WZCW Show Reviews

Meltdown 61:

-The opening bit with Ty Burna was really well done. I like the dialog between Ty, and Titus a lot. And a bit of humor from Saboteur is always a huge plus.

-I can never really understand Titus's mood. He is either upset, or mad at someone.

-Speaking of Titus, as much as I love the "I'm coming back for my World title" speech. Not having him in the Unscripted tourney makes it all just sound like hot air. Does Titus have some devious plan for Ty Burna for the upcoming PPV?

- The match order was well done. The rookies Stark and Hershamuareas had a great match and defintely helped me focus into reading more of the show. The match was great and it didn't take away from the rest of Meltdown. Well done!

-The interaction between Baller and K.O was mixed for me. I like how it proivdes a bit more mystery into the mind of Chris K.O. And it also showed confidence from Baller going into his match. However I felt that if Baller could have talked more about the 2.97 incident it would help push his case.

-I hate squash matches, and I also begin to see why you writers hate no-shows. King Shabba was one of my personal favorites. It's a shame to see him fall off the the grid and begin 3 minute squash matches.

-I think entrances could be a tad longer. Or at least add the music for some of Superstars in the match. You don't need a paragraph for each Superstar but something would feel better. A little more never hurt anybody. :)

-S.H.I.T a heel? No, I can't fathom the idea. I am too big of a S.H.I.THead to have to boo him week to week. But with a star like S.H.I.T who has a move-set exclusively for one guy you handle his multi-man situations well.

-Blade is a great champion. The match ending with a draw is a perfect way for the feud to continue and it adds further tension to their rivalry. Do I see a title change in the near future?

-Sigh, another no-show in Jackson Williams. But having Reynolds beat both Jackson Williams and Ewan Kampa was good for Reynolds. Although I thought Ewan was injured right? Is he going to be gone from WZCW just like Williams. I thought the two would make a good tag-team and help the division, oh well.

-Toyota and Barbosa is becoming one of my favorite feuds. Their matches weither it be a Tag Team or against each other always feels like match of the night. Great job folks.

Overall it was a great show after a PPV. Honestly I can not wait for the next episode.
8/10

Ascension 35:
-A simple tribute to the victims of 9/11 I know several members from creative are not from the United States and were affected by the events that day so having this little bit at the start of show was heart warming. My hats off to you guys.

- Ahh the match that stole the show, Ricky Runn against Stantime. Like on Meltdown, you pick the best match to warm the readers up for the show by having a well done, well written RP. A few mistakes in spelling, (It's Ricky Runn, not Run ) But other than that the match flowed nicely and in pace.

-The one thing you guys seem to do best is progress the plot and the story behind every character. And having Ricky Runn and Reynolds team up for an improb match next week might seem rushed, but it works considering the end of the Forgotten Powers.

- Holy smokes Batman! Where did Scumm go after Baez got himself involved in the match? Next thing I know, Scumm seems to have been swept under the rug and Baez and Titus are going at it.

- Chris K.O is becoming a powerful force in WZCW. His writing and your booking is making Chris K.O into a Legend Killer 2.0 And with the recent return of several legends. This can be open season for the young star.

-After the main-event that was it? No promo, no video package. Nothing to hype up next week's Ascension? I feel there could have been more.

8.50/10

[Random thoughts, comments, criticisms. Please ignore grammar or spelling mistakes due to my lack of sleep.]

Opening Promo

 • Good opening with a recap of Apocalypse’s main event. I’m not going to lie, I wish Ty Burna could of held on a winning streak until Kingdom Come III. It would have been an epic night for someone to break the streak.
 • This line from Cohen: “Yes but the question now is ‘is there anyone in WZCW who can stop Ty Burna?” is epic.
 • Great opening promo by Ty Burna. It is very well written and –
 • Titus?
 • I don’t really understand Titus’s intrusion from a critical standpoint. Titus throws a threat at Ty Burna, but he is not even involved in the main event picture at Unscripted, nor will he be at All or Nothing. This promo just seems very out of place considering what happened on the both shows later on.
 • From a kayfabe point of view: Titus/Red Mask just lost to Baez at Apocalypse. I know Titus is a legend, but does he really think that he can intimidate Ty Burna at all? Ty Burna has been an uncontested WZCW World Champion for a year.
 • Moving on…
 • Saboteur came out and I knew the moment he was introduced that he was going to be involved in something big tonight. His own youtube music entrance thing signaled off that he earned it somehow. Either that or I thought he was getting special treatment.
 • Good promo, I felt like the match would have had more build if Saboteur went solo in this promo. Cut Titus out all together.
 • It would have also been nice to see little snippets of Saboteur preparing mentally/physically backstage through out the course of the show.

Hiraku Susumu vs. Alexander Stark

 • Two rookie heels going at it? Hard to get the crowd involved when you have two apparent “douche bags” that are relatively unknown. The audience doesn’t have a reason to hate them, which gives them no reason to care.
 • Solid match. It was written in way that showed us both wrestlers proportionally. Neither of them looked weak.

Baller & Chris K.O. Segment

 • Funny heel-to-heel bro talk. I felt like Chris K.O. sounded kind like a black guy in this promo, but it’s all good.
 • Very interesting with the paper Chris K.O. found. Was it Baller’s? Was it someone else’s? Was it put there on purpose? Good suspense.

Everest vs. King Shabba

 • Dang… King Shabba what happened?
 • (I hope this doesn’t mean he is out for good)
 • Good squash match for Everest. It’s always good that these legends get some of these every once in awhile in order to re-establish their dominance.
 • And there is my boy Chris K.O. running down the ramp, snatching all your Everest up. Hide yo kids, hide yo wives, he’s coming for you.
 • I’m not going to lie, I’m really liking how Chris K.O. is being used with this angle. He is being very well written on the show. Much applause to all of creative who has worked with him.
 • I like the fact that Chris K.O. is taking a side route on his journey to the top. He isn’t taking a direct plunge at the WHC. Which there is nothing wrong with that, but I think it’s better that he becomes established then goes after the gold, rather than getting a big push and burning out.

Separate Segments with Blade & S.H.I.T.

 • Blade looks cools, smoking that cigarette and what not.
 • S.H.I.T. needs a new name in my personal opinion. The pun is beginning to ware off.

Jack Skinner vs. Sean Cruz vs. S.H.I.T.

 • The first of many triple threat matches this week. (I think something needs to be done. Way too many multi-man matches. The roster is packed, but what to do? Maybe a sister show like Velocity or Heat where the younger stars can reign?
 • S.H.I.T. is heel? No way.
 • S.H.I.T. can copy people’s moves? That’s actually very interesting.
 • Sean Cruz wins with a roll up
 • A well written match, but nothing to flashy here. Sean Cruz is finally making it in the singles division. Let’s hope that he can keep it up against Bowen. :S
 • I think it’s going to be hard to write S.H.I.T. into some good storylines. I think the best bet would be to place him with a dictating heel in a tag team.

Scott Hammond Segment

 • When I first read the show this show actually got me pumped up for a match that I had not cared about before hand. No offense to the writers or the people involved. It just wasn’t a match that I was excited about tonight.

Scott Hammond vs. Blade ©

 • Title is on the line, that’s nice.
 • Short match ending in a draw. Neither men look weak.
 • Blade gives a confusing offer to Scott Hammond. Hammond is confused and so am I.
 • It sounds like Blade wants to form a tag team or some kind of stable with Hammond. I’ll have to keep my eye on this.

Sean Cruz, Chuck Myles, and Action Saxton Segment.

 • Good segment to reveal Sean Cruz’s prize. Saxton’s random appearance was funny, but his dialogue was kind of killed with a typo.

Mr. Baller vs. Black Dragon vs. The Internet Warrior

 • The second triple-threat of the batch.
 • We found out that Black Dragon won an opportunity to be in this match because of his win in the dark match. I wish this would have been announced in a backstage segment or something. I know that creative was trying to keep the idea a surprise, but I don’t know. I guess it was only a dark match.
 • Lol at “Time 4 Bed” finisher parody.
 • TIW was written very well in this match, he literally acted like a nerdy wrestler who got over excited.
 • With the help of a basketball, your winner Mr. Baller! Very unique finish! I like it.

James King Segment

 • Very sad news dealing with Alhazred.
 • This is going to give James King a very nice drive in his upcoming matches.

Austin Reynolds vs. Two Jobbers

 • Who is Ewan Kampa?
 • Classic “heel is full of himself” routine that cost him the match.
 • At least Kampa got some tv time.
 • Austin Reynolds should enjoy this easy night o—
 • OH NO IT’S JACKSON WILLIAMS
 • Oh wait, nope. He’s gone.
 • “You’re FIAHED” – (Spell check?)
 • Funniest thing I’ve read on the shows so far. “A stage hand enters the ring and sweeps Williams out of the ring with a broom and underneath the ring before burning the broom and washing his hands with hand-wash.”

Wasabi Toyota & Barbosa vs. The Forgotten Powers

 • I watched Toyota’s full entrance music. Cheers!
 • Poor James King. He is so down.
 • This match was relatively short, which is what I expected since James King was completely disconnected from the match because of recent events.
 • Toyota apologizes for hugging James King. I can dig it.
 • Barbosa is such a creepy character. The writers really do a good job with him. He reminds me of a smeagle.
 • Toyota finally has enough of Barbosa’s crap and goes crazy on him. Great end to the match. Looking forward to these two and their feud.

Saboteur vs. Ty Burna

 • Again, the entrance music kind of indicated that Saboteur was going to win or something.
 • This match had very little build, and it’s sad because of the end result.
 • Both men look very strong, but I can’t help but think that Ty Burna looks weak because of that. Ty Burna has been the undefeated champ for a year, and he is loosing to a rookie?
 • The ending was very well written, and the match all together was very solid.
 • I can’t believe that Ty Burna lost clean to Saboteur. I don’t understand why Saboteur didn’t win with the help of some face character. But with what you guys had planned, you couldn’t have had something intervene without a story line ensuing. Maybe Titus could of interfered or something to correlate with the opening promo? I don’t know
 • Great show regardless!

Ascension 36 Review Coming Soon!

Ascension 36 (Review)

[Again, please ignore my spelling and grammar mistakes. I have been running off little sleep today so I have not had the full ability to go back and accurately proof read my work]

Opening Promo

 • Love the 9/11 tribute. Really glad that you guys did this. Made the show seem real. I’m not embarrassed to say that it gave me goose bumps.

Ricky Runn vs. Stantime

 • Ouch, what did Ricky Runn do to deserve this? I’m sure he probably asked for it or something. How ever it came about, he took it in full stride.
 • Loving the manipulation that Showtime has over Rogers.
 • Ricky Runn and Stan Rogers both look good. Ricky Runn’s impressive move set could lead him to a huge crowd following
 • Ricky Runn comes up a short.
 • A Stan Roger’s heel turn? Don’t do it Stan!
 • What a douche ba--- IT’s AUSTIN REYNOLDS FOR THE SAVE!
 • You guys are loading the deck in this tag team revival project. Having two main-event talents leading the tag division is not a bad start.

James King Segment

 • Another segment dealing with King’s loss.
 • Call me crazy but there is something interesting going on here. I wonder what the test message said and who sent it.

Johnny Scumm vs. Titus
 • Johnny Scumm, welcome back to your first match since no-showing on our team. Good luck.
 • Titus entrance was a good nod at his determined spirit at the moment. Clearly set on turning his luck.
 • Cohen: “That’s not more focus. That’s anger. Titus is probably furious that Saboteur defeated Ty Burna before he had a chance to end his year long undefeated streak.”
 • ^ I could possibly see a feud unravel between Titus and Saboteur because of this. Good build material.
 • Titus controls most of the match, with little retort from Scumm.
 • Is that Red Mask in the crowd? Are we going to see a Kane vs. Kane type of feud?!?! Nah, it’s just Baez.
 • Was a win at Apocalypse not enough to suffice Baez?
 • Baez and Titus are going to fight until one of them is dead. Should be interesting television!
 • Oh ya! Where did Johnny Scumm go?

Showtime & Vance Bateman Segment

 • Some typos in this segment. Nothing big.
 • Should be an interesting tag team title match next week. Which team can build the stronger bond?

Steamboat Ricky vs. Chris K.O.

 • The moment we have all been waiting for!
 • A very good match this one was. Very well written and pleasing to both superstars in their performance.
 • I’m a bit surprised that I won cleanly here, but I’m not complaining. I was expecting Everest to come out and botch interference for me to pick up a win.
 • Everest runs in at the end and checks on Ricky. I feel like you should have just kept Everest out of this since he just needed EMTs the night before. Since he didn’t get involved the match, I felt like he should have had the excuse of not being capable of helping at all.
 • Chris K.O. goes over here and looks strong. Good chapter in the Chris K.O. versus legends angle.

Bateman, Titus, & Baez Segment

 • Minor typos again, this time a little more damaging to the segment.
 • Wow, a tag team match with Titus and Baez at a team. These guys have so much bad blood that I can’t possibly see them being able to even compete before going crazy on each other.

