Hold on, you say Lesnar v. midcard guys won't sell, but you want Brock to face Dolph Ziggler? And that guy who doesn't draw Daniel Bryan? Even worse Ziggler v. Bryan v. Lesnar?

Daniel Bryan draws more than the former Shield members combined, and Ziggler is a bigger star than any of them. Bryan and Ziggler are the two most over stars in the company. None of the Shield members come even remotely close to their popularity or ability to draw fans.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a terrific option for a match if Daniel Bryan (or someone else) wins the Rumble to face Brock Lesnar instead of Roman Reigns? This one could steal the entire damn show. Especially if you make it a falls count anywhere match. First off, I don't think Reigns is ready to be World Heavyweight Champion, but I DO think Seth Rollins is and I believe 100% that WM31 will end with him cashing in on whoever the champion is, as I've said in another thread I created. But to make it less predictable, he needs to appear to be injured so badly that you would think there's no possible way he's cashing in on this particular night. Maybe even show an ambulance taking him from Levi's Stadium, although that could make it a bit too obvious.

Next, the Ambrose/Rollins feud was never really resolved. Ambrose lost at Hell in a Cell due to interference from Bray Wyatt and they have been in a program ever since. Rollins moved onto Cena and hasn't crossed paths with Ambrose since, which is just ridiculous in my opinion. It needed a definitive winner. Rollins has unifinished business with Orton too, and I really want to see them go 1 on 1 at Mania as well, but I would choose this triple threat between all 3 former Shield members over the Orton/Rollins match. In fact, Rollins vs Orton could even happen as soon as the Royal Rumble.

I would have Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose be 3 of the last 5 in the Ruble match (along with Daniel Bryan and Ziggler/Orton/Wyatt). Perhaps Ambrose is trying to get rid of Rollins, when Reigns comes up and tosses them both out, beginning some dissention between Reigns and Ambrose. The match truly should have happened last year. When they were hinting at a Shield breakup for months leading up to WM30 and then they got back on the same page only to face...Kane and the New Age Outlaws? You gotta be kidding me. Yes, if they had broken up this time last year and the match had happened, we would've missed out on those Shield vs. Evolution matches, but you can't tell me they weren't misused at WM30. That was a joke.

So yes, it could've and should've happened last year...it could happen next year and be for the title, but I want to see it at Mania 31 because it's just simply better than anything else you can write up for them.

Thoughts?

Good ideas. I think if Bryan won the RR match, it would make the fans happy. I think if Reigns won, he'd get a mixed reaction like Cena. I think Bryan vs. Brock could be a good match, similar to Eddie vs. Brock at NWO 2004. I'd love to see a cash-in at WrestleMania, it's never happened before. You could have Rollins just lose his WrestleMania match just so his cash in would be less predictable.

I'd love to see Ambrose and Rollins face off in a 3 Stages of Hell match at WrestleMania. I think a triple threat between the 3 former members of The Shield is too soon, they're still developing as individual competitors.

Simple. Who do you think is going to be in the main event of Wrestlemania, and who you think should be in it. You can also add a dream Main Event.

I think the main event of WrestleMania 31 will be Reigns vs. Brock. It seems inevitable the way WWE has built up Reigns since The Shield split.

If it was up to me, I'd have Orton vs. Brock as the main event. Orton never got his one on one rematch for the championship, #RKOuttaNowhere is viral, it could get fans outside of wrestling to see what the hype is all about.

Seriously its literally 25 years in the making. Fans have been asking non stop mania after mania for this match to finally happen.

We missed austin vs hogan, we missed HBK vs the rock but finally with reports coming in that Taker will be at mania31 with the 1 time Sting is also going to be on the SAME card WWE yet again seem to be passing on this opportunity, both guys have age against them if this match happens it needs to happen at mania31. Not 32.

Why do I have a feeling that HHH's ego is majorly involved here. sting has stated many times he only wants taker, and if taker wrestles bray it just seems pointless. So let's assume taker is in fact wrestling, and of course they will put Sting vs HHH so they wll miss the chance to do this match. It just seems so stupid. The match itself will sell mania even people who say there too old blah blah but will mark out like little boys when these two stand toe to toe in a WWE ring.

Why can't they do HHH vs Sting at royal rumble and Sting vs Taker at mania31? Why is that so difficult to set up?...?

