William.

I dislike the FUCK out of Bret Hart, but he's still bad ass. The Pink and Black Attack. Only man to wear pink and not get fucked with AT ALL.

the reason Shawn was crumpled in the corner crying is becuase Bret was a canadian national gold medal winning ameatuer wrestler. I thought Naked Bret was going to shoot on him, and break his shit apart

Hey now, I said nothing bad about Hogan in that post...

Well, if nothing else, I put a lot of time and thought into my posts...

Dammit

Bah, this would have been way easier if Edge had lost in any one of the last three rounds, like he should have...

Damn Lita's boobs

No, no, I didn't say that...

I...I just cant fathom this. I cant.

Bret Hart is EVERYTHING a pro wrestler should be. Promos, selling, unselfishness, look, realism, protecting your partner. fucking A man

Well he's also an egomaniac Norcal and I wouldn't exactly call him a great promo-cutter. The America vs. Canada thing brought out some good promos, but they were all basically just Bret Hart hating on Americans. Not exactly hard material to come up with.

I still love Hart though and will be voting for him. But the guy took himself WAY too fucking seriously.

'Egde iz Ratid R SUpertarz'

That's the argument used by HALF the people who voted in the last round.

Next year, my argument for Stan Hansen will be. 'Stan Hansen is good because he's a bad man.'

If the WZ tournament is designed to pick the greatest wrestler how has Hogan never won?

I've been wondering that for a while now.

you gotta understand were he is from man. were he is from, the whole culture, wrestling is EXTREMELY serious buisness.

as for the promos, its all in the delivery man. all in the delivery. His promos before the Owen Hart match, and the British Bulldog match of 92, were fuckin ace too. Underrated as a promo cutter. you couldnt ask for better out of the character he played

Couldn't have been said better. Wrestling is actually taken very seriously in some parts of the world. I remember a saying, i think Konnan said it.

In Mexico wrestling is a religion, in Japan a sport, in Canada a tradition, in America a joke.

Hogan gets a lot of disrespect on here, which I don't get because the guy has helped save the entire industry...twice.

But too many people look at his limited move set and the last couple of years of his career and call him crap. He will never be considered a great "technical" wrestler, but he is quite possibly one of, if not the most important wrestlers in the history of the business.

I may occasionally put forth the theory that he was a case of right place, right time, he was fortunate that the ball was handed to him when it was, but damn if he didn't take that ball and run like hell with it.

I understand that, but I don't think it's a viable excuse. Owen was from the exact same backround and was nothing like his brother in that regard. The whole "Best there is, best there was, best there ever will be" line was basically a shot. Bret really thought he was the greatest wrestler ever. Like, in history. I don't care how great of a wrestler you are, the second you start thinking you're better then the business itself, you're a douchebag.

Again, that said, huge Hart fan.

It's why Shawn Michaels STILL gets booed in Montreal, 12 years after the Survivor Series.

yes. I mean the man's dad was the fucking owner of the damn territory!! lol. you think he isnt gonna be all hardcore extreme traditionalist? that he isnt gonna take it seriously?

and yea, and "egomaniac" that put anyone over, and made them look like a million damn dollars doing it

he didnt though. the whole entire montreal thing wasnt even about Bret Hart, it was about him protecting the buisness. Anyone with an unbiased perspective can truly see that

The last couple of years have shit to do with anything. Does the term A Wrestlers Prime mean anything to the majority of posters here.

Hogan needs to win next year.

A) I wasn't really talking about Montreal, I was talking about in general. Hart thought he was the best wrestler on Earth in like 1987, not talking about 1997. Thinking you're better then everyone else in the history of your profession = egomaniac in my book.

B) How was Montreal about protecting the business? EVERYONE knows that it's wrestling TRADITION that when you leave a promotion, you job. If there was a wrestling bible, that would be in the ten commandments man. Hart just didn't want to look weak in Montreal, which is bullshit to me. Sure he didn't legally owe Vince anything, but it's still a BIG-TIME dick thing to do to say "Nah, fuck you guys, I don't want to look weak". For such a wrestling traditionalist, he really fucked up there.

I completely agree. Not justifying the mindset, just trying to explain it. I personally feel that the amount of negativity thrown at Hogan is completely unjustified. If you want Hogan to win next year, campaign hard for it. I'd back him.

1. Would an egomaniac job happily to anyone? Would an egomaniac make all his opponets look like a million bucks? Would an egomanica protect his fellow wrestlers SO well that he never injured a guy? Doesnt sound like an egomaniac in my book

2. no. he said he wouldnt job, becuase after he told HBK he was fine with dropping it in Montreal, HBK told him to his face that he wouldnt do it for Bret, and he wouldnt return the favor. JUST as he had when he "lost his smile". So he was basically like "fuck Shawn Micheals". He wouldve dropped it to anyone else, Canada or not.

Here's what they should have done in Montreal.

If Hart was willing to drop it ton anyone other than HBK they should have given an upper mid carder/lower main eventer fan favorite a 24 hour title reign and have Shawn beat whoever that was the next night on RAW if they desperatly needed Shawn to be Champion

None of those things have anything to do with what I've been talking about though Norcal. Hart thought he was better then everyone else. By definition, that makes him an egomaniac in my book.

So how is that "protecting the business"? If Hart was such a stand up guy, why didn't he just agree to do the job and y'know BE THE BIGGER MAN, instead of resorting to HBK's level? It doesn't matter who he was facing, he should have agreed to do the job. It's common courtesy to the promoter that you job on your way out, and refusing to do so left Vince with very little options.

I'm not denying HBK was a prick or anything, but let's not praise Hart for doing the same exact thing HBK did like Hart was doing it for the greater good. No, it was petty and meant to say "Fuck You" to HBK, which wasn't professional.

But, do we really wanna turn this thread into the 12 billionth Montreal discussion mang?

And Milenko, not giving the audience the Bret-HBK match they had been teasing for so long would've been a huge fuck-you to the fans.

or an Austin - Hart title rematch at WM14.

fucking duh. that wouldve been fucking HUGE.

Since when has Vince been against saying Fuck You to the fans when what they wanted didn't mesh with what he wanted?
