I agree with Kapu, that the ODI series wasn't disappointing. If you think about it, everyone expected India to be totally thrashed and humiliated in the series, but the Indian team was actually able to bring the matches right down to the wire, and would have crossed it too, if the bowling attack wasn't so toothless. I'd call this tour a success overall. We have 4 wins, as do Australia.

We were fortunate to get Khawaja relatively early into his innings; he turned Bumrah to gumrah in his first over. Aussies' overconfidence also led to this historic defeat. They took winning for granted and thought that they could field any team on any given day, and would still win. Obviously, that wasn't gonna happen forever.
The World T20 will be a challenge, but we will have home ground advantage on our side.

I hope they keep Yuvi for World Cup as his bowling in all T20s has been awesome and the only batting he did get was today and he didnot disappoint.

Marquee Players

Yuvraj goes for 7 crores to Hyderabad,
Pietersen goes for 3.5 crores to Pune,
Watson 9.5 crores to Bangalore,
Ishant 3.8 crores to Pune,
Nehra 5.5 crores to Hyderabad,
Dwayne Smith 2.3 crores to Gujarat.
Dale Steyn 2.3 crores to Gujarat.
Surprisingly, Guptill and Finch went unsold. I hope that they are picked in the second round of the auctions; they were two names that I was really looking out for.

Pretty low amounts for Yuvi & Pieterson comparatively to the previous ones.

Both are way past their prime, so I'm not too surprised. I expected Pietersen to go for a bit more than that though. Guptill went unsold at 50 lacs. There is this pattern in IPL auctions that everyone remains silent at first. Just as the auctioneer is about to declare the player unsold, someone bids something, and then another party starts bidding too.

Is Watson still the most expensive, or did anyone go for more than that?
The auctions are going really slow right now... They are auctioning Praveen Kumar for around 10 minutes now.
Sold to Gujarat for 3.5 crores.
Tim Southee sold at 2.5 crores to Mumbai.
Ashok Dinda unsold at 50 lacs.

Btw, it's worth noting that Khawaja went unsold too. Arguably the biggest surprise of today's auctions.

Jaydev Unadkat (that fast medium bowler formerly from RCB, with 32 wickets from 36 matches) just got sold for 1.6 crores to Kolkata Knight Riders. I understand that these guys won't leave the tournament midway to fulfil international duty, and the 4-player rule doesn't apply on them... but it sucks seeing world class players going unsold, just because of that. The best performers of the IPL since its inception- Tanvir, Gilchrist, Gayle, Pollard, AB- they're all foreigners.