I think may want the match to be a bigger deal. If they wait until WM32, they could build the match up like they did Rock vs. Cena the first time plus WM 32 will be in Texas, Taker's home state so they could build the card around the Taker vs. Sting match being Taker's final match.

Ok. I guess I'll use this thread to post my predictions. We all like predicting the upcoming mania card, right? Here's what I got.

Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan

This should be an obvious main event. Bryan is still extremely popular and is coming back at the perfect time. I know we've seen Bryan in the underdog role before but it could work really well again against Lesnar. Bryan could be vulnerable after the surgeries and be in a tough position against the most physically dangerous guy in WWE. Plus you have a guy that has a true love of wrestling that had to work his way from the bottom and is willing to risk his health to live his dream against a guy that was handed everything on a silver platter and really doesn't give a shit about wrestling. This is the main event that needs to happen.

John Cena vs. Rusev

WWE has done a great job building Rusev so he can be seen as a real challenge for Cena. I'm sure a lot of people would want Cena to lose but after a dominant year of being undefeated WrestleMania would be the right time for Rusev to go down.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Triple H

Some people are thinking Ziggler has a chance to win the Rumble and main event mania. I don't see that happening but I think Dolph is going to have a bigger role than usual. He's the one that was the sole survivor against the Authority and you know HHH is going to make his life hell. Despite what CM Punk says a match against HHH at mania is a big deal and would be a career highlight for Ziggler.

Undertaker vs. Sting

I have been against this match for years. Still am but now that Sting is with WWE it's hard to imagine WWE is going to pass up on the match people have been begging for for years. At this point it seems HHH vs. Sting is more likely but I could see that happening at the Rumble. I've also heard the rumors about Taker vs. Wyatt which I think could be very interesting. I'd be ok with that but Taker vs. Sting can finally happen and a lot of people will be disappointed if it doesn't.

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

I don't think I need to go into detail. This one is already set up.

Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus

I'm hearing Sheamus may return as a heel. I don't see Reigns in the main event like what's been talked about and beating Sheamus is a far cry from winning the title but I think he's a good match up for Reigns right now. My ideal opponent for Reigns would be Batista if he comes back for mania but I don't know if that's happening.

Bray Wyatt vs. Erick Rowan vs. Luke Harper

We never got a real reason for their split. I know Wyatt 'set them free' but that was a little vague for me. I'd like more of that story and maybe Bray can recruit some new family members to help him secure the victory.

Battle Royal

I assume they're going to do this again. Of course all the leftover guys will be in this. I see either Dean Ambrose or Ryback winning it. Preferably Ambrose.

Diva match

They'll probably all be thrown into something together with minimal effort put into it.

I think this would be a good time to put my predictions, before next week, where I think things will start to clear up a bit as to the directions the WWE will go in:

Brock Lesnar(WWE WHC) vs Daniel Bryan:
I think that given he has announced his comeback, DB winning the Rumble is surely best for business given his long time out will make people clamour for him even more. The story writes itself, and also given DB's overness level, IF Brock is leaving, the match won't be booed because of the presence of Daniel Bryan.
Note: Seth Rollins to cash-in on Daniel Bryan to end the night, thus, establishing himself as the Top Heel going forward.

Triple H vs Roman Reigns:
This has a back story to it from since the SHIELD broke up. Roman went through Kane, Orton and Rollins, with only HHH left before the hernia injury struck. The plans still say Roman vs Brock, but I can't see him getting the required momentum, and this would be a good way for him to establish himself with one of the very best in the business. Reigns vanquishes Triple H and ends the Authority once and for all!

the Undertaker vs Sting:
I think this just has to happen. I don't mind it waiting till next year, but I think given both guys are with the company...why wait a whole other year when they could just do it now! Pure Nostalgia and would fit well on this card, if just for the star power. Both could then be in the HoF Class of 2016 next year in Texas.

John Cena vs Rusev:
The Ultimate Patriot vs the Evil Russian. This is another story that writes itself and will see John Cena in the midcard at Mania for the second year in a row.

Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt:
Orton and Rollins seem set to go at it for Mania, but I'd have that at Fast Lane, with Bray Wyatt doing his classic interference to cost Orton and setup this bout.
The Eater of Worlds vs the Viper, with Bray going over and recruiting Orton to his cause.

Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins:
These two still have unfinished business and WM is the ideal place for it to end and finally give Dean Ambrose the boost he needs. Rollins would lose this blood feud's final chapter after coming out on top in earlier bouts. However, as pointed out above, he will cash-in on a brutalised Daniel Bryan to end Mania on a high note nevertheless, whilst Ambrose finally gets his personal revenge also.

Andre the Giant Battle Royal:
Loads of contenders for this one. Judging by the progress of the inaugural winner, I'm not too bothered by who wins it unless there is something worth fighting for....perhaps both MidCard belts on the line might a great incentive.

Divas Battle Royal:
Maybe someone like Paige or Charlotte would be great to win this one.

Anyone else think this is possible, With Sting looking like facing Triple H and Brock and Heyman constanly reminding everyone that Brock conquered the streak i can't help but feel they could be setting up a second match between these two.

A scenaro I can see happening would be Brock about to beat Cena at the Rumble only for the gong to sound and distract Lesner giving Cena the opportunity to AA Lesner and win back the wwe title setting up Brock-Taker again.

Anyone else feel this way and would you be in favour or against a rematch?

I wouldn't be in favor for it because Brock is too dangerous to work against an older Taker. If this was 10 years ago, yes. But for the sake of Taker's health, if Taker wrestles again, he needs to face a safer worker.

Simple. How would you book Daniel Bryan from here going to Wrestlemania, maybe even goto Extreme Rules if you want to. I just want your opinion and see how you view him.

I'd have him be the final four of the RR match - him, Rollins, Bray and Reigns. I'd have Bryan eliminate Bray but as Bryan is eliminating Bray, Rollins come behind him and eliminates Bryan to get insane heel heat.

Bryan tries to go after Rollins to avenge his elimination but Kane becomes Bryan's latest road block. He faces Kane at Fast Lane and loses after interference from Rollins.

Bryan beats Kane on a major RAW before WrestleMania and gets attacked by Rollins, leading to a one on one against Rollins at WrestleMania.

Bryan gets the win at WrestleMania, making Rollins tap out. The RAW after WrestleMania, Bryan is in a tag match with Ambrose as partner, facing Rollins and Kane but as Bryan is about to get Rollins to tap out again, Ambrose turns on Bryan and they feud going into ER.

Daniel Bryan draws more than the former Shield members combined, and Ziggler is a bigger star than any of them. Bryan and Ziggler are the two most over stars in the company. None of the Shield members come even remotely close to their popularity or ability to draw fans.

Vickie Guerrero drew more ratings in 2013 than DB, so should she face Brock Lesnar? CM Punk was over, popular, and able to draw fans, but he didn't draw a single dime.

No he should not. What would the point be? His last match showed that it may very well be time for Taker to retire. The streak, which was likely the main reason he worked as many Wrestlemania events as he did, is now over and the Lesnar match itself was just awful. Even when disregarding the outcome of the match, I hated that match. Easily Taker's worst in over a decade. I'm not interested in seeing Undertaker wrestle at Wrestlemania again at all. Not against Sting, not against Bray Wyatt, not against Cena, not anybody. With the streak being gone another loss would not seem like much of a big deal nor would the match itself for that matter whether Taker wins or not. It wouldn't be that beneficial to the other wrestler to work a Wrestlemania match with Taker anymore at this point.

It's going to be Bryan vs Lesnar. Bryan is too over with fans for WWE not to push him now that he's fit to perform again.

Vickie Guerrero drew more ratings in 2013 than DB, so should she face Brock Lesnar? CM Punk was over, popular, and able to draw fans, but he didn't draw a single dime.

He drew fans but didn't draw a dime? The fans are the people who PAY those dimes. Your own argument doesn't even make sense.

And who would your pick for the main event be? An untested, unready rookie like Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose? Or a musclebound nobody like Ryback? There is nobody in WWE who would draw more buys for WrestleMania than Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler. NOBODY.

