So my final assessment did not go as perfectly as I had hoped but with a few revisions my doctorate is in the bag.

The day got better.

A superior of mine told me that I had a job teaching seminars, maybe a lecture and some marking.

It got even better.

The same superior, after reading my thesis, recommended me to a colleague of his as a potential candidate to write a book on military history...

All in all, a good day

Very, very funny, especially if you have a bit of a twisted sense of humor. It also had tons of great action scenes, an intriguing story, and all the actors played their roles to perfection. Helps that Morgan Freeman is one of my favorite actors. I would probably give it an A, or A-.

Would have liked to have the thesis completely out of the way but my external examiner gave me some pretty good feedback and I am actually quite interested in going back over parts of the thesis again, especially if it makes it better and potentially publishable.

As for the chance to write a book, all I can say is...

I guess it called to me as my own team, Liverpool, are in the middle of a 21 year championship drought, despite still being the most successful football team in England (just).

That should tell you how far ahead we were before the drought...

Not a big baseball fan anyway. Find it and basketball extremely boring. I like American football though and take in a game or two each weekend. If only there weren't so many stoppages... Not sure if I should tell you the NFL team I would follow for fear of climbing your "Do not like" list...

Last night's Raw was the greatest episode they've had in YEARS. I was so happy that it was a three-hour special. The nostalgia was through the roof and I love all of the interaction between the legends and new school stars.
