CM Punk WINS The WWE Championship!!! Cena fired???

So did everyone forget that when Punk said "Douchebag" the sound went out to censor it? They could've cut the promo at any point in time. /shrug

Fantastic promo, regardless.

The only reason I think it was legit is cause he ripped the network. Everything else was a work up till that point.

If he isn't fired by wwe, he will be by USA.

You think so? I mean, WWE is pretty much the highest rated anything on USA. they could say "take him off" Vince could say "fuck you this is gonna get you ratings, take him off and ratings go down, you lose money" and they would lose money. Money>everything.

Besides, he will be "fired" or "suspended" lol.

First things first, this thread is being viewed by over 3400 people. Holy shit.

Now that that's out of the way, I LOVED this! On Twitter he talked about how he could pretty much do anything he wanted since he's leaving, and this was just one example. He can talk about whoever he wants, shit on whoever and whatever he wants, and can pretty much do anything he needs to do because he's leaving in 3 weeks. And while yes it is a worked shoot, that doesn't mean it was all BS. Alot of the topics he bought up have been widely discussed by the IWC, and I think this is just a way of reaching them all and getting interested, because as lot of us most likely know, they can sometimes be very hard to please. From the faces of the company, to ass kissers, to fans, to the network, and to everything else, CM Punk just shat all over in one freaking promo. One of the many questions I have after this is where will it lead? From what I'm reading he's been "suspended" from the WWE for this. So what does mean for his title match? what more could he do or say after this promo? But all I know right now, is that this is amazing.

This was the best thing in Wrestling taking shots at everything and anyone, he just said everything the IWC was saying, this was a brilliant work. Who said WWE lost it's edge(no pun intended)? They had to have sanctioned this; of course it wasn't real but it felt real. For the veteran wrestling fans this was... captivating and I'm glad Punk was the one to do it. WWE realizes that Punk is their BEST asset. Their heel, you can't applaud Punk with out applauding WWE.

In addition to the Bourne vs Cara, Riley & Rey vs Miz & Swagger, DDP's surprise appearance etc. RAW did a lot of good tonight.

WOW this must be many people's first times watching wrestling and seeing a good promo.

1. This is not BEST PROMO EVARZ!!!!! You just haven't seen a good one in so long that this blew your mind. It was great no doubt, but not best ever.

2. This is not a legit off the cuff shoot, he wouldn't have gotten it on the air, and he would be receiving his walking papers right about now.

3. Its called a worked shoot, we used to get them all the time back in the day when wrestling was entertaining and the talent was allowed to have some say in their promos and story lines.

4. They are playing up to the message board and internet crowd because they aren't stupid. They know Punk has a fan base and this is how you reach them.

5. Before it happens, he will either not be on the show next week to give the illusion of a suspension or firing. He will be back either the next week, or maybe they keep him off till the PPV. WWE will release a statement about a suspension to make it look legit.

It's all an angle settle down please.

Please don't forget not everyone has seen the best promos you have and maybe the promos you think are great other people consider absolute garbage. People are excited let them be. I know it's a work but some people get happy seeing this and let them. I like seeing happy wrestling fans instead of people bitching about it constantly.

Ok they censored out when he said douchebag, and other than that what did he say that would have pissed Mcmahon off? That his daughter is an idiot (which she is) and his son in law was a dufus?? Years ago Stephania was called a **** on live TV, plus numerous other things! Plus no remembers all the similar promos in the early attitude era days. I remember Jeff Jarrett specifically when he returned in 97 from WCW cutting a similar promo, not only trashing WCW, but Vince, and the WWF! Check out some old DX promos from 97 as well! Punk is an incredable talent, to good to just be let go! If this is the end for Punk in the WWE then WWE deserves to be made a fool of and embarressed!

I've been watching wrestling for years and I got to say this was the best SHOOT promo's I have ever seen, surpassing that of Scott Steiners on Ric Flair. To the people that think this was real, just wow.... The mic would have been shut off 30 seconds into the promo.

I agree with everyone that says they aren't surprised by the best promo coming from CM Punk. He has been doing great promo's since basically day 1. His "birthday" song for Rey Mysterio's was my personal favorite promo of his up until tonight. I too hope this leads to the pg era getting risen just a bit and we see more CM Punk air time... This was my favorite ending to Raw since the Nexus debut in quite some time.... hope they keep the ball rolling with momentum from tonight.

Over the last few years of somewhat predictable and bland programing on WWE's part, a few moments REALLY stick out to me:

1.)Bret Hart's return
2.)The introduction of Nexus (tearing down the ring)
3.)The Rock's return promo
4.)Punk's promo tonight

This was an absolutely brillant worked shoot, delivered by unquestionably the best promo man in the game today.

I feel I should take this opportunity to point out something to a lot of people though, the reason this promo is so shocking and feels so fresh is because it breaks from the normal climate of WWE's PG programing. So for all you clamoring to go back to the attitude era, just remember that a promo like this wouldn't have anywhere near the impact of feel as special if that kinda stuff happened every week. Birthday cake is delicious once in a while, but if you ate for every meal you'd get sick.

Okay, dude, we get it. You think you're smart. Yay you.

Of course it was an approved promo. Do you think for a second they'd let a true blue disgruntled employee air dirty laundry on the air like that? Jesus, man, how stupid do you think people are?

Iunno, look at how many people who still think Cena wants the IWC to cheer him. Or the people who think this is a shoot, or even question that it is. So yea, based on evidence, I think people here are pretty fuckin stupid most of the time.

