2014 MLB Playoffs LD

Dodgers ate starting Ryu tonight, so hopefully he can keep St. Louis at bay. Big emphasis on "hopefully".

Can the Cards rock Kershaw again and advance to their fourth straight Championship Series, or will Kershaw have redemption?

Well once again the Dodgers fall short. I'm guessing Mattingly will be axed within the next day or two.

The Cardinals in October are like Jack Nicholson or Warren Beatty sauntering into the Academy Awards. Missouri is buzzing for the right reasons for a change.

I think I say this every year. The champagne celebrations are way overdone in MLB. I don't want to be a party pooper but going from the LDS to the LCS is not enough of an accomplishment in my opinion.

And this has nothing to do with it being the Cardinals tonight. I'm happy for them. No really, I am. Good for them for getting to the NLCS. Again. Stupid Cardinals. I hate them. I hope they get swept by the Giants or Nationals. They need a long playoff drought. What was my point again?

Everything you just said. And then some. Go Os' or Royals.

Edge robs Edge.

I know a lot of people, including Edge himself says Jayson Werth looks like Edge. I always thought Hunter Pence looks a little like him too.

Props to Dan Duquette for locking up J.J. Hardy. We've got all the key pieces signed up, save Cruz. Baltimore shouldn't be baseball purgatory again for a good long while. Hopefully ever.

This feels like Christmas Eve. My hat is off to the Royals. It's damn near impossible for me to gin up any sort of anger or ill will toward them. May the best team win. Let's make this a regular thing.

Just saw that myself. That was big for them. Gotta say though, as a Redsox fan I won't complain if Cruz was to leave the AL East. Not having to face him 19 times a season would be great.

Also the bolded part makes it sound like the O's lost already. :p

Ride's gotta end sometime, but be assured that I'm confident in my team. No, I was just being gracious. If this were Orioles/Red Sox, it'd be a different story, but I know how Royals fans feel. I even tried needling Nate, but honestly I'd be happy for him and all Royals fans if KC won. These are two teams following the Major League script, serving up a shitburger to all the doubters. Hard to root against either even as a diehard fan of one.

I'm rooting for a 7 game ALCS with extra innings in each one. I'm a bastard like that.

As far as the NLCS, gonna root for the Giants because Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner are two of my favorite players in the game right now.

Eh, I'm not overly invested. I'm not really a baseball guy. This is just the first time the Royals have ever made the playoffs in my lifetime so I'm jumping on the bandwagon.

Now that I think about it, the only Royals game I have ever sat through prior to this post-season was a Royals/Cardinals game I went to the day before my 21st birthday. It was terrible.

Point is, there will be a lot of people who will be more depressed than I if they lose.
