitiful to me. If you think the show is as flawless as it apparently needs to be to meet your standards, come in here and defend it. That's the point of these things.

Short version: if people saying stuff like Angle is up pretty fast after a beatdown gets on your nerves, grow some thicker skin man.

Went to the show tonight. Got some free tickets in a suite which was nice. About 4500 tickets were sold. I got held up at work so I got there about 15 minutes late and missed the opening segment. The crowd really enjoyed it and was into it the whole time. Sting got the biggest reaction. I thought the womens match was very good. I don't know if it was a the loud crowd or poor equipment but I couldn't hear anyone on the mic very well which was disappointing considering so much of the show was on the mic. I was ready to leave at 9:00 but had no idea they were taping next week's show. I ended up leaving before the main event to beat the traffic. That's not meant as a negative comment. I'm just not that into TNA and even though I had a good time it was worth it to me to leave early.

The venom in this thread is absurd.

Reviewing, critiquing, or simply just poking fun. These things ≠ venom. We're on the internet. We're on a wrestling website. Are these things just here so we can say AJ! BULLY! TNA! TNA! The truth of the matter is you don't like seeing something that you enjoy being criticized. That's fine, but this is a forum. Meaning discussion is encouraged, not just positive discussion.

Just to answer your complaints:

If by that you mean he'll die in a few years, then hopefully.

Obviously a joke, but we all know how bad you are at differentiating these things. By the way, how did you post this but not me saying that I hope Brooke Hogan kills herself? That was way more negative, but still also just a joke.

Well, kinda.

Okay then. No more live watching for me, back to fast forwarding.

Just so you know, this is just how I am with wrestling now. I do it to Raw as well. Frankly, I don't understand how you don't. I've had discussions with you about great television shows in the past. How is it that you can sit there and watch all of this without fast forwarding through the nonsense? I stop for the segments that matter, i.e. the A&8's stuff and things revolving around the guys who matter. But there isn't 2 hours of good television here.

Wrestling as a whole is in the shitter, TNA is no exception. There's some good, but it's mostly unwatchable. So I don't watch it all.

Sure it was different. You don't often see Bully Ray gingerly smacking guys on the back while they're down.

I was giving shattered shit. But seriously, how can you not make fun of that? Bully raised both hands above his head and proceed to smack Angle on his back like a woman. What the fuck was that?

tl;dr You're blowing this way out of proportion.

I had really high expectations for this weeks impact and I felt like it didn't deliver.

* I found Bully Ray's promo at the beginning of the show extremely under-whelming.

* Was the hell was the point of having Rob E vs Rob T again? They had a shitty match at lockdown and this was no different. And what the fuck is up with the whole Rob T dancing thing?

* First hour had way too many backstage segments.

* Didn't find Bad Influence's impersonation of Road Warriors funny at all.

* Daniel's vs Storm was too short.

* So, Matt Morgan went from attacking Jeff Hardy last week to Joseph Park? I'd say that's quite a step down.

* A video package on Brooke Hogan... Nuff said. I'd rather watch Raw recaps on Smackdown than that again.

* The commercial break mid Bully Ray promo was rather odd timing.

* A really lame ass brawl to end the show, it seemed like no one had any idea what was going on.

I did enjoy a few things though. Knockouts match was better than usual, Aj attacking Storm was
interesting, and I enjoyed Aries vs Sting. Other than that I was just bored throughout. My big problem with Tna right now is the fact that they keep doing the same big heel stable takeover story-line each year, where it's the big heel stable taking on the rest of the roster. Main Event Mafia, Fortune, Immortal, and now Ace's n 8's, to much it's just become really tiresome.

If by that you mean he'll die in a few years, then hopefully.

If it were only that easy to get rid of him.

Good show tonight; Aces and Eights finally seems competent. But I have no interest in seeing Matt Morgan wrestling for any belt, in capacity

AJ Styles is going to be the one to eventually overthrown Bully Ray. They're totally trying to redo the Sting/nWo thing here and fuck anyone who complains that they're re-hashing something. If it sucks, it sucks but if it works out, it could be awesome. AJ has never been the greatest speaker and I never found Sting to be all that great earlier in his career either. Neither are/were bad by any means, but it wasn't their biggest strength. Doing an angle like this where you keep AJ silent and his allegiances unknown could be a way to make him a huge star.

I am totally aware that this could turn out to be a disaster or just totally wrong, I'm just choosing to be optimistic about this angle.

Will AJ flip from the rafters to recreate the Sting storyline?

Because let me tell you, Owen Hart tried that, and it didn't pan out

True. And I have, for the most part (from the LD's) with Rangers' games occupying my time, but I enjoy the product, and have been liking too much the fact I don't have to justify that as it's happening, so returning to LD's any time soon (even if I am authoring them) is probably not in the cards.

For the record, though, logic dictates that if you don't enjoy watching something, you stop, not that those who do enjoy watching something stop because those who hate it are overwhelmingly negative and vocal about it.

Fair enough.

Well, kinda.

Was just quickly skimming. I knew it was a joke, I just read it in context with what I felt were all the other negative-after-negative remarks, so it got rolled in.

Just so you know, this is just how I am with wrestling now. I do it to Raw as well. Frankly, I don't understand how you don't. I've had discussions with you about great television shows in the past. Again, fair enough. For the most part, I do enjoy most of TNA. She's my new WCW baby, ever since the last one was taken from me, so I can take the motherly approach to "my baby can do no wrong" from time-to-time. There are a lot of stupid things going on in the company, and I was as vocal against Aces & Eights as anyone for weeks, but the Ray thing salvaged it IMO, the same as just seeing Teryn Terrell salvages anything with Gail Kim involved, etc.

If I'm giving it an objective, honest grade, TNA's total breakdown in any given week is probably 60% positive for me to 40% negative — still not enough for me to bail on it completely like I ultimately ended up doing with WWE, and RAW specifically, which when I bailed on it was probably 95% negative and 5% positive.

tl;dr You're blowing this way out of proportion.

You're probably right.

AJ Styles is going to be the one to eventually overthrown Bully Ray. They're totally trying to redo the Sting/nWo thing here and fuck anyone who complains that they're re-hashing something. Agreed. Remember — I'm a "WCW guy" too, so the whole "WCW rejects" "WCW rehash" thing isn't an insult to me. It's a badge of honor. I love that they're reliving the golden years of the greatest wrestling company on the face of the planet the last 30 years.

Note: greatest wrestling company, not greatest business, since I'm sure the obligatory response will be "well, if they were so great, why'd Vince buy them? LULZ! WWE4LYFE! CENA SUX!"

I don't hate it. I like TNA more now (the past six to twelve months) than I ever have. I rarely point out the awful shit TNA does because they don't do much of it anymore. Part of that brawl was shit because a lot of the guys didn't know what they were supposed to be doing.

I like how they didn't make the A&8's look weak at the end of the show, but I gotta say I expected better promos from Ray tonight. Oh well, maybe next week.