NO! Absolutely not!!!! The match they had last year was horrible even if you disregard the outcome and what a bad choice Lesnar was for ending The Streak. If that match was any indication of what to expect in a future match, then I have zero interest. Plus, with Undertaker no longer defending his undefeated streak then what point is there in him having another Wrestlemania match? It wouldn't be a big deal whether he wins or not. Defeating Lesnar in another awful match wouldn't erase what happened last year. Losing again would just result in an even more humiliating exit. He should retire, having lost his undefeated streak is a good ending for him to leave on, and he deserves to go into the Hall of Fame very soon. Seriously though, no Taker VS Lesnar 2. Ever. Not at Wrestlemania, not at Summerslam, not on Raw, not at Survivor Series, not even on Main Event. Those two should NEVER have another match because it would be awful just like the first.

I am 100% in favor of this match. All three of them are very talented and they have a ton of history together. Wrestlemania would be nearly a full year after Seth turned on his former Shield allies last summer. Ambrose and Reigns both have unfinished business with Rollins plus both of them will want to be the guy to pin him 1, 2, 3. That arrogance will cause enough tension to make this fall fully into the "every man for himself" territory that triple threat scenarios need, despite Rollins being an enemy of both Reigns and Ambrose at this time. The match would steal the show, that goes without even saying. Make all three of them show what they are capable of doing, then have either Ambrose or Reigns get the win. Rollins is likely cashing in his briefcase at the end of the night, so he'll get his Wrestlemania moment later on that night. I'd love to see this match happen. It needs to and it should take place at Wrestlemania this year. All three need something to do anyway as we are likely looking at Bryan facing Lesnar for the World Heavyweight Championship. Then again, a lot can happen in 3 months. A LOT. We'll see what happens.

Tbh I wanted the main event to be something like Batista v. Brock Lesnar, but since Batista's not around I don't give a fuck about who's in the main event. What makes you think anyone would pay to see wm with someone like dolph ziggler in the main event? or that goofball daniel bryan?
Punk had the lowest ratings during his title reign lololol.

Back around SummerSlam I said in various other Brock vs Taker rematch threads that I thought if Heyman was still shoving the end of the streak down our throats by around the Royal Rumble that a rematch was at least a possibility. But, Unless I've just grown immune to it if I'm not mistaken Heyman's gloating about the end of the streak has really tampered off, outside of the occasional mention. I also don't see Lesnar losing the title at RR.

But most importantly, I don't think Vince McMahon would be comfortable putting Taker in a rematch against Lesnar after what happened to him last year. While I firmly believe they could put on a much better match as long as Taker could stay injury free during the match, Vince respects Taker too much to risk him getting seriously hurt again.

I think if he wrestles this year it will be against Bray Wyatt, though I have no clue what they would feud over, and I think Taker should get some sort of revenge on Lesnar if he comes back. I like the idea of a feud with Bray though. I even thought Bray might have been referring to Taker in his promo on Raw.

If Lesnar loses the title at RR I'll go back to thinking that a rematch is a possibility, but I'd say it's a long shot.

The match they had last year was horrible even if you disregard the outcome and what a bad choice Lesnar was for ending The Streak.

I can agree with all of that, yet from a continuing storyline point of view, the pro wrestling "way" has always been for the hero to finish the feud with a win, especially after such a crushing defeat.

For all that's been written about Undertaker and his WM streak, do you think his unbeaten record at the event would have ended had his body not been in such decrepit shape? Even if he planned to continue his semi-retired ways as he aged, wouldn't the Streak have gone on if he committed to keep wrestling for the company? I would think Mark Calaway told WWE before WM30 that he'd perform two more times; the loss to Brock at WM30 and sweet revenge at WM31.

I would still be thinking that if not for two things: 'Taker's physical condition, of which we haven't had an update since they fought last April.... and what the plans were for WM30 in the first place. Did they originally schedule a second match, only to find that 'Taker doesn't want it anymore.....and they've been waiting for his word ever since?

One way or the other, if they do have a second meeting, Undertaker wins it. I can't think of a reason in the world for it to be otherwise, especially with Brock likely leaving....and having no "rep" to protect.

Why do I have a feeling that HHH's ego is majorly involved here.

My feeling is the opposite. I agree Sting and Undertaker should meet at WM31. Especially if this is to be Sting's only match and 'Taker's last match, this is the logical choice.

So, why are we reading rumors about Undertaker facing Triple H? I think it might be because WWE legitimately doesn't know if Mark Calaway is going to be fighting anyone.....ever again.

