D-Man and IC25's Official NJexus HQ

Nice job IC. The Super Friends thank you:

Mike Killman posts on here pretty often. One time I ripped a post of his to shreds and he green repped me for it. He's a decent dude.

I just made an epic post in the CM Punk vs. Orton thing. I tried to be as thorough as possible so I don't have to get in a debate with anyone as I don't really have the energy for another one of those (I wasted it all on you, Funkay), but I'm sure Nick will jump all over me for it.

Just read your article, IC. I got second-hand emotion from reading about your emotion, I literally felt my heart wrench a little bit when reading about his hug with Benoit.

I know what you mean about being nervous about these guys' well being, but I don't think it's something you should feel bad about. Whenever someone broadcasts live into your living room on a weekly basis, it's only natural that you start to feel an attachment to them; why do you think Friends was so successful? And it's even worse when you've interacted with the man behind the character, it's like you have a REAL relationship with him now.

That said, if there are any two wrestlers I wouldn't worry about, it's Mick Foley and Chris Jericho. They're not only two of the nicest guys to ever go through the professional wrestling world, they also seem to be two of the most well adjusted. Both have found success inside and outside of wrestling, and both seem to be stand-up gents. I want Jericho to come back too, but I wouldn't blame him the slightest bit if he didn't.

IC...what can I say...you take my breath away with the latest article on WZ today about Jericho's book. You basically took the words outta my mouth. I zoomed through the book in one day, I was THAT enthralled with it. Jericho is one of those people you really can't get enough of in my humble opinion.

Your expression on his point in time when he lost his friends Eddie and Benoit was very poignant. I was quite moved when I read those parts in the book. What struck me especially was his depiction of Benoit being one who would be "lost" at times. Seeming to drift in and out of anger and happiness and just kind of floating. Like he was in a perpetual state of spinning, yet with hindsight, it was the effects of his personal demons. I was especially moved by the moment when he was in the car with his son and broke down after hearing about Benoit's death, and his little boy didn't know why he was crying. :icon_sad: As someone who has worked with kids, its moving to see the innocence during a time like that.

I do agree with you that in this hectic time leading up to WM 27, we find ourselves demanding more and more, with the return of Trish Stratus, Christian, Booker T, Steve Austin, The Rock we understand that Jericho never said he was done. This is just another chapter in his life and he needs to do that chapter to continue with what he wants. Your article did make me realize that I do feel a bit guilty inside for wishing so bad he'd come back, and now I know that everything will all happen on its own timeframe. In the meantime, I can't wait to see his foxtrot, mambo, samba, you name it. Big props to you IC.

Excellent article IC. I said it in another thread, but you're the best writer on the main page.
It's easy to be the best when everyone else is horrible and/or just posting a bunch of bullshit.

This was in no way a IC is just good because he has shit competition. More along the lines of he's the only one worth reading on the main page

Hey folks, thanks for all the kind words. I had some fun writing this one. Wrestlezone.com has some terrific columnists - to be a volunteer colleague of just a handful of them is an honor.

I'm watching a tag match with HBK and Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage and Bret Hart. Four of the best of all time in the ring all together. Hell, I'm sure there are some who will argue that these are the four best of all time.

Ric Flair just went to the front rope and failed, and then Flair flopped. Beautiful. Savage just pinned HBK even though I'm pretty sure Hart and Flair were the legal men. This is WWF, not WCW!

No, it's not that great a match. I watched HBK vs. Randy Savage for the WWF Championship in England last night, now THAT is a fantastic match. The ending was phenomenal.

Yeah, but it was SO early in his career. Macho Man definitely was the brains behind that match. I've read that he was almost obsessive with his matches and wanted everything to be perfect.

It's going great for me. I had an AWESOME night, saw Red State with Kevin Smith doing a Q+A after the movie, and it was one of the best movie going experiences I've ever had, easily the best non-Sundance Film Festival experience ever. I also had a delicious dinner which is rare when you're a college student. Sure, I make the occasional culinary masterpiece (Chicken with shake and break, broccoli, cranberry sauce, carrots, and a biscuit), but nothing beats an All-American burger fresh off the grill.

IC, another fantastic article on Jericho/Benoit.

I understand your point totally where you talk of sympathy to Benoit. Ignoring what he did in the last few days of his life (which is unforgivable any way you look at it), you have to sympathise with the mental state of the man in the preceding few years as he watched many of his close friends and colleagues pass away. It must be heartbreaking to see so many people you care about pass so young.

I feel similar for Benoit as to how I feel for Bret Hart, as he suffered the same as Benoit, perhaps even more so with the tragic death of Owen, as well as Bulldog, Pillman, Hennig, Rude, and so many others. Wrestling has its fair share of tragedies, and Benoit and Hart have had to deal with more than most.

As for Jericho, I am extremely glad that he has made enough money from wrestling that he will be able to get out before he starts suffering the health problems that come with the business. He is smart enough and talented enough that he will know when to call it a day and will persue something else. It is great that he has other interests in his life, such as Fozzy and his TV aspirations, to prevent him having nothing to replace the business with after his retirement, leading to endless returns and staying long past his prime (Ric Flair I am looking at you), becoming a shell of what he was.

I hope Y2J can resist the urge of clinging on to his active career longer than he needs to, as much as I love seeing him perform. I do believe this will be the case though, as after seeing what has happened to so many of his peers, Jericho will call it a day before he suffers any permenant damage.

I say again IC, another magnificent article.

JGlass, until further notice, consider you and I to be "fighting." Call it a tiff, call it a lovers quarrel, whatever. But I will be acting like a 5th grader on a school yard with you for at least 48 more hours.

Prepare for a storm-off.

Hrrummppffff.

It's on like Donkey Kong, even though I kind of just waved the white flag in our debate in the tournament thread. I figured it was time to move on and for the most part I was just punching a brick wall and making little progress. I still think I'm right, though. Hopefully we'll disagree on another match in the near future, I think I'm doing a half-way decent job of debating you. I don't know if you remember this, but in my first WrestleZone Tournament I said Flair would beat Vader. Not only did I say Flair would beat Vader, I said he'd do it in a version of a first blood match. Now, since then I have learned many things, one of them being Vader never bleeds and leaves no man the same after a match with him, and another being that if the wind blows a little too hard, Ric Flair's skin will rip apart and blood will spill. Anyways, you ripped me to shreds in a post and red repped me for it. I've think I've come a long way.

I was tempted to make you a video of a bunch of small guys knocking fat guys off their feet and playing Benny Hill in the background, but I'm way too busy this week. Maybe next year.

And you called me Anakin, so that makes you Obi-Wan Kenobi... who's Qui-Gon Jinn?
