Cards take 1-0 lead, stifling the Giants comeback attempt. Giants had me uneasy all night and battles Cardinals pitching very well. This series could likely go to a game 7.

Holy shit, Holliday messed Scutaro up. In my unbiased opinion as a Cardinal fan, that was a questionable slide on Holliday's part but he was still over the base I don't agree the way Matt turned his body.

Funny; Tigers swept their way into the World Series in 06 as the Mets/Cards played on to 7 games. It seemed like the long wait hurt them.

They may find themselves in the same situation with how the Cards/Giants have been battling.

That has to be the best sign I've ever seen. Cabrera hit a HR, and they showed a sign with an illustration, and it said "I don't always wear a crown, but when I do I wear three. Fantastic stuff.

As I discussed in the non spam MLB thread, anyone who acquires him has to platoon him at 3rd/DH, reasonably, if they want to get maximum production at third. He's only a liability against lefties. I can't see why any team in the world would take that kind of salary just for a platoon player. The Yankees should adapt to the unfortunate reality they're in and platoon him (ideally with Chavez if they re-sign him) - if they can manage to get anyone to take A-Rod and his enormous contract, it will be simultaneously the masterful (for the Yankees) and most idiotic (for whoever gets him) transaction in the history of baseball.

I was hearing that the most anyone would offer A-Rod would be a 1 year 5 mil deal. Meaning the Yankees would still be paying like, 75% of his contract next year.

That's true, but there's a problem of how much is too much. Paying for an effective platoon player is a lot different than paying for nothing at all.