Sam Smith vs. Steven Holmes

 • Good solid match. The writing is solid as well.
 • Sam Smith and Steven Holmes put on an above average performance.
 • A message appears on the Titantron. Next thing we know the lights are out and Sam Smith just got racked in the nuts!
 • Steven Holmes for the win!
 • Steven Holmes looks good and hopefully this unknown entity doesn’t affect his Elite X title opportunity.

Baez vs. Action Saxton vs. Dr. Steven Kurtesy

 • Another Triple Threat.
 • Titus returns with a vengeance. Giving a beating to his future tag-team partner. Creative is doing a good job stirring the pot between the two.
 • Kurtesy has to put Old Yeller down.
 • Good match between the three. None of them looked weak and Kurtesy looks good going into a soon to be revealed championship match.

Ale vs. Alex Bowen ©
 • Mayhem Title is on the line.
 • I like the fact that they used the shopping cart from Ale’s roleplay.
 • Very intense match. I always love reading Mayhem Rules matches.
 • Ale throws Bowen off the stage. Bowen makes an incredible kick out!
 • Interesting end to the match, made Ale look good in a loss. It took several chairs, but Alex Bowen reigned supreme in the Mayhem Division.

Big Dave vs. Gordito vs. Chris Beckford

 • Very good main event. Probably the best written out of all the Triple Threat matches.
 • Kudos to everyone who wrote them though, they all flowed rather well.
 • Good to see Big Dave gets a shot at the championship despite losing his KFAD contract.
 • Bateman comes out and sets the build for the road to Unscripted.
 • I like the little Chaos symbol flashing at the end. Ty Burna may have lost to Saboteur, but don’t forget that the guy is fricking genius.

This is a Meltdown 61 Review.

Opening- Let's start with the most important thing... how you wrote Saboteur in the opening! Well done Showtime! I'll be honest, I had my doubts that anyone would be able to write Saboteur in a segment on WZCW TV, but you did it. Killing a horse is VERY Saboteur, as is threatening to soil Ty's shoes. The whole opening was good, including a very calm Ty, and a clearly peeved Titus.

Stark vs. Japanese Guy- A heel vs. heel faceoff is tough to play out in the ring. To be honest, I would have liked to see Stark be a little more dominant. It seems like a great way to start off a heel career would be to have a dominant win, but I suppose Stark might not be that kinda wrestler. We'll see where he goes from here.

Baller and KO converse- Good buddy-buddy, heel-heel conversation. Simple and to the point, both cocky heels showing the confidence they should.

Shabba/Everest/KO- Shabba just got GOT! I guess that's what you get for not writing your RP, eh? Total humiliation. On the upside, Mr. KO is one of my favorite new guys, and it's good to see him getting from Everest. If anyone is gonna give out psycho beatdowns, it's Chris K.O.

Skinner/S.H.I.T./Cruz Triple Threat- I enjoyed the fact that there were points in this match where all three guys were involved. Unlike a WWE or TNA triple threat where it's very difficult to have points where all three competitors are active, but you guys did a decent enough job. Not a spectacular match, but not bad either. Glad to see the most senior guy go over here, not that the other two guys aren't damn good at what they do.

Eurasian Title Match- This was one of my more favorite matches, mostly just because of how it went down. Totally ruthless outing by Blade who'd rather take out his competition than win. A smart, but despicable heel tactic to be sure. No idea what Blade is thinking with that offer, and I have no idea what Hammond is going to do with it, though I'd hate to imagine what Blade would do with a man of Hammond's talents.

Baller/Dragon/TIW- I didn't really like the ending to this match, it seems like most matches have these counter endings. Dragon also was written sort of oddly. He kicked total ass in the early parts of that match, but then was a non-factor in the last third or so. Could have been better, but not bad either.

The Austin Reynolds Debacle- I was not a fan of this, sad to say. It seems like bad WCW stuff with the second match and what not... but I did like the way Jackson Williams got fired, it made sense. Still, poor Jackson Williams... Wait, did he ever even show up for a match?

The Kings for a Day vs. James King- James King never stood a chance against two of the most dominant forces in WZCW, and that's how it was written reflected that. Barbosa's actions were fiendish to say the least, absolutely detestable. Meanwhile, Wasabi Toyota showed the gentle giant he was, but he took care of business like he needed to... but even gentle giants have their limits, and Barbosa certainly pushed Toyota to them! I'm excited to see what's going to happen between these two. The water in the part is starting to boil... when's it gong to overflow?

Saboteur vs. Ty Burna- Simply beautifully done, and I'm not just saying that because I got the win... or at all really. The build was phenomenal, even before the match itself, I got the feeling that this was serious business. Maybe it was just because I was in it, or maybe it was because of the way the camera followed Saboteur, a normally pretty private guy, on his way to the match, or because the crowd was dead silent before exploding for Sabotage and Saboteur's entrance.

The match itself was a ***** match, no doubt. There were moments that Ty had the win all but wrapped up, moments that Saboteur had the win all but wrapped up, and at the same time both men looked like they were unstoppable forces, like the match would never end. Whenever one man got close to winning, something happened that blew the match wide open again.

I know I was sort of skeptical of reverse endings earlier, but if ever there was a place for one, it was here. The might Ty Burna and his streak could not be ended by one man, it need to be perfect, at the exact right moment, and whether it was by skill, luck, divine intervention, or the alignment of the cosmos, Saboteur somehow managed to be in the right place at the right time at that moment, and he did exactly what he needed to do to get the win.

Overall it was a pretty freakin' awesome show with three matches ranging from solid to awesome, and really only one match being sort of lack luster in my opinion. Well done gents.

[Random Thoughts, Comments, and Criticisms]

Opening Segment

 • Chuck Myles kicks us off in a classic GM opening.
 • Good job outlining all of the big matches for tonight.
 • Serafina flashes in.
 • Serafina flashes out.
 • Small typo in this segment. Nothing really damaging, but the numerous typos add up in the overall show.
 • Chuck Myles leaves in a pissed off mood. (Note: This segment and other comments from people in the fed made me realize how similar Bateman and Myles really are. I think they could use some kind of diversity split. I think this could happen and still leave enough tv time for other people. Is Roster Split an option?)

Big Dave, Kuresy, and Voice Segment

 • I realize now that Ty Burna is very good with electrical wiring.
 • Ty Burna is up to something mysterious as always.

James King vs. Brad Bomb

 • I thought James King was face? At least his roster page said so. *scratches head*
 • OMG BRAD BOMB RETURNED.
 • WHO?
 • Let me take this time to say that the ring announcers are always used very well. Not to much and it always adds to the match.
 • 1st Part of the match is written well. Each superstar gets a two count.
 • 2nd part mimics the goodness of the first.
 • Good flow to the match. Very well written.
 • James King vents his real life frustrations out on Brad Bomb. Here is a pro-tip for you James King. Never mix your personal and business life together.
 • James King loses by DQ with a chair.
 • Brad Bomb gets the upper-hand in the end.
 • Good match!

James King Segment

 • Who is the mystery guy? AHHHHH I WANT TO KNOW!

Hiraku Susumu & Alexander Stark vs. Titus & Baez

 • Interesting combination in the form of Titus and Baez.
 • Titus and Baez seems to be the real story here, but we also see a development of a young tag-team.
 • Baez no shows? What a jerk!
 • Good display of the 2 to 1 ratio in the match.
 • Titus is feeling the weight of the odds.
 • BULLDOG BY TITUS!
 • Titus is going to beat the odds!
 • NO WAIT
 • It’s Baez!
 • What a nice guy that Baez is. Finally coming to help his partner with the match.
 • Oh, Baez screws it up.
 • Titus gives Baez some hard lovin and the match goes to the young rookies!
 • Another good chapter in the Baez vs. Titus feud.

Sean Cruz vs. Alex Bowen (Mayhem Title)

 • Alex Bowen is my hero.
 • Sean Cruz whips out his sword.
 • Alex Bowen says, “Put that away.”
 • As always, Mayhem Rules matches are my favorite.
 • Lol at Bowen signing the chair. Classic!
 • A few typos in this match.
 • The sword returns!
 • Great job portraying Sean Cruz in this hardcore environment.
 • BOWEN RETAINS!
 • Great respect segment at the end!
 • Alex Bowen is the king of Mayhem.

Mr. Baller Segment

 • Baller talks about his “wins” over Ricky.
 • Great cocky machismo. Good job writers.

Blade vs. Steamboat Ricky

 • Unfortunate for the no show.
 • James King!?
 • Are him and Chris K.O. in cahoots together?
 • Interesting…
 • Blade with the cheap win!
 • I don’t know what Blade is getting at here. Is he forming a stable?
 • He is a lot of talk, but where is his action on these things like Chris K.O. and James King have done?
 • I’m interested in seeing how this unfolds.

Gordito, Chris Beckford & TIW vs. Action Saxton, Black Dragon, & Saboteur

 • I don’t understand why the entrance was like this. One grouped and another separated.
 • Great multi-man tag match. It flowed well.
 • Chuck Myles comes out to give us the results of the poll!
 • “It was a very rushed type of match.” -Chuck Myles is a douche bag.
 • TIW and Chris Beckford say goodbye to their storyline!

Wasabi Toyota & Barbosa Segment

 • Barbosa is so creepy. I can’t help but think of smeagle.
 • Great segment and it was fun to read.
 • Ladders at the end? I see what you did there.

Mr. Baller vs. Big Dave

 • Great back and forth. Both men look great.
 • Main-event worthy match here. Good writing.
 • Faulty wiring comes into play again!
 • Baller gets the win!
 • The show leaves us with a curious mind towards what Ty Burna is cooking up.

Reactions: Lee
Unscripted 2011 (Warning, this is going to be a bit disconnected and informal.)

I have mixed feelings.

For one thing, I was very excited to see Cruz win the title. And then I go back to the front page to see he's been stripped of it. Disappointing. Cruz is a fun character, something I think WZCW needs more of. Some of you guys are just so serious! "Oh look at me, I'm super dark and EXTREME!!" Too much of that, not enough partying.

Shame Saxton didn't get voted into the match. I'm sure I'll figure out what to do from here. I also think Big Dave winning the title throws a wrench into the Gordito/Ty feud which would have been money, figuratively speaking. Of course, I have no problem with Gordito winning considering I love Jose and Gordito. I wish it had been one of us who had broken Ty's reign. That would have really been quite something, story-wise, an untested (save for Gordito) superstar grabbing the brass ring. Alas, such is life in WZCW, one has to book RP-to-RP, and Phoenix did deliver in the world title match. There's something to be said still about Ty losing it at the PPV he won it at.

What was with the mystery tag team thing? I mean, congrats to MOM, since I'm a huge fan of Remix and his character, and I feel he and Harthan have something potentially great going on, but come on. We were promised a mystery tag team, not a surprise triple threat. I was expecting some team to return after MOM won or something. Total letdown. Could have given us the Apostles or a Michaels & NorCal cameo or something. would have been fun. People voted for a mystery tag team under the pretense that there would be a mystery tag team. False advertising, I'm going to sue.

I just don't get Sam Smith's appeal. I'm sorry, he's like the Davey Richards of WZCW or something for me.

It's nice to see Titus finally pick up the win he deserved. Hopefully this Baez feud is over now and Titus can move on up. Or maybe at least to something more interesting. Before Unscripted I really was just not feeling this story, at all. The luchas de apuestas helped it out quite a bit though.

Barbosa's victory was well-deserved and a long time coming. Too long.

Nice to see the title off of Ty, even if it wasn't in a way I had hoped. Nothing against you, Ty, I just love new champions. I was actually rooting for Baller. How great would that have been, eh? Baller, from joke to world champion, defeating the invincible Ty. Shenanigans would have abounded and it could have been brilliant. Imagine the promos! That said, Phoenix knocked it out of the park so it was good to see him rewarded. Again, if it couldn't have been Baller or a tournament member, at least it happened a year after Ty won the title. I love a good bit of congruity.

The matches were all written well, but still I feel an obvious disconnect in Creative's different parts. You can tell who values match moves over story, blow-by-blow vs. emotion, etc. You guys should really try to get on the same page and make the whole show feel like it was written by one person. It's nothing huge, but it's the small things that really count. Things like whether pins should be counted dramatically or on the same line. Things like what the ring announcements look like. Things like whether you're going to use themes for everyone or no one. What gets bolded, the format of commentary - There's just enough disconnect to make the show feel a bit wrinkled.

I know I sound like I'm savaging it, but really all in all Unscripted was a great show. Some very exciting matches and results occurred, with new champions and interesting swerves everywhere. I do love the fan-vote style of making matches, even if it means I get screwed out of a victory. ;)

Final Grade: A

Random Thoughts, Critiques, and Comments.

Opening Segment

 • Always great usage with flashbacks. I’ve never seen a point where you guys abused this writing tool for your shows.
 • Right off the bat we get banter from Copeland and Cohen concerning the World Heavyweight Championship match.
 • It was great to finally see a stable promo from the Apostles. They formed the on the end of Ascension before Unscripted, so this is the first taste we got of them fully.
 • Very cultish, just as I would picture it.

The Internet Warrior vs. S.H.I.T.

 • S.H.I.T. is face now?
 • I really like S.H.I.T.’s robot malfunctions that explain his mess-ups in the match. This has been done well in every match he has been in.
 • Cohen hates them both.
 • S.H.I.T. got racked on the top turnbuckle! Wait... does he have balls?
 • Warrior is taking to the house!
 • S.H.I.T. pulls a head chop out of no where and picks up the win!
 • His first win since Austin Reynolds!
 • Cohen still hates them both.

