Who can defeat Andre the Giant?

Honest question, can someone explain me what is the WZT?

Fake match-ups between superstars, king of the ring style, argued on several bases, such as kayfabe, success and other intangibles. Decided by poll voting and Gelgarin. Very fun if you don't mind watching the same guys win for the same reasons each year.

Piper would go over Brock in a submission match, because he's better on the mic.

Also, if you weigh over 300 pounds, then sorry, son, you aren't climbing that ladder...

And watching the same guys bitch for the same reasons every year.

I went back through the archives a while back, and it turns out that Tastycles has actually done more to promote "my guys" pretty much every year than I have.

On a related note - remember when people started voting against Kane because he had beaten Bret Hart the previous year? Good times.

I did the best I could with the knowledge I had as well. The old school guys need more love.

I'm only playing into the Gelgarin mythos ;).

I do enjoy stuff like the second though, but in the opposite direction. As if beating Bret in the WZT should be good argument in Kane's favour. I only half agree.

Grudges play a lot into though.

Oh, you don't need to know very much at all to make a convincing argument. You only need to know about two things and then build an argument around them. I don't know very much about Andre, but I do know Maeda kicked his ass, he was a drunk and only drew decent numbers when he was working with a better name. Anything else I say is just building on those points. Also: if you pick the right side of the argument, you can use the wisdom of better informed people to bolster your own arguments.

Sure, not everyone can be Gelgarin, but any asshole with a decent vocabulary can be Remix.

anyone know when the wzt starts?

Also, Meada didn't whip Andre. Andre tossed him around and sat on him at times. On orders from Inoki he then lay down but Meada refused to pin him.

That was fun. Good times.

Yeah, it is pretty sad that there are dumb people allowed to vote. I say this year we have an IQ test qualifier round for voting access.

Maybe you should change the title of this thread to "Wrestlers who Echelon accepts that could beat Andre in his prime"

Taker at WM > Andre. Sorry bud, you know it.

Accept you're forgetting the fact that Andre was undefeated for YEARS AND YEARS. There were years no one could even knock Andre down. If we are talking Andre in his prime. Andre goes over Taker. His streak was a bigger deal than Takers.

Undefeated for the exact reasons that Remix already stated. Please dont start with the Andre couldnt be knocked down crap either. Andre didnt really sell shit unless he wanted to & much of his undefeated streak was by DQ or count out, not to mention a good amount of draws...

If his streak is a bigger deal, I sure dont see many people who care enough to discuss it. Likely for the above reasons.

1. John Cena (2007-till date, especially during that year-long WWE title reign),
2. The Rock (Attitude Era; 2011-12),
3. Stone Cold Steve Austin (rioting, beer drinking and ass whooping days),
4. Undertaker (WrestleManias; #23-till date),
5. Hulk Hogan (Hulk Hogan with Creative control, lol),
6. Brock Lesnar (I'm not a wrestler; I'm an asskicker),
7. Big Show (during his WMD or JeriShow run),
8. Mark Henry (during his Hall of Pain run),
9. Randy Orton (initial days of The Viper gimmick and introduction of the Punt Kick),
10. The Shield (Wrestlemania 29 and before),
11. Wyatt Family (now),
12. Triple-H (Ruthless Aggression Era),
13. Umaga (when he was on an undefeated streak and Samoan Spiked everyone),
14. Samoa Joe (during his 18-month undefeated streak in TNA), and
15. (heel) Edge (Ultimate opportunist always finds a way).

Rey Mysterio. I know this is not the popular opinion, and it's not one I whole-heartedly share, but putting him up against anyone unnaturally big is a guaranteed win.

16. (heel) Sheamus (around TLC 2009)
17. Jeff Jarrett (coward, cheater, but best use of a guitar- TNA 2005-06)
18. Goldberg (during the undefeated streak)
19. Ric Flair (early 90's? wooooooooo)
20. Kurt Angle (during feuds with Rock, HHH, Stone Cold, and early TNA days) ;) :D

Now that I stop to think about it, Sheamus really is the sixteenth greatest wrestler of all time.

:disappointed:

Ech,

How is Taker's streak at Mania not his prime? When else was he literally untouchable?

Because the streak is self sustainable at this point. It will make money despite what condition Taker is actually in. It is a direct product of the WWE machine than really anything Taker did. So how can it be considered a "prime?" Especially now since Taker only works once or twice a year.
