Weak looking finishers.

here are my five worst finishers in ascending order: (by superstars name not finisher name)
5-john cena(a suplex makes more impact)
4-khali(are you kidding me)
3-jeff hardy(i never bought it)
2-r truth( oh my god)
1-john morrison(it looks good but he never hits it right)

I gotta say the 619 is weak looking to me. I mean I get the double feet to the head and a springboard splash is supposed to take someone out but if he pulled that shit on me I'd pick his little ass up and break his fuckin back for real.

also I agree the knockout punch is weak as he could punch someone at anytime and doesn't need the buildup.

and the codebreaker doesn't make sense he is of course taking much more punishment that the guy that is supposedly having his face forced into his knees.

I don't however get the people hating the attitude adjustment as it seems to be to have plenty of power to it and if you don't think so try taking one while not being trained for it. I bet $100 you have your ass knocked down for the three count.

I agree with giantwooly, the 619 is looking a little weak. More and more I'm seeing lots of opponents evade Rey in that move itself. Another move I see that seems weak is Layla's neckbreaker, I think I saw that when it was called the Ravishing neckbreaker (can't quite remember the exact name). Or Maryse's kick to the side of the head, how many people use that right now, my same thing with Layla's finisher.

RTruth thats it. When your using that as a regular move that never beat anyone even jobbers then that move gets a name and magically becomes ur finisher its gotta be the most stupid. His move is no doubt the weakest and stupidest. I will never buy that he can beat anyone with that move not me not u not a kid not Brooklyn Brawler or that Cardboard Rocky Balboa Mick Foley faced on TNA

I don't really like Punk's Go To Sleep, it's just doesn't do it for me. It doesn't show his technical prowess which is what I think when I think of his in-ring work, I'd rather he used the Anaconda Vise as his primary finisher.

I don't like Edge's Spear, as it's said he doesn't have the physique or intensity to really pull it of. Why'd he start using it anyway?

I think the real problem with the finishers is that they aren't original or they're being used by multiple people. During the Attitude Era and before, other than the Powerbomb, Piledriver, or DDT, you only had one or two guys doind a particular move and they were rarely in the same company and if they were, it started a feud or something(Booker T and The Rock, Sid Vicious and Vader). Another thing is that guys today rarely sell move correctly except for the older cats, you complain about Paydirt but Sheldon is doing half the work, what about the guy selling the move? If you know it's coming, why not put yourself in better position for it to look good and not lean forward "checking your eyes or forehead." For example, the Stunner, the guys back then all had unique ways of selling it and made it believable. The Rock would roll backwards from the impacts momentum, HHH acted like he was knocked out the second Austin landed it, Mr. McMahon acted like he died the first time he got hit with it and let's not forget Scott Hall's selling of it and WM 18, check youtube.

I'm not sure what Shelton's Pay Dirt is actually supposed to look like. I'm sure when it's not sloppily executed and horribly sold it look s nice. When does that happen though? Every time I have seen it the move looks slightly different. It may not be Shelton's fault, but it's hard to take the move seriously when it's constantly being botched.

Honorable mention goes to Gail Kim's foot to the face thing. It looks twice as ridiculous as MVP's Playmaker and far less impactful. Like Shelton's finisher, it never looks like it was performed correctly. I blame the divas receiving the move more than Gail though, she has shown she is capable of not being complete shit.

I agree, although I don't think its necessarily all Gail's fault the foot to the face fails, keep in mind when something fails, its 50-50. The person who receives it, has to be in the right place as well. If they can't put their face right, they can get hurt seriously. To me when Gail always wrestles Maryse, it seems like Maryse doesn't put her pretty face down to take a punch, kick etc. That's why it looks like Gail's Eat De-feet never seems right. I remember one of Maryse's very first matches against Cherry, Maryse went to try to super kick Cherry in the side of the head, then Mis Si'Vou Plait tripped over her own foot. LOL Let's talk about coordination please. When something goes wrong, it can be because both people screw up IMO.