Holmes & Becky Segment

 • Holmes is pissed that his brother scheme didn’t work out.
 • Brad Bomb is gonna get got.

Steven Holmes vs. Brad Bomb

 • Holmes works the arm.
 • Holmes has the tight!
 • Match made me dislike Holmes more. It is always good when a writer can draw heat to a heel.

Chris K.O., James King, & Serafina Segment

 • Ty Burna has bigger plans, no surprise here.
 • WOAH! Was not expecting that call part!

The Apostles of Chaos vs. Steven Kurtesy & Everest

 • Everest vs. The Apostles once again.
 • Will this man ever die?!?!
 • Everest looks good in the early part of the match. Like a legend should.
 • Fatigue is displayed very well in this match.
 • I just realized how much fun it is to read the matches out loud like an actually play by play announcer. Am I the only one who has discovered this?!?!
 • Prescribed Sedation out of no where! Classic!
 • Hot tag is displayed well!
 • Everest is in! Oh snap!
 • Pipeline of Pain baby!
 • Great match, with a few minor spelling errors.

Titus and Baez segment

 • What does Titus want Baez to do?
 • Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z!!!!!!
 • Oh hey, it’s Black Dragon.

Titus vs. Mr. Baller

 • Baller is slowly becoming one of my favorite personas in the WZCW.
 • Good back and forth between the two.
 • And Copeland agrees!
 • Titus has control now.
 • Until Baller pulls off a superplex from the top rope!
 • Red Comet from Titus, and the win!

Gordito and Klamor Segment

 • Old friends.
 • Good banter between the two.
 • Kind of awkward placing for a plug for the main event at the end of the segment. Maybe one of the contestants might have been in the segment.

Gordito vs. Barbosa

 • Interesting match up between these two contenders for the WHC.
 • Both competitors coming out strong, looking to build their momentum.
 • Chinlock for the win?
 • One…two… NO Gordito’s arm is up!
 • WOAH! Baez just nabbed the KFAD briefcase!
 • Gordito takes this opportunity to pick up the win.
 • What will this action by Baez bring about?

Blade and Leon Segment

 • Blade says he is not a fluke, but will he retain; coming up next!

WZCW EurAsian Championship: Blade vs. Scott Hammond vs. Black Dragon vs. Chris Beckford

 • A title match to send the kidos home happy, sweet!
 • And the match begins!
 • Hammond looks to be in control early on in the match.
 • So far this multi-man match is easy to follow.
 • Hammond’s internal struggle of doing right or wrong is the central point of this match. Very entertaining stuff.
 • Dragon and Beckford seem to dispose of Blade.
 • Ref says that Dragon’s foot is under the rope. Earl Hebner is that you?
 • Hammond gets screwed and goes irate!
 • Black Dragon is our new WZCW EurAsian Champion. Well deserved.
 • Very easy-to-read multi-man match.
 • Cheers!

Opening Segment

 • Nice video, I’ve never actually watched the opening video before. Looks great.
 • Great, glad to see Dave since he didn’t show up on Meltdown.
 • Dave is grateful, but Burna is pissed.
 • Burna says this ends now, I mean later.
 • Good short promo to build hype for tonight’s main event.
 • Bowen is still Mayhem champion? I thought Cruz was just stripped?
 • Connors calls Bowen the mayhem champion a bit prematurely.

Sean Cruz, Vance Bateman, Alex Bowen Segment

 • Something fishy is going on here.

Sean Cruz and Armando Paradyse vs. Alex Bowen and Johnny Scumm

 • This match has some very interesting team dynamics.
 • Animosity between Cruz and Paradyse. Good stuff.
 • Cruz has enough and knocks Paradyse out!
 • Good amount of time is being given to each superstar. Kudos to the writer.
 • Some funny spelling errors in this match.
 • Paradyse looking strong in the ring.
 • Cruz goes SuperCruz and clears the ring, as well as Scumm’s head.
 • Paradyse picks up the remains.
 • Good storytelling in this match.

Titus and Barbosa Segment

 • Titus admits to having Baez steal the briefcase.
 • Anti-climatic.
 • Titus says he wants to be the next one who steps into the ring, but Gordito is the next #1 Contender.
 • ???
 • Titus vs. Big Dave/Ty Burna next show?
 • Barbosa seems a little weak to just let Titus hold onto the KFAD unscathed.

Baez vs. Sam Smith

 • Baez is now a free man and looks to start off strong with a win.
 • No offense, but I know that Titus and Baez were in a drawn out feud, but I felt like some fun segments/situations could of been derived from Titus having his contract. Maybe Titus could of even sold/lost his contract to another superstar in order to develop a feud between Baez and that random superstar. Just my two cents.
 • Baez looks strong until a counter by Smith. Spine buster baby!
 • Woah, John Constantine!
 • Smith wins by DQ.
 • Constantine and Holmes working together?
 • Politicians…

Action Saxton and Saboteur Segment

 • A little banter before their match, sucka.

Wasabi Toyota and Jack Skinner Segment

 • This made me cry.

Wasabi Toyota vs. Jack Skinner

 • Turn match for Skinner.
 • Farewell Toyota. I listened to your theme music as I read this match. Gave me goose bumps. The first person that I connected to that has left the fed. Will be missed dearly by me. Love your character.

Ricky Runn & Austin Reynolds Segment

 • Austin tells Ricky to watch out.

Saboteur vs. Action Saxton

 • I’ve been waiting for this match since the All or Nothing tournament started.
 • A lot of energy is shown between the two.
 • Saxton with some headbutts.
 • Saboteur picks up the win.
 • I feel like more fun could have been done with this match considering the two men who were in it. Great match regardless, though.

Mind Over Matter & Leon Segment

 • Really glad we got this. I’m really interested to see who MOM is. I know we can see this by reading roleplays, but I like to see them develop on WZCW TV, too.

MOM & Ale vs. Showtime, Stan Rogers, & Ricky Runn

 • Should be an interesting 6-man tag match.
 • I smell that Showtime will be the death of his team. STAY TUNED!
 • Stark gets an early upper-hand over Cougar. Cougar is pissed!
 • A lot of cobweb shaking tonight.
 • Here comes my boy Ale!
 • MOM & Ale seem to be in control.
 • Wait, Ricky counters MOM’s finisher!
 • Rogers is in the ring now.
 • So is Ale! Battle of the giants!
 • WOAH, Big power bomb by Rogers!
 • Classic Showtime tags himself into the match to receive all the glory.
 • Ricky, Stan, and Showtime win the match!
 • MOM is ticked and plan to end Ricky here tonight.
 • Wait! It’s a bird, it’s a plane! No it’s a newly married man! Austin Reynolds!
 • Good to see the tag team division thriving.
 • Great match! I really enjoyed reading this one.

World Heavyweight Championship: Ty Burna vs. Big Dave

 • Oh snap.
 • New theme by Big Dave to commemorate his achievement, but is it in vain?
 • Some championship quality writing here.
 • Burna opens up Dave.
 • Ty Burna is in control.
 • Big Dave counters with a Stamp of Authority!
 • Ty Burna kicks out!
 • Yea! Nay! Yea! Nay! Yea Yea Yea! Nay Nay Nay!
 • Big Dave is building some momentum now. Can he run with it?
 • The Apostles come out to distract Big Dave!
 • Concentrated Banishment!
 • 1
 • 2
 • KICK OUT! OMG WTF BBQ!
 • Ty’s going for another finisher. No! Reversal! No! Another reversal!
 • Nail biting stuff here!
 • Ty prepares for the Super Concentrated Banishment!
 • NO!!!
 • Ty Burna turns it into the Stamp of Authority and makes the cover!
 • 1
 • 2
 • 3!!!
 • Big Dave retains in a one-on-one match against Ty Burna!
 • The test has been passed, but where does this send Ty Burna and his clan too?
 • Big Dave now must get ready for Gordito!
 • Great main event and great show all together.

Opening Segment

 • Meltdown 65 is a go-go.
 • Blade to start us off.
 • Blade says he is freed from mid-card purgatory.
 • Are we getting another heel stable?
 • WHY SCOTT WHY?
 • Another heel.
 • Great opening promo with these two potential main-eventers.
 • Blade’s character just strikes me as a WHC contender.
 • Interesting to see if this will cross with the Apostles.

Alexander Steele vs. Johnny Scumm vs. Armando Paradyse

 • Great booking with these three lower-card talents.
 • Great chance for one of them to shine tonight.
 • Great start to the match. Everyone is getting an equal amount of action.
 • “Steele calls for the finish and picks up Steele, going for the Facebreaker, but Steele holds onto the ropes!” –Typo
 • Good looking triple-threat match here.
 • Steele with the Twisted Steele for the win.
 • Big win for the young face to come out on top of the two heels.

Black Dragon, Becky Sierra, & Scott Hammond Segment

 • Setting up for the job.
 • Blade and Hammond back up their words with actions.

Sean Cruz & Everest vs. Alex Bowen & Baez

 • Interesting tag team here with Sean Cruz and Everest.
 • Sean Cruz is slowly becoming one of my favorite faces.
 • Great chemistry is being displayed through the writing.
 • Baez looked great in this match.
 • Woah, Baez face turn?
 • No really, it’s a face turn. We just witnessed Baez’s, I mean Matt Tastic’s, face for the first time.
 • Yay for rebalancing the heel to face ratio!

Scott Hammond vs. Black Dragon

 • Blade will join us on commentary! MARK OUT MOMENT!
 • Dragon looks weak, but not totally pathetic.
 • Good writing here to handle a no-show of someone who had a lot of momentum going for him.
 • Chris Beckford runs down to the ring and foreshadows his future involvement of this feud.

RRR & Becky Serra Segment

 • A little hype to continue the feud. The match is coming up next!

RRR vs. MOM

 • I wonder what the stipulation will be.
 • Reynolds has a lot of experience versus the other participants in this match. Let’s see how that translates into the writing.
 • Ricky and Reynolds look fantastic together.
 • MOM responds with some impressive ring work.
 • Reynolds is getting man-handled by impressive team work.
 • Hot tag changes the momentum!
 • Ricky loses it for his team again.
 • Great build-up for their match at AON.

Barbosa & Titus Segment

 • Looks like we got Barbosa and Titus set for AON!

Saboteur vs. Dr. Alhazred

 • Should be interesting to see what role Alhazred plays in the next few rounds.
 • Interesting chemistry we have here.
 • More Cowbell!
 • Ladies and gentlemen, James King has arrived. Now things are going to get interesting.
 • Alhazred is distracted by King. It’s going to cost him the match!
 • King pulls out the ref as Saboteur tries to cover Alhazred!
 • Saboteur wins by DQ.
 • What the hell is going on here?!?!?

MOM & Leon Kensworth Segment

 • Great segment to show off MOM.

Big Dave & Gordito vs. Ty Burna and Barbosa

 • Great main event we have here. Very well written.
 • Big Dave tries to be the hero?
 • Cost him the match and we get a little tension between Gordito and Big Dave!
 • Cue the Apostles!
 • Hide yo kids, hide yo wives, the Apostles of Chaos are gonna find you. Run and tell that.
 • Overall: This was a very well written show. I literally do not recall more than two typos in tonight’s show. Great job guys.
 • The lack of “speed bumps” really help the show run smoothly!

Opening Segment

 • Opening segment with an opening typo.
 • Ooo! Bateman is here to make an announcement.
 • The Apostles are apparently too hardcore.
 • Announcement concerning Kingdom Come! Oh snap!
 • An “all or nothing” match is booked. I like this idea because it helps get some of the other guys on the card.
 • Interesting idea with having the EurAsian championship defended in a tag match.

Mick Overlast & Justin Cooper vs. S.H.I.T. & Jack Skinner
 • “lackadaisically” –epic choice of words.
 • Lol, I always love the way that S.H.I.T. is written.
 • Random thought while reading this match. I think it would be cool to make the finisher’s name stand out in the match’s text. Just an idea.
 • Very entertaining match here, good to see the faces pick up the win. (I’m just really big on faces winning right now because of the numerous amount of heels).

Alex Bowen & Sean Cruz Segment

 • Sean Cruz looks good here as he beats down Bowen.
 • I’m really excited about this future match.

Showtime vs. Stan Rogers

 • Interesting booking we have here. I would have expected this to be a PPV match.
 • Good looking match we got here.
 • The match ended just how it should of.
 • Showtime refuses the match at All or Nothing!

Baller & Leon Kensworth Segment

 • It’s always good to see some roleplay scenario dipped into tv time.
 • I hope this doesn’t hinder anything Baller had planned in future RP’s.

Mr. Baller vs. Chris Beckford

 • Well, here we are.
 • Some good back and forth we got here.
 • Some interesting words being used in this match.
 • Sunset flip powerbomb!
 • Mr. Baller pulls off an upset with a backslide. Jeez.

Apostles of Chaos, Serafina, and Ty Burna Segment

 • Ooo! I’m smelling a big angle coming from Ty.

