I'm Shocked

Coco

Mid-Card Championship Winner
That my post in the video game tournament finals has been deleted. But my shock doesn't stem from this isolated incident. No, rather my shock comes from the double standard this illustrates. Somehow, the post where I voted for Mario Kart 64 on the basis of its cover art illustrated an ignorance that this board is too good for. Yet every year during the WZ tournament, we let ignorance fly freely as people vote against old school and international stars they've never heard of or have no substantial knowledge regarding. Sometimes, clueless morons even randomly vote for one of those over the other. Ignorance is a WZ tradition. Why is my vote to be omitted from the tournament final? Surely me not having played either game isn't something you equally ignorant ********ers would hypocritically look down upon.

I think what we must also consider is how on the money I am. If I'm in the store and am going to casually make a video game purchase, I'm picking the one with the best cover. Just because it has nothing to do with game quality or replayability or whatever else you kids are interested in discussing, doesn't mean it's not a reasonable quality to attribute to a game's superiority. There's nothing wrong with judging a book by it's cover. People do it in the wrestling sections all the time when they talk about how Cody Rhodes' lack of knee pads make him look second rate. Heck, the world would be a lot safer if airport security all over the world were free to judge books by their covers. Where am I wrong?

I understand that my post might incite thread derailment and all, and it's deletion is reasonable in that regard. But I'd still like my vote counted. Thanks.

Just fuck off. Seriously I cannot be bothered with shit like this.

You know full well what that would have started if it would be allowed to stand and thats why I even wrote that rule about troll posts BECAUSE I KNEW YOU WOULD POST SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

Your post will not be reinstalled and your vote will not be counted.

Furthermore, look at the Shawn Michaels love on this board. Not that I don't like HBK, but he's senselessly overrated. He was voted into the WZ HOF over Terry Funk, yet most of the voters don't know anything about Funk's prime. At the same time, most threads on greatest workers ever have Michaels topping countless lists, despite ignorance about old school, puro, lucha, etc.

Ignorance is WrestleZone's bread and butter and most of you are the problem. By the standards Lee is using, 90% of all posts on the board are troll posts.

Mario Kart, as Coco proves, is far more accessible to the common gamer. His post and vote proves the theory I've been pushing all along. It would be a disgrace to the tournament if his vote was not to count because he solely based his vote on cover art.

It would be a disgrace to the tournament if it WAS to count.

I'm not arguing with the deletion of the post, but his vote is as good as any. He had the balls to at least say why he was voting, half the people who vote only do so because other people press them to vote for the games they want.

I didn't see how long the Post was, but if he'd put the Vote in bold and there was a substantial amount of text there, let it count.

It's a video game tournament, dude, not a box art tournament.
The box is part of the game in the same way Randy Savage's look is often considered one of his merits as a great wrestler. Based on the cover, I know I'd rather watch Randy Savage than Kenta Kobashi. Exact same thing.

It was a troll post simple as, lktting that stand will open the door to:

I like Mario Kart because at least I know who the main character is from the title.

I like Zelda because I can't drive and I'm alergic to bananas.

End of discussion, the post will remain deleted and the vote will not count. If he wants to vote then go make a legit post.

I'm prepared to make another legit post, but having spent no extensive amount of time with either game, are you prepared to accept my post as legitimate and not just throw a hissyfit because I'm not voting for Zelda?

Also, Shawn Michaels matches are better than Pat O'Connor matches because at least I know who the main character is. See, I can do it with anything. And you wouldn't delete that in the WZ tournament. WZ = ignorance. Every single time.

Don't ruin the tournamnet I've organised becqause you don't agree with 17 year old kids on Pat Connor v HBK.

It's Pat O'Connor.

See what I mean, kids?

So you'd rather the rampant ignorance of regular gamers ruin the tournament rather than my rampant ignorance? I don't understand the complaint.

Also it has nothing to do with who you're voting for but the obviosu trolling attempts at the post. Trolling a staff member is a bannable offence.

I'm not trolling. I want to participate. And the problem is...?

Back to the matter of ignorance, I already voted in this match:

Why Pokemon? Because I have legitimate childhood memories regarding it. I've never played SOC. And I doubt I was the only one to vote the same way for the same reasons. Ignorance has already left its stain on your tournament. What's wrong with a little more?

Right then. Silent obedience to nonsensical double standards coming right up. Sorry for the trouble, sir.

I was going to side with Coco until he lumped me in with the ignorant bunch for voting Shawn Michaels over Terry Funk.

Seriously though, Coco could have gone on and on about the superior graphics, how he loves the game play, how it revolutionized racers and in a way the Mario franchise... but why should he when literally every other poster that would vote for Mario Kart is going to do the exact same thing?

Instead, Coco pointed out an oft overlooked part of what makes a video game successful, the box art. I can all but guarantee you no other mind (including my own) on this forum was deep thinking enough to concentrate on such an obscure but important part of a game's success.

Are we really going to punish free thinking? Are we going to punish those who are unconventional? Do we really want to turn into Soviet Russia? I for one applaud Coco's outside the box thinking and will throw my hat into his corner. Vote Coco The Monkey.

Let the record show that there was no mention of sticks in any asses in my original post and that Lee is trying to turn the public against me.

I am the voice of the voiceless. A vote for Mario Kart 64 is a vote for democracy.