If he is wrestling that night, I would think either Sting or Brock Lesnar will be his opponent. If 'Taker isn't entering the ring again, that's where Triple H comes in. He's a legendary opponent for Sting to face....but, consider this: of all the top performers on the WWE roster, who can most easily step aside without having his career plans messed up if Undertaker decides to compete after all?

Triple H, that's who. I don't think he's inserting himself to feed his ego; he's doing it because he wrestles only when the company needs him to....and if plans suddenly change, he can take a seat without losing his place in the hierarchy.

For example, if the company was advertising Seth Rollins for a WM31 match against Sting......what would happen if Undertaker suddenly announced he wanted to face Sting? What would the company do with Seth Rollins, unexpectedly forced out of the match and left with nothing to do at the biggest show of the year?

No, there's only one guy who can: (1) Be an opponent worthy of fighting Sting in his first (and only?) match in WWE, yet (2) Step gracefully aside if he's bumped from the contest.

That's Triple H.

I can see good and bad in the match.

Good-- Their former alliance, of course. It would be fine theater to have the former team battle it out after all these months. The company has kept the three on essentially separate paths, yet there has been enough overlap to keep their former partnership in our minds. Of course, having Reigns miss a couple months didn't help, but since he's been back, he's already been in the ring with Rollins. Having the three fight it out could be fun, as long as the two good guys don't gang up on the bad. Of course, if they do, Rollins always has his well-dressed henchmen at the ready.

Bad --While it's debatable whether all/any of them are main event ready, having the three in one match eliminates their fighting other people who would benefit from being in the ring with them at the big event. For instance, since Ambrose has been fighting Bray Wyatt for some time now, where would Bray be left at WM? (this assumes Bray-Rollins is still going on by WM31, but you get the idea).

Having the former Shield members duke it out could be fun to watch on our TV screens, yet counterproductive in terms of furthering storylines. WM31 isn't an end in itself, it's more of a beginning to the new WWE Fiscal Year.:)

In my opinion I think it will b reigns but I would not b shocked to see either the rock or hhh turn up and win it with vince saying he doesn't think any of the others r up to it to put a show on against Brock and no one wants to see cena vs Brock again let's b honest then Bryan will face either hhh or a returning Batista again or maybe a triple threat between Brock vs reigns vs Bryan would b gd

Think ziggler will b defending the I.c title in a fatal four way ladder match with Luke Harper , y2j and bad news barret

And the co main event will b either one of the following three matches
Bray vs taker
Taker vs sting
Bray vs sting

Orton vs Rollins

Ambrose vs Kane in a gimmick match

Big show vs ryback

Rusev defending us title against cena to set up rusevs first loss
And cena retiring the belt

Usos defending tag tiles against accention (sorry can't spell lol)
New day and Tyson Kidd and cesaro

Sami defending nxt title against Owens

Divas title Nikki vs Brie vs Paige vs Charlotte

Miz vs mizdow

Pre show match
Neville vs fandango

Batista? That might be the worst main event ever. A guy who can't work a match half as well as he did ten years ago against a guy who could never work a match. You'd rather see Batista get the main event than Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler, either of whom could wrestle circles around Brock Lesnar? Weird priorities.

I think they should Meet at WM 32 ,, last match for Both in their Home state & both in the HOF in 2016 also ...Not a better way to go out like that

Here's what I hope...

Reigns vs Rusev (US Championship)
Ziggler vs Bray Wyatt (Intercontinental Championship)
Rollins vs Ambrose (Hardcore match)
HHH vs Sting (Sting goes over then the authority starts beating him down after the match. Taker comes out and makes the save. You then get a Wrestlemania moment with Sting and Taker without them having a match)
Cena vs Bryan (Maybe a 1% chance of a Cena heel turn)
Lesnar vs Orton (Make orton look like a beast when he returns. Maybe have Lesnar win and then Rollins cashes in and is the new champ. He can then head into the next ppv as a Paul Heyman guy feuding with Orton)

Batista? That might be the worst main event ever. A guy who can't work a match half as well as he did ten years ago against a guy who could never work a match. You'd rather see Batista get the main event than Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler, either of whom could wrestle circles around Brock Lesnar? Weird priorities.

lol. I wanted that to be the main event as soon as I heard he was returning, but after seeing what he brought after being gone for 4 years, my hopes were dying down...
But yes, I'd rather see Batista v. Brock Lesnar than DB or DZ.