Brad Bomb & Steven Kurtesy vs. The Apostles of Chaos

 • How come the music videos aren’t centered like they usually are?
 • Who else must fall in order for these guys to stop fighting the Apostles? Bahaha!
 • The Apostles are looking good in the opening of this match.
 • A very fun match to read, but I’m probably a little bias because my character is in it. Still great regardless.
 • The Apostle’s tag team skill really showed in this match. I’m really impressed with that.
 • Oh snap, Kurtesy vs. Chris K.O. next week!

Blade vs. Action Saxton

 • This whole situation with Blade and Hammond really intrigues me.
 • Momentum is written very well in this piece.
 • Woah, what is going on here? Why is King out here? Things are getting interesting.
 • Blade picks up the win, via a distraction.
 • Alhazred joins the fun and now this leaves Chris K.O. with an interesting scenario.
 • So many things on my mind now.

Stephen Holmes & Constantine vs. Titus & Sam Smith

 • Good to see Constantine back.
 • Original stuff with Constantine clapping his hands for the “tag.”
 • Very long match here, but definitely main event writing.
 • Sorry if my focus on this match seemed a bit skewed. I’m still buzzing over the scenario that happened earlier.
 • Concerning the credit section. I know you were joking about the donations, but I would actually be willing to donate some money to you guys. You do a lot of work for nothing, and if the option ever becomes available to donate some cash to creative. Count me in.
 • Great show altogether. Looking forward to next round as I think a lot will be answered and revealed. Cheers.

Lethal Lottery IV

Opening Segment
It was nothing fancy but it got the job done and did it well. The look back at past Lotteries was nice, as well as having the three winners each speak a few lines.

The segment with Ty and Showtime was the same. It wasn't fancy but got the job done fairly well.

B+

Mayhem Open Challenge
Good match. Would have been great if I was in it lol. Seriously though I like how it was a hardcore match but didn't go overboard with weapons.

I love the Spanish announce table jokes. Growing up that was one of my favorite running gags and you guys continue it and I applaud it.

Finish was ok, could have been better but it wasn't horrible. I just wasn't a huge fan of it being done on the tables. Still a solid match, very good for an opener

B-

Ty and Bateman Segment
I'm still new to the fed but I already love Ty's character. A classic heel authority figure and it gets written well. I liked the history lesson going back to last years Lottery. I have never been a fan of guys saying "I want to regain my title, but thats just nitpicking on my part.

B+

Eurasian Championship: Dragon vs. Crimson vs. K.O.
From what I understand there was a no show. I won't grade because of that but the segment was a good save, as well as the follow up

Tag Team promo segment/Matt Tastic promo
Runn Reynolds Runn is an interesting team. You have an experienced vet in Reynolds and an up and comer in Runn. I enjoyed how you use their dual personalities in the interview and I feel like the difference in experience and demeanor really comes out well. Very well written

The Tastic segment was another that wasn't flashy but it did the job well. Typical #1 entrant stuff

A-

Tag Team Championship: Runn Reynolds Runn vs. Sons of Destiny

Exciting match with some near falls and close calls. You had the typical tag match staples. The hot tags, the double teams, the heel distractions, the inadvertent face distractions, the isolation of one partner. You also had some of the staples of the agile and speedy guys vs. the strong and bigger guys.

Finish was good. So long as the finisher reversed into another finisher isn't overused it makes for a powerful and exciting end

As I stated earlier, I really like how the contrast in experience comes out with RRR. It adds a nice touch to both matches and promos.

B+

Kurtesy/Blade backstage promo

I liked Kurtesy's speech. The title has been jumping around a lot lately so it was both relevant and it got the point across.

I also liked Blade's segment. I would go so far as to say I enjoyed it a little more than Kurtesy's promo. You really got a feel for his character and his role as a leader.

A

Elite Championship: Holmes vs. Gordito

Another great match. It had some good back and forth. I really had no clue who would take home the strap.

Again I liked the spot with the Spanish announce table. Putting someone through an announce table is always a good spot and while I usually dislike it outside the main event, as it was stated this match could main event lesser shows and it worked out ok.

The finish wasn't the best but it did work coming from a guy like Holmes. Not everyone could pull that off but he can and did.

B+

Barbosa/Rolling Ball sgement

Probably the weakest segment of the show. Not to say it was bad it was just largely average.

The Barbosa promo was short and to the point.

The scene with the ball just seemed generic. Again it wasn't bad it just didn't do anything special. It made sense in the course of the night but when I first read it I was a little confused.

C

WZCW Heavyweight Championship: Kurtesy vs Barbosa

A good old fashioned steel cage match done well. It had high spots, it had drama, it had near falls.

Both guys gave their all, as they should have and it was very well written in that regard.

I think the finish was cliche, but it happens a lot in real life so its hard to knock it. Cliche as I feel it may be it was still a good spot designed to get a big pop to finish a good match.

Personally this was my favorite non Lottery match of the night

A

Baller&Bateman backstage segments

The Baller segment was average. It was a good filler and made for a decent comedy bit. Nothing special but it wasn't bad

C+

The Bateman/Hooded Figure segment was another that was ok. It advanced the mystery entrants story line, but it didn't serve much else of a purpose IMO. Like I have said, it wasn't bad, it just didn't do much for me

C+

Lottery Match

This was my first Lottery and it was fun. Aside from the Brad Bomb oversight it was well written.

Some of my favorite moments were(in no real order)
1) Triple X saving himself again and again and his spot with the table
2) Mr. Baller and his spot with the stretcher
3) The spot with Runn Reynolds Runn. The drama was built nicely and then we got the let down of Ricky being thrown over just before Reynolds could do anything. Then the rather quick eliminated of Reynolds added to it.

The only things I would suggest would be to
1) Make it a bold point when someone is eliminated
2) Maybe try to keep a timer on the match so we can see how long people stay in. Maybe give guys a higher time spent in based on the quality of their RP
3) I feel like the near eliminations happen a little too often. However a lot like the end of the cage match, it happens quite a lot in real life so its hard to knock the creative staff for something that actually happens

A

Overall
It was my first PPV show since I joined the fed so my perspective may be a little off but it was a fun show. I really enjoyed it and aside from the Brad Bomb oversight in the Lottery, which we had some fun with in the discussion so it wasn't that bad, I didn't notice any major mistakes.

A

Damn, nearly 4 months since a show has been reviewed! I've been impressed with the feedback creative has been giving to the RP'ers, so I think you guys deserve some too. I'm going this LD style, giving feedback as I go, so if I say something was confusing, only to figure it out later, you'll see that happening.

MELTDOWN 75 REVIEW

Opening- Good opening. Not mind blowing, but this isn't a particularly special episode of Meltdown, so it didn't have to be. Ty Burna played the douchey owner role brilliantly, and the announcers were used well.

Williams vs. The Angel vs. Krypto- How do you guys decide whether someone gets a big reaction or a small reaction? Is this something you base off of RP strength, or did Williams just get a small reaction because he's a rookie? I ask because it might be a subtle way for creative to show what they thought of the RP. A good RP would get a big pop/heat, while a lackluster one would get a slightly more mum reaction from the audience. But I digress.

The match was kind of sloppy, though a lot of that could be chalked up to confusing writing. Writing for more than two characters is always a challenge, and you need to take the necessary actions to make sure the audience knows whom you're talking about. For instance, this paragraph...

When both men begin to recover, Williams is already on his feet. Angel receives a snap powerslam but isn’t covered. He is focussed on Krypto and he drags the alien-man to his knees, adding in slaps to the top of the head for good measure. He goes for an inverted facelock but Krypto blocks his attempt to develop the move and hits a simple elbow to the gut. Williams tries to hit an atomic drop but Krypto kicks off the ropes and then hits a springboard kick. Angel comes back into the ring and uses the ropes to hit the Godsault on the floored Williams. Krypto falls to the floor and crawls across and lays a hand on Angel as he covers Williams, 1....2.....Williams kicks out!

It sounds like Angel is the one looking at Krypto, not Williams. It's also not clear when Angel left the ring.

Also, you identify Angel as, "The masked man," at one point, when both he and Krypto are masked wrestlers.

It was an okay match that was made confusing by the writing. I think there were too many spots with all three guys involved. It would seem as though those are challenging to write, and Numbers wasn't up for that challenge this week. These things may have looked clear in your mind, but were difficult to imagine based on your writing. I would suggest focusing more on spots that only feature two wrestlers, and use those 3-man spots sparingly.

Brad Bomb vs. Drake Callahan- This was a pretty good match, but just too long. When you pull out a knee reversal to a high flying spot in the middle of the match, you know you're doing too much. You want the drama to be constantly building thoughout your story, and it sort of spiked there before lulling, only to pick back up again.

The ending was very cool. I liked the transition of a reversal immediately into a submission hold. The post match helped establish Drake as one hell of a nasty heel, though I can't help but feel bad for Brad Bomb after that type of humiliation. I could see a little feud broiling here, but I wouldn't be surprised if Drake has his eyes on bigger things, like a shiny gold belt.

Backstage segment with Chris KO and Ty Burna- It was very good and very creepy, but I couldn't help but feel like it could have been dialed up. Maybe Ty strokes Serfina's face only to have Chris KO slap his hand away. Ty Burna is at a point where he's so evil, even a heroic action wouldn't be enough to phase him, and he could still have his cocky walkaway.

Strikeforce vs. H.S.T.D.- Doc and I forgot to get you our name this week. Whoops. You guys did a great job covering for us though, as both Doc and I dug our team name.

This was a very good match. There was a good amount of back and forth, but not so much that it becomes annoying, like in the Bomb vs. Callahan match. Every guy got a chance to look strong, and the ending, while a little messy, was pretty convincing for a regular weekly match.

I was a little confused by the post match, but I suppose that's just regular old Saxton/Saboteur bickering, a staple of their friendship.

Backstage segment with Rush and Leon- I don't understand why Leon hasn't quit yet, poor guy get's beaten up on every week. Short and sweet, not much to say about that other than it did a good job building up Rush and the upcoming match.

Matt Tastic vs. Rush- This was really poorly written. Just from the first paragraph...

Tastic grabs a head full of hair and hits pulls it down to hit a backbreaker on Rush.

Looks like you had one idea, came up with a better one, and didn't delete the entire first part.

Again, Rush pushes him away enough for Tastic to use it for momentum and run off the ropes.

You can't use a verb.

Tastic gets to the ropes and pulls himself up as Rush measures him up

This isn't the only time you repeat words. While not technically incorrect, it's sloppy.

You also pulled out the ten count way too early. By my estimation, it would be in the first 5 minutes of a 15+ minute match. I implore you to find one (good) real wrestling match that would use that spot so early in a match.

Pretty good ending: your standard finisher reversal, though I would have liked to see Rush win with one of his finishers and not a modified move, but that's a personal preference I suppose.

Still, the match was inexcusably poorly written, with grammar mistakes and typos galore. Such a monumental match deserves a careful proofread, which this match clearly didn't receive.

The post-match stuff is pretty cool, though the idea that the crowd could pick the real Black Dragon apart from 3 other doppelgangers is silly. Why not just have him enter through the entrance ramp with music? Or maybe the lights go out and Black Dragon appears in the ring while the three lookalikes are still outside? Maybe he hits one of his finishing moves to signify that he's the real deal.

Basically what I'm saying is, you guys did a very nice job setting up the feud for the belt, but the execution could have been better.

Backstage segment with Celeste and Titus- Like the other segments this week, this one is good, but not mind blowing. Still, I thought this one was particularly good, definitely enjoyed Titus being the gentleman and Celeste being a bit of a bitch.

Celeste vs. Titus- The description of the reactions to Celeste's entrance was sort of silly. How would the camera be able to pick up a handful of smarks that heard backstage rumors silently judging her?

I could tell within the first paragraph that Harthan wrote this match. I don't know how or why, but I could. I think it's because it was very thorough.

It was thorough throughout the entire match, and that was a huge plus. At this point, it was probably my favorite match on the card. It was the easiest to follow and imagine actually happening, and that made it more fun and more gripping.

My only suggestion to Harthan would be to call what move the wrestler is going for even when it is reversed. I get what you're doing, as the audience would have no way of knowing what move was being attempted if it wasn't hit, but when you're writing a match it helps the reader imagine what's happening. For instance, when you said...

she staggers to her feet, he closes, he grabs her by the head to get her set up for something! But Celeste breaks it up, gets away from Titus, leaving him alone in the center of the ring.

It leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Did he have her in a headlock, a nelson, did he just have his palm on the back of her head? Did it look like he was trying to lift her, push her, or pull her? Was he in front of her or behind her? If you said he was setting up for a bulldog, we'd know that he'd have his arm around her neck and he was coming at her from behind. If you said he was going for a DDT, we'd know he was pulling her head towards him. I get that you were trying to take a realistic approach, but it hindered your match in this case.

Backstage segment with Ty Burna and Austin Reynolds- This one was very good. It felt cinematic almost, like when one bad guy convinces an "on the fringe" bad guy to do something super evil. Good stuff.

Austin Reynolds vs. John Constantine- I want to start by saying I'm not a fan of when Showtime just calls moves without using names. Most of the time I can tell what's going on, but it seems lazy. Sometimes it's just awkward and sort of kills the momentum of the match, like here...