Id have to agree with a bunch of people on here and say my top three would be big show's knockout punch, MVP's Playmaker and christian's killswitch.

I say knockout punch because he already punches people in the match why should we believe he doesnt just hit them that hard in the first place and end it then?
And i say the playmaker and the killswitch because of the setup for each of them. I mean really why wouldnt someone try to get out of it. Everytime i see christian do the killswitch it bothers me it just looks like it takes too long to set up.

OK, I agree with 1 out of 3. I shall try to make you see my way.

He doesn't hit him hard because he takes so long to punch. The only real time he punches is when he has you in the corner and throws a flurry of strikes to the mid section. The real selling point of the move is the fact that it strikes at the oddest times. Take Wrestlemania 26 for example. How many finishers could have been hit at the exact moment when John Morrison was perched on the ropes to spring back? Besides the KO Punch, really only the Sweet Chin Music.

Agreed. I hate the Playmaker. Sloppy and just downright dumb. Hey, let's cushion your head with my leg.

Although I do mark for the Killswitch. The only way the Killswitch takes to long to set up is fi he is "struggling" to get the guy turned over. The other times he takes maybe one second to turn them over, then the other second or two taunting before he drops them unprotected on their face. How is that a bad finisher?

I understand what your saying about the knockout punch and how it can just come out of nowhere, those are actually my favorite kind of finishers. But what i dont like is big show is a obviously big guy why doesnt he just shove his opponent in the corner and just punch him. I just think big show needs a finisher that needs to come out of nowhere because he should be able to dominate his opponent with his size. I just prefered his chokeslam

For the killswitch i guess you got me because like i said i just prefer a different kind like sweet chin music and the rko. It just seems to me that a guy should be able to fight it better than just go with the flow and not struggle at all through the taunting.

The reason that Big Show doesn't do that is rather simple. He is slow. Most of his opponents play keep away from The Big Show. You can't put in the corner what you can't catch. He has to wear down his opponent because The KO Punch may be powerful, but it is also very slow. He takes more time with it to add more power. Have you ever seen anyone kick out of the KO Punch? No. That is why I enjoy it as a finisher. He hits it and it is over.

Sure I'll give it to you but who has he beaten with it who was an actual equal competitor to him? The only person i can remember is the undertaker. And i mean singles matches. Whenever he has fueds if he actually wins a match its mostly by using the chokeslam. I think the WWE could make his ko punch look a lot stronger if they had him beat some bigger names with it.

I have two that I believe are pretty terrible. The first one being Shelton Benjamins "paydirt" move, or whatever it's called. That may just be the sloppiest, least painful-looking finisher I have ever seen. I mean, come on man. The guy is terrible on the mic, and I mean GOD AWFUL. He is known for his in-ring ability, yet he has the worst finisher I have seen since the Hogan Leg Drop. Man, it is terrible.

The other will probably catch some flack, but I don't care. It would be Edge's spear. That spear is really, really bad. First of all, Edge isn't the biggest, strongest, or fastest guy out there, so it's already unbelievable. If he would just throw caution to the wind and REALLY nail someone Goldberg/Rhino style, it would be somewhat better. I just cringe everytime he uses it. It just looks weak. No intensity behind it, plus a not-so-intimidating physique makes for a weak, weak spear.

You are out of your mind. Edge NAILS his Spear. I like his about the best out of all the names you listed.

Are you kidding me? He has pinned Chris Jericho...

John Cena

Not to mention he has K.O.'d Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and then some. If I had more time, I would find more to disprove your post, although I feel that those two negate yours already.

FACT: K.O. Punch has defeated the current best of the best.
You stand corrected.

My computer wont load the john cena one so i dont know when it is from but anyways i was just responding to you saying no one has kicked out after it. I think his match with taker was ended by knockout. And that video against jericho he didnt pin him cuz jericho got disqualified. I cant remember all of his matches on raw but who has he beat cleanly with it? And again I mean people on his level.

Anyways youve already changed my mind about it. Im just saying they should have him use it more and make it seem more devastating by taking all the top guys out with it.