Oh my God, that was so great.

From the ROH/Colt Cabana mention, to calling out Cena, Rock, and Hogan for brown nosing, to talking about taking the belt elsewhere....it was great.

I can't tell if it was a shoot or not, but I sure hope it was legitimate.

Talk about a mark out moment...

yeah... I'm guessing its a work, solid.

the fact they put it up on WWE that soon......they had it ready to go.

My guess is Punk resigned, pushed hard to do something with SCSA and this is the lead in to a feud . He wanted to do something with Austin and i bet they negotiated that as part of his deal.

boost in ratings? Are you kidding me? you think Punk can shift ratings? He hasnt in 6 years. just because Internet fans start tweeting doesnt mean the ratings for Raw changes.

I think it will after this. You're right to an extent though, the internet shits it's pants doesn't mean ratings will go up because the IWC is such a small portion. It does stir interest though.

Another way you know it's a work is he didn't let the IWC cheer, he tried to keep his heat by ripping "you people that cheer me" also. Such an awesome promo.

that was an awesome ending
like someone said earlier
since the nexus debut(which i only watched that episode to see rampage jackson)
that got me hooked on watching RAW every week again
and now this
cant wait for next week

My jaws just dropped. It was like daaaang. It reminded me of some of the promos done during the attitude eraand other organizations during the period. Like when the Undertaker first came out of character, Mankind anti hardcore promos in ECW, Hulk Hogan promo when the NWO first formed. I was in awe; even my kids got dead silent during Punk's promo. Now that's what's wrestling's all about. Punk's the man.

Punk did a fantastic job on that promo and that's the bottom line. He spoke the truth and I wish it could've went longer. Vince does have a bunch of "YES MEN" and Dwayne does not belong in the main event @ wrestlemaina. Now I totally understand the dollar value of the Rock vs Cena match but give it to someone who's worked their butt off throughout the year

The fact that some people question whether or not this was real or not really makes me think kayfabe is NOT 100% dead afterall. Watching this- it's just amazing. I don't think anybody could've even dreamed of this.

This was a real fucking shoot. Vince would never approved this. He mentions Heyman, NJPW, ROH. THAT'S NEVER SCRIPTED. !!!

Such a noob you are. Learn from the past and know your history, then you will realize that Vince is a business man and will do anything for sucess. Whether thats swallowing his pride or getting beaten to a bloody pulp in the middle if the ring. Take it from the old timers...this is all scripted and done perfectly because it has internet smarts like you questioning it. What a great night.

Great promo but to think he is gonna take the belt to any other promotion like ROH is just crazy. He was allowed to mention ROH and NJPW because they are viewed as no competition to WWE and most people in the crowd would likely not even know what he is talking about.

THis is the reason there was no mention on TNA because outside of WWE they are the most exposed and recognizable promotion after the WWE.

TNA is no threat to WWE but they are certainly the closest thing to it so of course they could get no mention ever on WWE programming. However, ROH is a much more "safe" mention because they are non-factor.

It was a truly magical promo that got me scratching my head thinking about how genuine it was. How much of that did Punk believe? It was a work, but man was it believable and executed nicely. I'm interested in this storyline tenfold now.

Oh pleasse.....before the Rock left he busted his ass for years. he earned what he got and where he's at. How long has Punk been there?

You can not like Rock all you want, but don't tell me he didn't earn what he has.

Same thing with Cena,...Is he a man of a thousand holds...no but the guy always does what he has to , keeps on rolling and is dependable.

To clarify, I think he probably got going and accidentally inserted the word "crappy" into the USA statement. But that is pretty much rule 1, don't knock
The network. The ratings wont matter when someone says all the other shows are crap. If I was the network executive, he would be gone.

Wow. 3000 people viewing this thread. WWE has a winning segment. Anyone want to bet that TNA is gonna try and copy this somehow. Not trying to bash TNA, but, almost everytime WWE does something right, TNA jumps on it and tries to re-create that magic somehow. If only TNA could just create their own magic...

This is exactly what Brian Pillman did all those years ago. "I respect you booker man!" is one of the all time great worked shoot promos, he tripled his stock, went to ECW and ultimately WWE. He made a fat paycheck and became one of the first real "smark" heroes. I love what Punk did, although he is not leaving the company permanently, he gave them just enough of a taste of all the money they will be missing out on if they let him go.

The reason the Punk would mention ROH over TNA, is because he knows, no one in their right mind watches TNA, because its garbage.

Colt and Punk are close friends, and Punk has said several times that he's surprised/pissed that Colt hasn't been hired by the WWE by now. Punk also got his start in ROH before coming to the WWE.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vince was funding ROH in some way, he needs the competition to keep his product fresh. During the whole Invasion Era part of the store was how Vince was funding ECW towards the end. There is currently nothing to challenge the WWE, thats why it been in a down trend for some time now.

wow
i knew the holier than though people were going to come out.

"you guys are stupid to think its a shoot. Im smart and your dumb."said the douche

Just because you think you know how the business works and you think because once or twice you may have spotted a worked shoot then your automatically right. No. You can say what you want, but this is the first time something of this magnitude of a shoot or worked shoot has happend in the wwe since maybe the montreal screwjob interview with vince. And since then the wwe has become a publicly traded company. And i dont think punk basically calling out the company on its short comings would sit well with the stock holders.

Well i rambled on a bit. All i'm saying is maybe its a shoot, or maybe its not. So don't be cynical assholes because you don't know the truth your self's.