John surprises Austin with a Drop toe hold. He then starts to position Austin, trying to lock in a STF. Reaches and grabs onto the ropes and pulls himself forward.

I know it's Reynolds that's reaching for the ropes, but it's sloppy writing, as not only is the second sentence a fragment, but it would also be referring to Constantine, not Reynolds.

That said, I did like the dichotomy of this match. The speed vs. strength angle has been done to death, but when done well it can be a thing of beauty, and it was done fairly well in this match. Reynold's use of speed to evade Constantine's attacks was crafty and frustrating, but when Constantine finally got a hold of Reynolds you could tell that the tide was about to turn.

However, the ending was confusing, and sort of illogical. Why would Reynolds get himself DQ'd and then just leave? I get that he's going through some stuff, but after Ty Burna's pep talk, it seems as though he should be fully committed to going bad. The slow turn isn't doing anyone any favors at this point, as we all know what's coming.

I liked Holmes' involvement, though. His interference was small, but it wound up being what decided the match, and the post-match submission wasn't too brutal, and as the reader I found myself wanting more, which is good. I hope to see this feud's epic conclusion at Redemption.

Backstage segment with Barbosa- Creepy.

Barbosa vs. Ty Burna- I feel like people should throw stuff at Ty Burna more often, like water bottles and popcorn and stuff. He's like Hitler dressed as Dr. Doom. That's how I would define Ty Burna.

The introductions to this match might be a liiiiitle over the top. My favorite part...

This typhoon of negative energy descends upon Burna who cares not, making his way to the ring as hell itself comes down on top of Barbosa who seems un-phased by all the grandiose.

This may be a bit of the ol' hyperbole, but damn if it doesn't make for an entertaining build-up!

This match was very good, and probably the best match from an emotional standpoint. While I didn't think FunKay did quite as good a job as Harthan at calling the action, I think he did a phenomenal job at selling the story of the match and the emotions that came with it.

One of the few criticisms I have is that sometimes I think FunKay tries to work in lines that really have no place in the match just because they sound good. I think we all fall victim to this when we do our RPs, but calling Barbosa a "former monarch" is just confusing, as it took me a few seconds to realize you were referring to him being a former KFAD briefcase holder. These types of things interrupt the flow and take your audience out of the story. Other than that, though, this was a very solid match. You definitely lived up to the hype setup for you.

I don't know if this was FunKay or Ty or whoever, but someone fucked up the sing-off line. It's not that big a deal at all, but an easily avoidable mistake.

Overall- Top to bottom this was a good show with two or three really solid matches and only one that I thought was really crumby. The show did a good job building the feuds going towards Redemption, and it even provided a great match for the WZCW history books in the Hell in a Cell match. If I had to give the show a letter grade, I'd probably give it a B+. A few really high points turned what was otherwise a pretty average show into a very good one.

Barbosa's Less Random Than Usual Feedback: Hell in a Cell Edition

- this is not going to be as in-depth or widespread as the Classy Ones feedback

- I would imagine that this HIAC would be considered reasonably short compared to others in WZCW and IRL; however, I do not think that it took anything away from the story being told. If anything, it made Barbosa look all the more dangerous in being able to brutalise Ty in such a short amount of time.

- however, at the same time, Ty was shown as the devious, well-prepared and opportunistic SOB that he normally is, especially with the slamming of the door in Barbosa's face.

- I am not sure if Funkay will thank me for saying but there were a couple of things in the match that were my suggestions for spots (I will leave the readers to figure them out) but my favourite bits from the match were actually nothing to do with my suggestions.

- I thought the foreshadowing of Barbosa's freak out on the referee and Ty with the member of the crowd, as well as the reminders that this kind of thing had happened to Ty before (showing that WZCW has a memory lasting longer than a PPV cycle) was clever writing.

- I was also very pleased with Barbosa's attack on Chris KO. It keeps Barbosa in this ridiculously ill-defined position with the fans. On the one hand, he has just beaten the biggest heel in the company inside HIAC which they want to cheer him for but at the same time, he remains a psychotic bastard who attacks referees, supposed allies, crowd favourites, interviewers, priests and probably little old ladies (unconfirmed) with little or no provocation.

- not all that sure that HIAC brought the Barbosa/Ty storyline to a complete end; although it might create some separation between the two in the near future. I could see Ty ushering Barbosa towards Showtime should the latter win the title in order to keep the maniac away from his dealings with KO; plus there is something to spark such a feud as Showtime might not have gained his title shot had Barbosa not butchered Black Dragon at KC - perhaps we shall see a Triple Threat or even a Fatal Four Way at Redemption - Barbosa vs Kurtsey vs Celeste vs Showtime

Meltdown 76

Opening Segment
Nothing fancy here, just a pretty basic opening. In my time here I've basically come to expect Ty to be in the opening, especially since he took complete control of the company. Its usually works well. Since this wasn't a PPV or a landmark episode it doesn't need a big fancy opening and this did the job.

Brad Bomb vs. Alex Bowen
I may have missed it in the buildup because I struggled with my RP this round and didn't pay much attention to much else but aside from Bowen being in it, was there a reason this was Mayhem rules? Just seemed random.

Dave wrote this particular match and it lived up to his standard. Rarely does he write a bad match.

The opening sequence was good. Very realistic and easy to picture. One of the things I do when I read matches is picture the characters actually wrestling in my head and a good match allows me to easily do that.

"The crowd takes a sharp intake of breath as Bowen hits the canvas clutching the The King Of Mayhem's crown jewels"
This line made me laugh

I still enjoy chair shots to the head in the fed. Its not real so we don't have to worry about concussions and having our own Benoit down the road.

Also a fan of the match not ending on a finisher.

Reynolds/Serra backstage segment
Numbers is a guy who has helped me out here and there in my tag team career. Add into that the fact that Pancake and I have become friends and I am very interested in the Reynolds/Runn feud. Doesn't hurt that Strikeforce was the team to finally knock RRR off and kickstart the feud and Reynolds attitude change.

The segment itself was good and served its purpose.

The one criticism I have is that the non match buildup has favored Reynolds. There are still two shows before the PPV so you guys may have something planned that I'm not aware of but I mentioned it to Ty a short while back, I do feel at times that the match buildups in feuds aren't even.

Steamboat Ricky/Matt Tastic
I really like when the heel announcers get on the cases of the wrestlers, and it was done well in this match. Harthan is another guy who I enjoy reading his matches. Sometimes they can turn into a spot fest but this one didn't have this issue. It was well written and aside from a couple of grammar mistakes it was good. The announcing was good, the references to the Ricky/Bowen feud worked well, and the finish was serviceable if a little cluttered.

Apostles/Titus segment
This was a decent segment. Ty came out looking as good as he usually does but I did wonder why King and S.H.I.T. didn't have any lines.

The writing for Titus was par for the course for him.

Saboteur/That Fat Guy
I don't really feel that I should comment on my own match but I really don't have any complaints. Since my debut I've said that I think FalKon does a good job writing my matches and he did a good job.

I don't fully understand why I'm deaf now but I assume that I will learn more on Ascension during the Howard/Saxton match.

Rush segment
The segment was pretty damn impressive. I am confused though. Dragon dropped the belt because Gelg had other things he had to attend to and Rush won the vacant title. I get that much. What I don't get is the storyline. I'm confused as to whether Black Dragon is going to be gone for a while, if its just a temporary thing or what. If its creative's intention to throw us off then bravo, you have me guessing but if not then I'm generally confused by it all.

Titus/Reynolds
The match was solid. It wasn't anything special, but for a throw away match it was well written.

The thing that I think was most important here was the post match and the follow up backstage segment. Those worked very well. Reynolds attitude change was well captured and Runn was well written.

The post match with Titus and King was good too. It really played off the earlier segment well.

Rush/Ty Segment
I liked this. It did well to capture Rush's anger. It also did well to add to the storyline that I mentioned earlier, if that is the direction you are taking it.

"6" Man Tag
The match itself was solid, but the addition of Barbosa made it very interesting. It was my favorite part of the match, his back and forth. The end was good and his switching of theme songs was a good touch. It did feel clustered at times but overall it was solid.

Ty/Showtime
This match was rather lengthy. If it would have been a non title match it would have been too long but for a world title match it was fine. The match was good, it felt like a PPV match.

The ending was meh. I liked Big Dave's reaction but his actions felt cliche. Ty's reaction was classic Ty and it worked.

Overall

I felt like the show was pretty good. It got pretty hectic

"Meltdown has erupted into true Chaos tonight" Copeland's line at the end of the Reynolds/Runn brawl was very fitting for the entire show. It had a good build for Redemption and the chaos was good

Ascension 51

I'm going to try to make show reviews a fairly regular thing. I realized that when something in the fed does bug me there is no real way to get it across to creative without coming off as bitchy unless I offer criticism and praise where its deserved. Plus I love those delicious green reps

Opening
Have to say, another good opening. I'd rank this better than Meltdown last night. Sets up a big match for Redemption. The only thing that stuck out as wrong was when Cohen said "my god" in his opening line, God should be capitalized. When I was younger I got in trouble all the time for not capitalizing it and it turned into a pet peeve of mine, despite the fact that I'm not religious at all. Aside from my being anal over that it was solid.

Stevens/Jacobs
I really liked the commentating in this match. Always a big fan of the announcers looking back at past matches. Also love Spanish announce table jokes

I also enjoyed the fact that you took the size difference into account.

This bit confused me a little.
Jacobs follows him but Stevens has a head start so he grabs the chair. Stevens leans again the corner with the ring steps and Jacobs lifts the chair but he slams it down against the ring steps!! Jacobs drops the chair and grabs his fingers.

I had to read it two or three times before I realized it was Jacobs with the chair and that he swung and missed, hurting his hands in the process.

This is another that made me scratch my head.
Stevens tries to lift Jacobs up but he stumbles underneath the weight. Stevens abandons the idea of an airplane spin.

To me it would have made more sense to mention he was going for an airplane spin first, and then do the line about not being able to lift Jacobs.

I did like that the match didn't turn into a full on bloodbath. Sometimes Mayhem matches turn into absolute slaughter fests but this worked well

Overall the match was solid if unspectacular. A good start to the show.

Steamboat Ricky segment
This segment was short and to the point. It was designed to help build a feud and it did just that. I honestly feel like you could do these more often to help in the build up to feuds.

Saxton/Howard
Mother flippin' chaos. Loved it

Triple X/Overlast Segment
Another short and sweet segment that was done well.

Smith&Overlast/X&Constantine
The commentary for this match was pretty good. Love the history mentioned for most of the guys. Seems to be a theme for this show.

One issue I had was how Triple X's name always used. X did this, X did, that, X goes here, X hits again. It got monotonous to read. Its hard to find a balance between monotony and confusion when writing names(in my own guest write experiences) but this was more on the side of repetitive.

The post match was done very well. Holmes was well written.

Overall the match was a solid tag match.

Callahan/Gent
Pretty much par for the course for Dave. It was a bit lengthy but otherwise good. My only question is why did Tastic come out to Everest's music? Did I miss something?

Kurtesy/Holmes
Goddamn brass knuckles. I know all to well how easily those will turn the tide of a match.

The match itself was very back and forth and I liked that. I really don't have much else to say about it. It was good.

The post match brawl was a nice set up to the PPV as well.

Closing Segment
I want to just put a gif of The Rock clapping here but I'm too lazy to search my Photobucket for it. It was very good. Sets up so many possible angles. The thing I like most is that Ty got a beat down. As head of the fed it would be fairly easy for Ty to be a corrupt leader but he just wrote a segment where he let all of his minions hit their finishers on him. It was great.

When you add MD to this show and the possibilities for AF you have had a very nice build up to the PPV and I applaud the effort

AF 11 Feedback

Opening Segment

I really liked the commentary. Like Yaz has said before the commentary has been top notch. If I had one complaint about the opening it would that Kensworth was just a bit off. It felt like Leon just felt off, but I can’t point it out.

Rookie Match

My first question is why did they come out and went to commercial? I like the fact that Isabel used her beauty to trick one of the men. However, she can’t always use that as advantage, so it’ll be interesting when Stones goes one on one with someone. There were also some words missing in there.

Overall- Good match and a good way for a start to these three new careers in WZCW.

Barbosa Going Nuts

I liked how this was done to take out some guys. Mason and Scumm now have something to write about when they return. It also goes to show the unpredictability of Barbosa.

Beard/Cooper- Qualifying Match

One thing I couldn’t see happening is Cooper spinning The Beard and hitting a tilt a whirl backbreaker. You could have used something else for Cooper to do, so he could have knocked the “BIG” man down. Don’t forget capitalization even if it’s the commentators.

Overall- The match was very nice. I liked it and was really nice.

Kensworth/Reese:
All I can say about this segment is:

Marquel/Williams- Qualifying Match

I liked how Williams was given time to express his feelings. The only bad thing about it was that you forgot to color quote Scott’s second line. My only complaint about this match is that Marquel could have gotten some offence. I know he got hit by a mic, but he could have done something to protect himself.

Overall- Ok match. It showed the aggressiveness of Scott William.

WZCW Magazine

It was a really good advertisement, but how did Kurtsey get from the bench onto the ground?

Krypto/Leon

It was an okay segment. It served its purpose on Krypto not having a match due to opponent being attacked.