I would have to say the spear looks the weakest, i mean come on! it couldnt knock out anyone, and a problem with the chokeslam is that there is too many out there, kane, undertaker, bigshow. has everyone lost all creativity??!! and The 619 is sooooooo boring now, its done half assed, im sick of all these weak finishers. Worlds Stongest Slam, more like Worlds Weakest Slam!

Agreed, but the look of intensity added with the amount of speed delivered combined with the quickness of the pin is guaranteed to stun you enough for him to take advantage of you not being able to breathe for three seconds.

and a problem with the chokeslam is that there is too many out there, kane, undertaker, bigshow. has everyone lost all creativity??!!
No, they have not lost all creativity. It is used so much because it is effective. I don't care who you are, but being dropped flat on your back from 9 feet in the air will hurt.

and The 619 is sooooooo boring now, its done half assed, im sick of all these weak finishers.
Was the 619 ever done full assed? Plus you have yet to name a weak ass finisher.

Worlds Stongest Slam, more like Worlds Weakest Slam!
PFFT!:lmao: You seriously believe that a 450+ pound man landing full force on your chest will not hurt? You must be Superman to not feel that.

That move Darren Young the NXT rookie classes as his finisher. It looks extravangant and what not but when you watch it again it makes me LMAO. Its a fully nelson THING flipped off into a facebuster. Its done so poorly though. Its a shame it makes the kid look weak.

and The 619 is sooooooo boring now, its done half assed, im sick of all these weak finishers.

If I'm not mistaken, The 619 is rarely used by itself as a finisher. It usually is followed by a jumping attack of some sort. And even when it is used as a finisher, you have to consider a few things:

a. The opponent is already weakened.
Mysterio spends the whole match wearing down his opponent to allow for the 619.

b. It hurts when two feet come speeding out of nowhere and smack you in the face.
It really does. Mysterio gains a lot of momentum by running from one side of the ring to another, and he allows that momentum to spin around and slam his feet into the opponent's face, and that is painful.

Quite simply John Cenas 2 finishers are shite. FU - pick the man up + drop him lightly on his back, hmm that wouldnt keep hornswoggle down never mind a full grown man, + that abomination STFU thing is so bad even Stevie Wonder can see it wouldnt hurt, a loose ankle lock thing + an arm across your forehead, ouch. Cena should watch Benoit tapes of how to slap on that kinda finisher, I rem watching him put Jericho in the crossface + was genuinely worried Y2J`s head was going to explode the colour it was going.

I strongly agree with everyone that R Truth's finisher looks extremely weak, and barely believable.

The same goes for Big Show's finisher. While I do see that the WWE was trying to somehow further connect his character with boxing, the punch for one, is barely believable. The cameraman can't show it at angle where we can see a decent pic of the shot (because there's none at all). He doesn't have to go back to the Choke Slam, but certainly get a different finisher.

I haven't looked at all the posts so if anyone has said it im sorry but what about moves like the people elbow and the worm. They're just an elbow and a chop.

im not sure if this thread is for the current finishers dey hav but anyway b4 he quit jbl finisher was clothesline from hell. wot da hel ws wwe thinkin. jst a normal clodesline but wid 2 extra wds added to da name of it and dey think itll look lyk a realistic finisher. evry wrestler in da wwe except guys lyk mysterio or evan bourne dus da clothesline.

HUH?
Dude, what the hell kind of language was that? Did your teachers teach you how to write like that? Christ that was painful to read.

Anyways, Umaga's samoan spike and Kennedy's mic check get my votes on this one. So ok, I'm gonna poke you in the throat and you're gonna somehow get totally incapacitated from it, deal? And the mic check looks like it would hurt the offender more than his opponent. :wtf:

Two Words. The Worm. Were the people who thought this up for Scotty or Scotty himself on drugs? It was a slap to the chest. This is in no way any judge of a good finisher, but in SmackDown 2: know your role (i love that game, it was the first wrestling game i played) one one occasion, against the super tough funaki of KAIENTAI it took no less than 6 worms to get the KO, as for the last ride, which took 1
