D-Man and IC25's Official NJexus HQ

I have posted a new thread in the Old School section asking which of the former ECW brought to WWE was wasted most.

Taz, Raven, Sabu, Awesome etc.

I would love to hear your thoughts guys

Hmmm, interesting. I have no idea who I'd pick, as a lot of it is personal taste (I like RVD, not an Awesome fan). I'll give it a look at the very least, Natch.

It's too bad that thread isn't in the Spam section, SOM, because that's one I'd gladly post NO for. TNA can hardly make AJ Styles marketable, and he's got more talent then pretty much the rest of the roster combined. How are they gonna make an over the hill and barely talented in the first place Matt Hardy marketable? I'll give it a look, though.

Bob Holly is easily one of my least favorite wrestlers ever. He did very little and has one of the biggest egos in wrestling. It's a damn shame he fucked up Taz's eye. I went with Tommy Dreamer because I think he's one of the few ECW guys that could have really worked in the WWE if they just used him better.

As the Randy Orton of ICE, I can safely say my life plays out exactly like Randy Orton's in the Evolution Titantron. In my wildest fucking dreams.

Do I even have to give my response to this? You know damn well what I'm doing to say about it. And I'm sure that, as usual, you'll disagree.

Word, mofo. They suck the best dick. Had my first one at her brother's wedding last year. Good times. GOOD. FUCKING. TIMES.

she did an impeccable job, this is a definate.

I made a wrestling thread today I would like to get you guys' opinions on if you got the chance.

It's the one about themese songs.

He did one thing his entire career (Underdog) and he's been living off it ever since. We're supposed to feel sorry for him despite the fact that he's a hypocritical ass who tries to milk sympathy from the fans. He's a waste of money, time and resources.

And Stone Cold didn't do one thing (successfully) for his entire career? What about The Rock? What's wrong with finding a character and playing it well?

And I don't know what you're referring to with the hypocritical ass part, please elaborate.

He left the WWE after saying that WWE had basically destroyed the ECW name and that it was wrong to dig it up and mere months later what's he doing?

Being a career underdog isn't a bad thing (look at Rey Mysterio) but it's the wayt Dreamer does is it. He cries and attempts to milk sympathy out of the fans, going so far as to get bloodied up with his family at ring-side. That's cheap and low.

Oh and here's a post from Jack-Hammer a few months back talking about Dreamer to further my point:

I thought Tommy Dreamer's promo was good in that it was emotional and heartfelt. I know that he loved ECW, but it's hard for me to be the least bit sympathetic for him. I don't blame Tommy Dreamer for taking care of his family, not at all, but Dreamer can't have it both ways. He seemed to have little problem with the destruction of the ECW legacy as long as he was drawing a nice fat paycheck from Vince. If Dreamer hadn't spent most of the last decade feeding at the WWE's tit, his words would have had much more of an impact with me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Vince McMahon doesn't deserve criticism for his handling of ECW. I fully agree that he does. But, to some degree, it sounded kind of low class coming from Dreamer. Dreamer came off last night as a hypocrite and you'll notice that he never mentioned his role in the downfall of the ECW legacy. I know Dreamer didn't decide what happened creatively, but he still went out there and did his thing with a big smile on his face. He helped shit on the ECW legacy himself. Simply put, he sold ECW out in order to get fat from working for the WWE.

I know it came from the heart and I know that Dreamer's emotions were real, but it doesn't make him look any less like a hypocrtical, two-faced bastard at the same time.

Hmm, interesting perspective, and a very valid one. Perhaps it's just the optimist in me, but I'd like to think Tommy Dreamer isn't as bad a guy as he has come off as.

He left the WWE after saying that WWE had basically destroyed the ECW name and that it was wrong to dig it up and mere months later what's he doing?

In all fairness, ECW has been successful with one night deals. The first ECW One Night Stand was a huge success, absolutely huge, and he was a huge part of it. The WWE could have left it there, but they decided to milk the ECW brand until it was dried out. You can't blame the WWE, it's a business, but that doesn't make it hurt any less for Dreamer. Perhaps when he went to TNA he was hoping that he could recapture the ECW magic that the WWE did in June of 05. It failed of course–it is TNA–but it was worth a shot.

This I don't have a problem with. Mysterio brought his daughter to the ring and let CM Punk get all creepy on her. Mick Foley took repeated unprotected chairshots to the head with his wife and kids at ringside. I don't think it's cheap and low as they're never in any horrible danger... at least any more danger than they usually are in a wrestling ring.[/QUOTE]

The Jack-Hammer post was on point in that Tommy Dreamer can't have his cake and eat it too. He criticized Vince McMahon for milking ECW for all it's worth before dumping it on the curb like yesterday's trash (Oh hey everybody! ECW is going to end in three weeks, but don't worry, I'll bring you NXT, where unknowns will cut promos about mustaches!), but didn't take any responsibility himself. It's difficult to defend him by saying that he did it for the money, because I'm sure he had already made enough money to retire from wrestling, and because ECW was never about the money, ESPECIALLY to the hardcore ECW guys like Dreamer, Sandman, Taz, etc.

But at the same time Dreamer and Vince McMahon aren't the same. Vince McMahon could have tried to keep ECW unique and marketable instead of forcing it to become something it wasn't. Furthermore, Vince McMahon's wallet was already fat, and Tommy Dreamer probably didn't see much money until he started getting used consistently in the WWE, which really started when ECW became its own brand. You can't really blame Tommy for doing it for the money, but he can't blame the sacrifice of the art solely on McMahon as it was some of his doing.

All that said, people say stupid and selfish things, and it's no surprise. I wouldn't be surprised if he looks at that speech and cringes at some of the things he says. He probably just let his emotions out, and it's totally normal to be irrational and selfish in the heat of the moment. I know I've said and done my fair share of dumb things that I wish I could take back, I'm only human, and so is Tommy Dreamer.

Meh, I think that's a fair enough opinion. Dreamer never caught my fancy anyway. In fact, before the ECW revival in 2006 I think I remembered him most from being the victim of the first Evolution beat down.

You should watch his shoot. More down to Earth and reasonable than you'd imagine.

Also, FunKay... How did you forget this?