Triple Threat Main Event

Yeah! I’m in the ME of AF. The slow pace of Bull was nice and how Angel reacted to Darren's slow motion towards the ring. How can The Angel have a smile on his face when he has a mask on? I think there were a couple words missing in there.

They clap loud as Krypto runs off the ropes and hits a suicide dive into both Krypto and the Angel.
What I feel like you were trying to say was he hit the suicide on Angel and Darren. So, try to always look at those small mistakes.

He goes for the pin... 1... 2... this time, Angel goes for the pin break-up but Bull moves out of the way, causing Angel to hit Krypto.
I think you could have worded it a bit different. Try saying, “Bull goes for the cover, but only gets a two count due to the fact of him seeing Angel coming to try on breaking the pin. However, Angel hits Krypto because of the movement of Bull."

Overall- I like the match and it did end quick. Is it a record?

Last Segment:

Hell Yeah! All-Stars!

P.S. After reading all your matches from AF I see you like using elbow shots a lot.;)

Redemption

Opening Segment
This was as good as they usually come. Just a nice quick intro and it helped add a little last minute spice to some of the matches

Mayhem Scramble

I don't want to point out every little typo and mistake, minor ones don't really hurt the flow, but some happen that are down right awful and take away from the flow of the match. Like this one.

Cooper whips Reese to the opposite corner and charges after him, but Cooper blocks him with an elbow to the face that sends him staggering out

The bit where Reese tapped threw me off a little. It was written to where the damage from the chair before the move could have been too painful and that would have made sense, especially given Reese's reaction and the follow up after the tap. Then Cohen mentions it was a smart move to tap and it seemed like Reese was just using smart tactics. If it would have been me I would have simply taken it one way or the other. Just nitpicking on my part

I liked how Cooper, a former Mayhem Champion, had that veteran presence about him. It was very well written

I don't know why but the part later in the match when Bull broke up a pin made me laugh. It was a nice break from the carnage.

I'm not sure how I feel about the end. On the one hand it was typical Ace Stevens. On the other it felt cheap.

Overall it was a solid match and in my 3 PPVs since I have been in the fed the Mayhem title matches to open have been that way. I'd give it a solid B

Titus vs. King

The commentary at the beginning really added to the match.

The match had a slow paced old school feel when Titus was in control. When King was in control it had a faster pace. Whether intentional or not it really added to the experience difference between the too.

It was a shorter match, would have liked to have seen more but it was solid. A few spelling errors but nothing major. Another solid B

Celeste vs. SHIT

I like the mentioning of the rivalry between the two.

I also liked how it seemed like the RPs were taken into account when the match was written. My match at KC included elements of my RP and I enjoyed it, its a very nice touch.

Celeste cares for SHIT, that was apparent throughout. SHIT's mixed emotions at times were nice too.

Not a fan of the fact that it took three finishers and a frog splash to keep Celeste down. There are times where it feels like certain people are made to look stronger simply due to being in good standing with creative or being on creative themselves. I'm not calling anyone out, I'm just saying it feels that way at times. B-

Triple X vs. Overlast

I want to start off with a question. Why did this match, a title match, get so little build? The man that X beat for the title, Steven Holmes, got more build for his match. Granted he has a proper feud but, I just feel like title matches should be given a proper build, even if they aren't World Title matches.

The back and forth between the announcers pre-match was nice.

The fast pace at the start was good when X was in control and the slower methodical pace was good for Overlast.

Overall the match was fine, it just felt bland. B-

Tastic vs. Callahan

The spelling and grammar errors in this match were more frequent than the others.

It was good strategy to have Drake work Tastic's leg early. Good writing there.

I did have a problem with this.
Matt flips over and lands on his feet behind Drake

Not but a few minutes earlier Tastic could barely stand, but now he is able to slip out of a brain buster and land solidly on his feet, injured leg and all? He then hits a spine buster. I wouldn't have an issue with that but there was an app at one point where one of the weaknesses was the guy had a bad knee and so it was requested that he change the spine buster as one of his moves since the bad knee would prevent him from doing it.

The errors and my issue with the injury really stood out too much for me to greatly enjoy this one. C

Showtime segment

The segment was fine but why did Leon and Showtime both have the same color used for their speech?

Ricky vs. Bowen

I'm feint of heart so I took a bathroom break during this match.

The action was very back and forth here. Glad to see an even match.

I've said in the past that Mayhem matches often turn into bloody slaughters but this time it was the right thing to do.

The biting segment was a little much though.

Fuck yeah Spanish announce table spot.

I really liked Cohen's line at the end. It took me back to the days of JR and King calling matches when King was a heel but he had a sense of right and wrong and he knew when a wrestler took something too far.

A-

Reynolds vs. Runn

One thing I will say while I am getting my feedback out there is that in the build up to this match, it seemed to favor Reynolds.

I did like that the match didn't end on a finisher, as I feel not every match needs to. The offense felt very one sided to Reynolds however.

The post match was nice and it saved it from being too bland, as the match itself was kind of short. B-

Constantine vs. Holmes

Again I like the back and forth between the announcers. Adds to the rivalry and face/heel dynamic.

The sneak attack is very much Steven Holmes. His character is usually well written in my eyes.

I did not like the fact that Constantine took multiple punches with the brass knuckles and was still able to block a chair shot. One punch from Holmes and the knuckles put me away in a tag match but Constantine takes multiple and blocks a chair shot?

Holmes having to move the debris from the table spot was a nice way to allow Constantine to kick out of a finisher.

The ending was a nice spot. Overall the match was well written but my issue with the brass knuckles almost took me out of it. I'd feel it would be unfair for me to rate this one because of that.

EurAsian Title Match

The segment before the match added to the feud.

I talked with Crock and Merk recently and I think their alliance has potential. Nice touch having Smith come out.

This line by Connor kind of bugged me because it felt out of place for a face to say.
Connor: Says Rush and Rush alone. And he didn’t defeat the previous EurAsian Champion, Black Dragon was stripped of the title. Until Rush beats Dragon I won’t consider him EurAsian Champion and others may not either.

The big man/little man dynamic was done well. Plus I felt like this line by Cohen was very fitting as well
Cohen: The Gent is putting on a nice show so far, but that’s what he is, an entertainer. Rush is a true wrestler and that is why he will win.

I hate power kick outs by big men after a finisher. I said in my very first review back at LL that I can't really fault creative for things they do that happen in real life though.

The finish to the original match was fun.

The second match worked well to continue the Rush/Dragon feud and potentially start a Smith/Gent feud. A-

World Title Match

Why was this not the main event or co-main event?

Good job taking quick looks at all six competitors. I was worried this would turn into too much of a cluster fuck to be a good read but I was proven wrong.

I liked how alliances were quickly formed and then broken. Good stuff.

The match was very good. The end was kind of hard to imagine actually happening, but it was good. A

Tag Title Match

I don't feel I should do my own match in full detail so just a few notes.

Again, I like how some of our recent RPs were worked into the commentary.

It did feel short however.

Chris K.O vs Ty

This match was good but it felt underwhelming. I think the whole "control of WZCW" storyline has worn thin and caused the match to feel that feel. Ty wins all the control at KC, then the Apostles seemingly disband, and then he loses control in like a month and a half.

It wasn't that the match was poorly written, it just seemed like it didn't matter given how quickly ownership keep turning over

Redemption Review
The following are comments and observations from my own point of view.
Please excuse any grammatical errors. I don't feel like fixing them.

Opening Segment

 • I liked the flashes of the different matches
 • The segment felt a little choppy, but not that bad
 • I can't help but notice that an ode to the world title scenario is missing here
 • However, we capitalize on the Ty and Chris match for the WZCW, which I think may overshadow the world title match tonight.
 • Still, it was strange not to see a nod to the world title match.
 • Overall, it is a good opening segment. It definitely set the vibe for the show.

Mayhem Scramble Match

 • I am a bit surprised that we are not getting the six-pack qualifiers first.
 • I am looking forward to this because I have been neglecting the lower-card as of late.
 • The opening part of the action seems a little sluggish with typos and awkward grammar.
 • Cohen went from completely dogging Reese before the match to complimenting his smarts after the first paragraph.
 • The sequence of action has been fine up to the midway point, but typos and grammatical errors are keeping me from fully buying into the match.
 • Everybody is getting a little love in this match, which is what I like about these type of matches
 • "round" vs. "around" is the story of this match
 • Good to see Ace take out Marquel the way he did. Hopefully it isn't over between those two.
 • We get a solid ending to a crazy match.
 • Ace Stevens retains without really being the dominating force in the match. Everyone else got a good showcase and I think the structure of how the match went was right on.
 • Overall, this match is clustered, which it is suppose to be, but typos, grammatical errors, and repetition made it a little difficult to read. The action and story telling was good, but the polishing of the match was lacking.

Titus vs. James King

 • We have three of these qualifiers, so I am expecting semi-short matches.
 • Time-out: Cohen is saying that the Apostles are still together. Someone hasn't been reading the shows. ;)
 • Titus gets the win in a short good one.
 • Overall, this match was exciting and it flowed very well. It needed to be short and both parties looked like world title contenders. My only concern is the Apostles references.

S.H.I.T. vs Celeste

 • Three matches so far with no segments in-between.
 • The intros are lovely in this match.
 • There is great storytelling going on in this match.
 • Celeste dialogue is a nice touch.
 • Wow! Awesome finish with a surprise to most, but honestly miko has been on a stride lately.
 • Overall, this match gets an A+ from me. The pacing, commentary, story telling, and format were perfect.

Elite X- XXX vs Mick Overlast

 • Four matches and no backstage segments. Hmm..
 • In my opinion, these two both have the "it" factor in form of writing RPs.
 • “This has started a thousand miles an hour!” - so true!
 • The match continues to keep up a fun fast pace.
 • Awesome spot on the turnbuckle!
 • Awesome match with an awesome finish!
 • My boy Overlast tastes gold!
 • Overall, it was fast paced, but fun to read. I had to slow down a couple of times, but it kept my blood pumping.

Steven Kurtesy & Celeste Crimson Segment

 • Yes! A segment!
 • This was cool and mysterious!
 • Overall, this small segment added a hell of a lot to tonight's main event.

Tastic vs. Callahan

 • Tastic starting the clap was a nice touch.
 • We start off with some solid action, but the flow in the writing is a little off.
 • Nice work on having a reoccurring theme of Drake attacking Tastic's leg.
 • Drake wins because of his work on Tastic's leg.
 • Overall, this match is good. The flow in the writing was an issue for me, but we still got some solid action and storytelling. We probably could of seen some more detail.

Showtime segment

 • Leon and Showtime have the same dialogue color.
 • Overall, it was some short, much needed promo time for Show. The same colored dialogue was a blunder, but the promo was too small for it to be a problem.

Steamboat vs. Bowen

 • Really hyped for this.
 • This is Kingdom Come quality.
 • One of the best match intros ever.
 • The kendo in the back was sick, and this match has only started!
 • Wow! The biting skin spot was gruesome. Gross.
 • "Cohen: And there is your crowd interaction for the night, folks. Hope you savoured the moment."
 • This match has been lovely so far.
 • The Man Overboard spot was epic! Classic!
 • Another sick spot to end the match.
 • Overall, wow. This match kept me on the edge of my seat. It was written well and all parties involved should be proud. Sickest match of all time.

Reynolds vs. Runn

 • Realistically, this match would suffer because of the excitement from the last match.
 • However, I am excited for this match. Reynolds has done a great job with Ricky.
 • Great psychology so far in this match.
 • Nice pop for the break up of the count out. You don't see that often.
 • Great close calls.
 • WOW! Ricky Runn did it!
 • Overall, this was a great passing of the torch match. There was some amazing psychology in a well written match. Minor typos could not bring down this classic.

Constantine vs. Holmes

 • Oh, Holmes. You sneaky bastard.
 • Brass Knuckles!
 • This is just a good ole' brawl.
 • Nice spot with the Impaler through the table.
 • Steven Holmes picks up the win and hopefully we see him inserted into the title picture now.
 • Overall, this match felt like a big league match because it was. The writing was superb and as mentioned earlier, it was nothing more than a complete brawl.

Rush Segment

 • Rush and Black Dragon have some unique chemistry. I think this was a great route to go.
 • Overall, I don't really know what to make out of this. Which is great! It keeps me on my toes.

EurAsian Open Challenge

 • Good opening promo by Rush.
 • The Masked Gentleman, eh?
 • This is some good even action. Which, I am not sure if it is good. The Gent has been on Aftershock, while Rush has been a world title contender.
 • Rush wins!
 • Oh nice, a bonus match in form of Black Dragon vs. Rush!
 • Dragon is using Ty's light trick, I see.
 • Great action between these two!
 • Sam Smith pretty much saved Rush's butt twice tonight. Kind of makes Rush look a little weak. Especially since he is a big monster heel.
 • This is going to be a great feud, though.
 • Overall, everything was written very well and I enjoyed the spots. I felt as though that Gent should of got beat a little faster. I know there is a tendency to make everyone look good, but Rush is a monster heel facing an Aftershock guy. Everything else was fine, but I still didn't like Sam saving Rush's butt twice.

Ricky Runn Segment

 • Interesting. Very interesting.
 • Overall, it is interesting.

