That my post in the video game tournament finals has been deleted. But my shock doesn't stem from this isolated incident. No, rather my shock comes from the double standard this illustrates. Somehow, the post where I voted for Mario Kart 64 on the basis of its cover art illustrated an ignorance that this board is too good for. Yet every year during the WZ tournament, we let ignorance fly freely as people vote against old school and international stars they've never heard of or have no substantial knowledge regarding. Sometimes, clueless morons even randomly vote for one of those over the other. Ignorance is a WZ tradition. Why is my vote to be omitted from the tournament final? Surely me not having played either game isn't something you equally ignorant ********ers would hypocritically look down upon.
I think what we must also consider is how on the money I am. If I'm in the store and am going to casually make a video game purchase, I'm picking the one with the best cover. Just because it has nothing to do with game quality or replayability or whatever else you kids are interested in discussing, doesn't mean it's not a reasonable quality to attribute to a game's superiority. There's nothing wrong with judging a book by it's cover. People do it in the wrestling sections all the time when they talk about how Cody Rhodes' lack of knee pads make him look second rate. Heck, the world would be a lot safer if airport security all over the world were free to judge books by their covers. Where am I wrong?
I understand that my post might incite thread derailment and all, and it's deletion is reasonable in that regard. But I'd still like my vote counted. Thanks.