Sixpack Challenge

 • Wow, I thought this was going to happen, but still it is an honor to have Chris in the main-event over the world title.
 • This match is a complete wild-card for me. This should be a very fun read.
 • Great opening. The writing is excellent.
 • Reverse DDT and neck breaker to two different people! Epic spot!
 • So much going on, but I love it.
 • Small package by Titus on Drake almost got me.
 • OMG! Everyone is getting pushed off the top ropes! I love it!
 • Holy S***! Drake Callahan just won gold!
 • Overall, it was a five star match. The writing was solid and the action was exciting. I was expecting to see some Celeste interference, though. I think now you have to focus on Showtime and Drake. This provides us with a top heel vs. face for Apocalypse.

Tag Team Title Match: Saboteur/Saxton vs. Strikeforce

 • We get a good traditional title showing by the referee. That should be a requirement for every title match, except for Mayhem.
 • Saboteur and Saxton look great.
 • I like the development of Strikeforce in this match.
 • Hot tag!
 • Great match!
 • Overall, this was a solid tag team match with classic tag team match traits. All of the elements were there. Great writing as well.

Chris K.O. Segment

 • Perfect.
 • Overall, it is time to begin the end.

Chris K.O. vs. Ty Burna

 • One word: Epic.
 • Overall, I may be a little biased, but this match is perfect.

Summary

 • The show had a rocky start, but picked up for the rest of it. It is filled with loads of gems!

Barbosa's Road to Redemption Feedback

Before I begin, I understand that on top of the vast amount of work that Creative have to do, there may be some mitigating circumstances behind the scenes that I am not aware of that contributes to some of the things I am going to talk about and even criticise. Also, none of my criticism is leveled at individuals for their RPing skills or their position within the card.

I am also not going to go into each and every match in detail; rather I am going to focus on the one major criticism I would have of Redemption in that I feel that several of the storylines have been hotshotted.

For my money, as epic as Stairway to Hardcore was, I don't think there was enough reason yet for Steamboat and Bowen to be competing in such a barbaric match. I think there should have been a longer build between the two with each interferring more in each other's matches and costing them victories - Ricky's loss to Matt Tastic (someone who could easily have been put into this match too) a couple of weeks ago was a perfect opportunity for that kind of escalation. Redemption could easily have seen the first Mayhem meeting between the two ending in some kind of a draw - double pin, doube KO - before then building further to the STH at Apocalypse.

Congrats, Harth. His efforts in rejuvenating the Drake character have been admirable but I cannot help but think that the WZCW title has been unnecessarily hot-potatoed. Whilst Drake had won the vote behind the scenes, it could have been easily decided that he should take a storyline loss and his title win held off for another few weeks (this is something that should happen in the Reynolds/Runn feud - it should be almost predetermined that Reynolds wins the next confrontation should there be one). I think it is especially needed given the "conspiracy" angle Drake is currently working.

For my money, he should have been not only in the last of the three qualifiers I expected him to get not only the latest of the three qualifiers but have it that there was a mix-up in the card (something that would have been perfectly explainable with the crumbling of Ty's regime) that left Drake zero time to recuperate after defeating Tastic with the Six Pack starting immediately. Then, to further ramp up the Callahan complaints, have him have the Six Pack challenge won by hitting someone with a Hangover only for him to be pulled out of the ring and have Showtime steal his victory. That gives Drake plenty of ammunition for a couple of world title matches with Showtime, culminating perhaps as late as Unscripted.

Perhaps the most obvious example of this hotshotting has been the development of Chris KO and the 'ending' of Ty Burna's reign of Chaos. I mean we have only had one PPV cycle of Ty's leadership and for my money it has not been anywhere near as diabolical as it could have been. Sure, there have been some mismatches and he even put himself in a world title match. But he also put himself in a HIAC match against someone he had shown fear of in the past and none of his Apostles had actually won anything. When Ty took control, I was expecting an Evolution type run with the Forgotten Powers taking the tag titles, Bowen reclaiming his Mayhem title and SHIT capturing the EurAsian or Elite X title. Instead, we got something much less impressive and long-lived.

On top of that, despite his face turn, I have found Chris KO and the majority of his actions to be innately villainous, self-centred and at times insufferable. He has betrayed the man who took him under his wing and raised him from curtain jerker to main eventer, stole his lady and then appointed himself as the 'White Knight of WZCW.' Now, of course, wrestling faces do this kind of thing all the time but for me, this kind of Crusading character is far more appropriate as a heel. It just did not work for me.

And neither did the break up of the AoC. It made very little sense for all of them to suddenly turn their backs on Ty. Chris KO might have been somewhat explainable as a change of heart but the likes of King, SHIT and Bowen were yet to actually achieve anything of any magnitude. And why would they turn their backs on Ty when he was still the owner of the company, knowing full well that Ty was the vengeful type and could easily have removed them all from their matches at Redemption and punished them heavily in the event that he retained control of the company. Very strange.

Another problem is what I see as the top-loading of the card, something that could only get worse with the likes of Chris KO, Ty Burna, Holmes and Constantine to re-enter it. As well written as it was, the Six Pack Challenge was always going to end up to quote Barbosa's last RP "a complete clusterfuck," perhaps even one that was overshadowed by the already booked Mayhem Scramble.

Of course, the over-arching reason for it is the sheer size and quality of the current roster and it did give the likes of SHIT and James King a chance to shine in the upper echelons. However, if I was being ultra-critical, I would suggest that the use of such a multi-man match was almost a cop out, an admission that there was nothing specific for the likes of Celeste, Barbosa, Tastic and Drake - something I would attribute to the far too premature break up of the Apostles of Chaos. While Drake took the top prize, the booking of the likes of Drake, Barbosa and SHIT in such a large multi-man match was hardly reward for their recent run of victories over the biggest names in the company. I would also argue that both the EurAsian and Elite title scenes have suffered somewhat too from the over-elevation of so many.

Now, I am not one to offer criticism without also offering a possible solution or two, and God knows there is a mountain of work involved in the fed, even with 7 on Creative, given the size of roster. Despite them already doing so with AF guest writers, I would encourage Creative to go further and reach out to members and encourage them to find a storyline for their own characters, much like Doc and JGlass did with the implosion of Action Saboteur at KC.

I would also encourage everyone else to talk to Creative about their ideas. They are more than willing to listen and act on good ideas that will benefit not only the individual but also the story-telling of the fed itself, which in the end, despite the bonus of winning matches and titles, is really what the fed is all about.

Perhaps the part of the fed in the most need of radical change is the tag team division. I would almost go as far as to rather than simply ask members again for help in rejuvenating it, I would force it upon them with an Madness/Anarchy style draw from amongst those not currently affiliated with a feud or storyline. These then would compete in a tournament for a trophy of some sort along with a tag title shot. The new owners/GMs could be a perfect opportunity to institute it and it could make for some fun pairings - Isabel Stone/Celeste, Gentleman Masque/Red Mask Titus, Darren Bull/SHIT, Barbosa/SHIT etc.

Going to try a different format with my show feedback. Instead of commenting on each match I'll hit the points I feel deserve mention, both good and bad.

Meltdown 77

First off I want to address some of my comments regarding the Ty, AoC, Chris K.O. storyline in my last bit of feedback. Had I know Ty was planning to step down I would not have been so harsh in my words. In retrospect hotshotting it was the correct call.

I like how the opening set up some things down the road, both short and long term. For the first time since I was on AF I found myself genuinely excited for the show after the announcement. I'm also looking forward to see who will be taking over Meltdown.

I like the Rush/Sam Smith alliance has potential and I'm interested to see how it plays into the EurAsian title picture.

I have already told them once but Ech and Show did a damn fine job writing that 8 man tag match. I was worried it would break down into pure and utter chaos, but it turned into one of the better multi man matches in recent memory.

Johnny Scumm as Dragon's partner made me scratch my head. Not sure where that is headed, but I suppose time will tell.

It has been said but it felt like Meltdown lacked star power this round. I think you could have switched the matches from Ascension and Meltdown and it would not have felt that way.

Ascension 52

The opening set up a nice potential feud. Feels like the new champ should have been on Meltdown, but given the Chris K.O. story I understand why it wasn't. Plus it helped play into Drake's conspiracy angle.

The no shows were written well.

Interested to see where Barbosa goes and what role he will play in the likely SHIT/Alhazred feud.

Looks like there is a feud shaping up between Overlast and X. Nice to see a feud being built around the midcard titles. The match was pretty solid too, didn't blow me away but it was a nice read.

The tag match felt like it should have main evented Meltdown as opposed to Ascension, but as I mentioned earlier the K.O. story was better suited for MD.

Overall Ascension felt better than Meltdown this go round.

Aftershock 12

The NXT style mentor program should be good and hopefully the rookies seek out the advice of their mentors.

Myles opening was good.

The no show write was okay, not as good at Ascension but it did the job.

Darren Bull mic time. Normally I would question why a low card guy gets mic time when some main event guys don't, but given the circumstances with Constantine not there it made sense.

Good job to all the guest writes this week.

I'm interested to see how the mentors and mentees being at ringside will play out.

Good save on the no shows from the tag match on Ascension, made for a good main event between Tastic and Cooper.

One thing I would suggest, AF usually feels shorter than the other shows. I think it would be a good opportunity to give midcard guys some mic time on the show. In the same respect that AF is used for the new guys and the up and comers in matches, it could be used for guys who have recently broke into the midcard scene to get little segments. I think it could really add to storylines.

General Thoughts

Overall it was a very good first round under the new regime. Looks like you guys hit a few snags along the way but you dealt well.

I'm pretty excited with the new ideas. It really feels like everyone on the roster now has some sort of direction.

I'm very excited that it looks like all of the titles are going to have a feud built around them, as opposed to just random matches.

Numbers, I hope you debut your new character soon. I'm really anticipating that.

I also want to thank each member of creative for being open to suggestions and ideas, and I encourage anyone who reads this to send them a PM if they have an idea. Same goes for other members of the fed. I've thrown ideas at guys, not many have stuck, but a couple have. Some of the better feuds in my time here have been things that members worked out between themselves and then sent to creative.

Meeks Show Review

OK, here's my first round of show review. I'm not gonna go through and pick through everything, I'm just going to give a brief overview of what I liked/disliked about a specific show for that round. This last round I'll be doing MD.

The opening segment between Holmes/KO was a nice way to start the show and fuel the rivalry even more. Following that with the epic Triple X/Alex Bowen match and the show was off to a great start. That match was fantastic.

The segments that ran througout the night between S.H.I.T/Alhazred/Barbosa/Black Dragon and everyone else involved were pretty damn funny. How can you tinker with a cardboard box?

The beatdown that Scumm took at the hands of Rush really show how big of a badass the big man is. Hell of a mean streak in that one.

Ok, I'm dissapointed in the ending of Ricky/Titus. This match should have had a definate winner. Two WZCW legends in a one on one contest and no clear winner? I'm not a fan of that.

Dragon/SHIT and Masked Gent/ were both pretty good matches, but the M.E tag and the announcement of Big Dave as GM really put an exclimation mark on a good show. Everyone that had a hand in writing this show did an outstanding job, and the only thing that I had a problem with again was the non finish between Ricky/Titus.

Just my two cents.

A ton of people are very critical of certain things that went on in this past PPV so I thought I'd give my two cents. These aren't detailed notes on everything, just general notes on everything I feel like reading.

Triple X vs Smith
-Fine match, I like X but I'm fine with him losing, Sam needed more credibility and it looks like X is going to be feuding with bigger and better people, everyone wins.

Califa being attacked
-So is he gone?
-Are we ever going to find out who attacked him?
-I mean did we ever find out who attacked Runn Redemption and who attacked Constantine at Apocalypse?
- Califa has taken a lot of criticism's so he probably wants a break, there was no way he was winning the vote anyway.

K.O. Invitational
-It was a nice touch having it be a triple threat match
-Cooper winning was also a nice surprise.
-I don't know what's to come of this Cooper/Bowen alliance, especially since I thought Bowen was feuding with GM and set to have a Mayhem Rules fight on the upcoming AS.
- Chris seems to be getting the John Cena reaction at the beginning, nice touch for what's been going on in the .Com section.

New Church vs Capone and Alhazred
-I don't really see why you didn't just add these tag matches as a pre-show or something if they were going to be on the card anyway.
- GM aligning himself with TNC is interesting.

Reese vs Vega vs Runn
-Glad to see the mystery choice was worth picking, first blood should be brutal.
-Vega basically cutting open Runn's face was a great visual (sorry Pancake)
-Overall good match, don't know where Runn goes from here, I'm sure Remix has something planned, very credible win for Vega.

Krypto vs Isabel Stone
- Not much to say here Barbosa wrote a great match, glad to see JGlass's request he made about it was written in as well.
- Isabel destroying Steven is cool, logically this means her and Sandy should now feud but we'll see.
-Krypto wins the whole thing, bet nobody saw that coming when the thing started.

Rush vs Tastic
-Short match nothing wrong that.
- The double count out is a nice way to keep the feud going, nothing much else here to say.

Barbosa vs SHIT
-All the brutal galore we were promised.
-It's a shame this feels like an afterthought though.
-Cooper and Bowen trying to kill them after the match is interesting, are they a tag team? Will Barbosa and SHIT form a tag team? There's so many two man stables forming I'm beginning to think we need a tag tournament to declare new champions, you know since one half of them is leaving.....

Saboteur/Saxton vs Strikeforce
-Had Shotaro not announce he was leaving this match would have been fine in my book and while I love those guys there was no reason for a title change.
-For one I thought the champs had the better RP's, of course I'm not on Creative so who knows what they thought, but if you knew one half of the challengers were leaving why put the belts on them?
-I know it's a little early to judge but J and Doc do have a somewhat legitimate gripe. Hopefully this is straightened out immediately.

Hell in the Cell
-Not a lot to say here, Showtime wins which was expected, and there are plenty of other things to do with the three losers.
-Looks like Constantine is going to be feuding with Cougar going to AON which is the right move.

Overall
I liked the PPV, you guys did a lot of stuff pretty well, unfortunately there's always going to be the one thing you guys did wrong (tag title situation) that people are going to be mad at. Once again these aren't detailed thoughts it's just how a I felt about what I saw.

Show Review

Once again, these aren't in detailed thoughts just quick thoughts here and there.

Meltdown

-I liked the opening as I'm on the push XXX to the top bandwagon, a feud with Holmes should be great for him.

-I liked the Six Man tag though I'm sad half the people didn't RP, you guys did a pretty good job handling the no-shows that were there.I assume the reason Celeste took the fall was because it wouldn't have made sense for Tastic to be pinned and then get the title shot. I like the idea of a best of three series but it kinda makes the second match pretty predictable depending on who wins the first, plus it's obvious the final one is going to be at AON.

- Krypto/Staff/Chris segment was nice. Foreshadowing an aggressive turn for K.O. I assume.

-The Krypto/K.O. match was well written, that's all I'll say.

- XXX vs Constantine was a good way to setup John's failed cash in later in the night, plus the win being a DQ didn't hurt any of them.

-The Isabel segment did interest me, wonder who she was talking to?

-Brent Blaze squashing Darren Bull was cool, though I must ask what happened to the other rookie?

-Showtime/Holmes was also good, I had a feeling Constantine would announce his cash instead of the surprise factor. I'd put my money it being that four corners thing Dave posted in the .com section.

Overall it was a good MD for what you had to work with, the no-shows really screwed things up. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.

Ascension

-Liked the added emphasize on the tag title situation which needed to be addressed. I really saw no other angle you could go besides Mikey dropping the belts. I guess it's a Stormage/GM feud going into AON.

-The STA situation is still interesting to me despite the no-show. Bowen/Cooper vs Sabo/Sax will be interesting but I'm still penciling my votes in for TNC vs Sabo/Sax at AON with Barbosa/SHIT colliding with Bowen/Cooper in some gimmick match.

-Vega/Flynn was brutal good fun simple as that. Vega looks to be a tough guy to beat. May have a new King of Mayhem on our hands.

-The six man tag ended as it should have, with a DQ.

-Titus interrupting K.O. "about to save us" was a good way to start what I assume will be there feud. Interested to see where Callahan goes from here. He was brilliant going to into Redemption and in the Apocalypse cycle but I've kinda lost interest in him lately. Hopefully that changes.

Good Ascension, better than MD this week but not by a lot, I just liked it better. There's nothing really to improve on for now, no-shows just killed things a bit.

Meltdown 82

I like giving Triple X a bit of a rub from Showtime. It allows him to take a step up the ladder without pushing him to the top before he can find his footing.

The six man tag match was okay. It wasn't bad, but it had some things that took away from it. I'm not calling anyone out for a no show, but both Izzy and Tastic no showed and they were given segments. Allowing Tastic to make such a bold challenge after a no show seems out of place. I understand that Tastic vs. Rush was probably in the plans for AoN, but in my mind a no show should always be handled the same. If you no show, you get jobbed out.

K.O. vs. Krypto was a solid match. I think Krypto has earned the right to a segment here and there, and it was used well to show K.O's frustration.

Blaze got the fairly easy win after the no show by Bull. I will ask why the match wasn't kept on AF? I remember when I earned my way onto Ascension it felt like an accomplishment. My first Meltdown appearance was similar. I earned those by putting up constantly good RPs. Debuting a guy on the flagship show doesn't seem right.

Triple X vs. Constantine was pretty solid as well. Normally when a guy is about to get a push I'd like to see him get a clean win over a guy on the level of Constantine, but I don't mind the DQ finish in this case because Constantine had a big announcement later in the show.

The end was solid as well. Holmes/Showtime was another solid match. I wasn't as big a fan of the DQ finish in this situation, but the post match brawl made up for it.

Ascension 57

Whoever wrote that opening is amazing. Seriously all the ladies should throw themselves at that man.

It will be interesting to see where the STA situation goes. I think this particular no show was done the correct way.

Vega/Flynn was another solid match in a line of solid matches. It didn't go over the top with the weapons.

The six man tag was good. I'm biased but I think everything was well written. Big props to Barbosa for emphasizing the two feuds and helping in the evolution of Mikey. I think the DQ finish worked great. This was the first match I've lost that I wasn't bummed I lost.

I do question the writing of Titus after a no show. I actually asked about the no shows this round and was given a reason on Titus. I understand it, but as I said before I'm from the camp of thought that all no shows should be treated the same.

Aftershock 17

Awards show was very good. Solid work on all the segments.

The mini Ricky/Austin reunion was nice.

The matches were well written.

Overall I'd say even with the no shows this was one of the better rounds in recent memory. Great post PPV work. Nearly everyone has some direction headed into AoN. Some belt feuds, some personal feuds, the Battle Bowl. Big things poppin' and I like it.

WZCW; A week in review; Part 1;

Meltdown 83;

The show starts as you’d expect with a recap of Holmes vs Showtime and Constantine’s announcement that he is challenging for the World Title at All Or Nothing, this is useful for those of us with short memories or who rarely pay attention. Nothing to grade here, because it’s a recap.

As you’d expect, this is followed by the arrival of Showtime, obviously as the World Champion he gets a loud pop, slapping hands with fans etc. Perhaps one of the cheesiest characters in the fed then goes on to say he’s not one for cheesy statements, I assume this is an act of self aware comedy that drew a small chuckle from me. He then goes on to promote a long dead feud with Austin Reynolds, building towards the Showtime Powertrip. Cool. No complaints, sets up for the next part nicely.

We are interrupted by another video package, highlighting just what devious and unscrupulous deeds Mr. Showtime has done in the past, good call, modern day wrestling is far more self aware than previous era’s and often doesn’t ask fans to forget that only a few months ago the person you are cheering now was a colossal douchebag. In fact, due to this video package and Constantine’s segment, which injected some life into proceedings if I am totally honest, in fact, largely because of Constantine’s arrival and what he had to say, this feud has instantly become more interesting than any World Title feud since back to when Ty Burna had the belt. Will it continue? I expect it won’t be too long before we find out.

----------- --------------------------- ------------

Match 1;

Jimmy Flynn vs Vega - Didn’t we just see that? Ah I see, can Flynn beat Vega when Vega isn’t allowed weapons. Short answer, no.

Bit one sided, with Vega dominating for extended periods, marked out a little when it looked like Flynn got the win but foot on ropes and all that, this is what smarky douchebags would call a showcase of wrestling talent, good read though. Hard to see where Flynn goes from here, my experience from the Mayhem Division is that with a few notable exceptions, repeated failures usually lead to no shows and the handlers leaving. That said, I don’t think there is any shame in a newer wrestler losing to Vega at this stage, he really is quite good and looking at the RP’s this round, I think it was the right result. Keep your head up though Jimmy.

----------- --------------------- -----------

Ah, Steven Holmes and Big Dave, normally I’d skip this but seeing how I am reviewing the show. Holmes wants Title Match, fuck, I want one of those but hey, looks like XXX vs Holmes is becoming official, with plucky face sticking it to snobby heel. You go champ!

----------- -------------------- ------------

Match 2;

Chris K.O vs S.H.I.T – Ah, a chance for the guy who thinks he’s a Robot to avenge the guy who thinks he’s an Alien. Can he do it? Short answer, no.

Well, first of all I’d like to apologise if I offended or annoyed anybody by whining about the outcome of this match in JGlass’s thread, it’s just hard to take when an RP you’ve been subtly building up to for months is trumped by “guy talks to male nurse who happens to be fan of the show in the least subtle plot device ever” story. Sorry, there I go again.

Anyway, crowd is still mixed for K.O, while S.H.I.T receives positive welcome, well written with the crowd building up like a crescendo much like the Machines theme music, if you played it like I do you’ll appreciate that. Good match, showcasing K.O’s frustrations with the crowd etc, short, but most S.H.I.T matches are and, classic face/heel with K.O dominating before S.H.I.T getting the upper hand and then we get the inevitable interference, S.H.I.T gets distracted and loses. Payoff is mostly in K.O’s favour though as Empire backs off, either not fancying a scrap or just happy with a good days work, and Chris gets to continue his false White Knight gimmick, I was begging for S.H.I.T to chop him or something, or reapply the hold, but alas. K.O moves forward, S.H.I.T remains as static as he’s been for a while now, as we knew it had problems with Empire. 50/50 on this.

------------ ---------------------------- ----------

Ooh, Vega vs Krypto, colour me interested, although this does perhaps give away the result of the next part.

------------ ------------------------ -----------

Match 3

Jacoby Capone vs Krypto – In what is apparently billed as “who can get the lowest down the card match.”

Very short, good grief, Krypto, probably as expected, picks up the win here, very back and forth, probably not as expected considering the vast size differences between these two lads but a bit of fun nonetheless. Krypto winning with quite a nasty move there at the end, but it was a well written display of his ariel prowess. Hard to see where Capone can go from here as it looks like another step backwards, while Krypto is being pushed toward challenging Vega with his reward.

This match basically just does what it says on the tin.

------------ -------------------------- --------------

Chris K.O again, woo, with Kensworth. Psuedo White Knight gimmick put over again. Titus asks for a feud, well, okay, that is directly addressing the criticisms levelled at Titus recently in the same way a sledgehammer addresses a particularly difficult Phillips head screw, a better screwdriver would be sufficient, to whack it in like that is potentially damaging.

----------- ---------------------------- -------------

Aha, Match 4; Tastic vs Rush – First in a series of three.

One thing you lot are good at is writing contrasting styles, Rush’s size against Matt’s speed, and holy hell what a beating Matt received after a good early start, but he’s our resident plucky good guy and has tons of heart, takes a licking and keeps on ticking and so Rush finds himself frustrated at not being able to put this guy away, he goes in the air even, Tastic has pushed this formidable man this far. Rush beats him up some more, with brief flurries from Tastic, ah, Super Saiyan, I get it, good attention paid to RP’s there.

Probably MOTN, with it looking like Matt was going to steal it once or twice before finally succumbing to the sheer punishment, well written indeed. Looking at the RP’s I thought this might go his way, but then I am not voting, anyway, Matt’s now got to come back from a 1-0 deficit. Not easy, and he has no more to work with than he did last time, but a good match nonetheless.

--------------- -------------------------------- --------------

Oh good, Steven Holmes again. The bad guys are bad, and they’re ready.

The good guys are good, and they’re ready.

------------- ------------------------------ ---------------

Main Event;

XXX & Showtime vs Holmes and Constantine in a match Booker T or Teddy Long would’ve jumped at the chance to book.

Entrances, at least the ridiculous descriptions of the crowd reactions have been toned down a bit for these with certain people. Triple X chant, reflecting the fed as a whole, go Champ!

Of course X is the one divided here, being the rookie and not the World Champion and all, while Showtime looks on helplessly as these devious gentlemen have their wicked way with him. Over confidence by the KFAD causes the hot tag to Show, which is surprisingly short lived I’ll say, before the devious heel (Constantine, not the other one) beats up the plucky face (Showtime, not the other one) before tagging in the devious heel (Holmes, not the other one). Bit of role reversal there, which apparently Holmes is a fan of anyway, in which X watches helplessly as Showtime is beaten up, but hooray, he spears Holmes from the top rope, so nice we had to see it twice.
Tags are made, X puts forth a strong effort against two men until he is rescued by Showtime, taking him and Holmes out of the equation, X has the politician on the back foot but Holmes manages to evade the furious Showtime long enough to cost him the win, Showtime of course comes back but X is done and Constantine finishes this bad boy.

Another good match, not much more to it than that.

Afterwards of course Constantine decides he isn’t done beating the guy up, but X is saved by Showtime, massive relief, until Bowen and Cooper turn up, oh no, and now it’s a beat down of epic proportions. Personally, I was a bit disappointed S.H.I.T didn’t use this opportunity to make the save and get a bit of revenge of its own, considering Bowen and Cooper couldn’t keep themselves out of its business, this only adds to the static problem I had earlier, but then we wouldn’t have had the necessary moment of Constantine with the Title Belt, teasing the match he’s already announced he’s going to have. Good ending with the heels standing tall. Grr, I hope they get their comeuppance etc, etc.

Decent Meltdown, with like I said, the most interesting World Title feud in a fucking while now, more palatable than some recent shows, and hopefully indicating a rise in quality in general.

Ascension review coming soon. If I can be fucked.
