Drinking can make you a bitter angry person when pot has the opposite effect. You don't hear to often about a guy coming around and beating up his wife because he got too stoned that often,but you see a lot of guys who beat their wives when their drunk. Drinking will slowly rot away your body unlike marijuana.

Even with driving it is completely different, the caused by driving by marijuana is a very small number compared to driving under the influence of alcohol. I'm not saying that everyone should go out joy riding when your high but for some people pot will only make the person's driving better. It helps relax them and make them more aware of what is going around them. You can even tie those accidents related to marijuana being illegal.

Some people normally pot smokers under the age of 18 will get together and smoke when they drive. Most cases they are only smoking while driving in their car because they have no other place to do it. They can't do it in there house because of the parents so instead they go out for a joy ride. Which is also one of the reasons I don't think that you really start smoking pot until your at least 18.

Second, no, it doesn't. It makes people who are high think they are more creative, but as someone who produces art for a living and smokes marijuana, I can tell you that my best work comes when I'm sober.

Third, the world definitely does not want you fighting its causes for it. Unless you want to go to war and die for it, in which case, go to town! But there are more than enough people who flap their gums without actually doing anything; we don't need any more.

Second, of course, nutcases never send letters to "the federal government". (Your authority complex is showing. Most people would send letters to their senator, or their representative, not "the man".) I've never felt 'drunk' while smoking marijuana. While newer smokers may experience light hallucinations if they smoke in large concentrations, I've never had anything more than a fascination for Christmas lights strung up in a college dorm room. Alcohol usually encourages outgoing behavior, while marijuana is an inhibitor. It causes a lack of focus and difficulty in thought comprehension. (Like people reading this dreck couldn't figure that out.) While there is a reduction in motor control with marijuana, it is nowhere near as pronounced as that of alcohol. As far as positive effects, well, marijuana does seem to create an interest in the music of Pink Floyd.

In some people, consumption of marijuana turns them into a self-righteous douchebag who no one wants to deal with. We call these "college know-it-all stoners", and they are probably the worst kind. (In this case, I'd guess high school dropout know-it-all stoner.) This effect is still not entirely medically understood, due to the lack of research on the physical and mental effects of marijuana, but it could just exacerbate a pre-existing condition of douchebagedness.

All in all, it's a habit I'm not entirely proud of, but it's my habit, and it's no one else's business what I choose to do privately, which is why I support decriminalization as opposed to legalization. (Decriminalization reduces the penalties for possession to a civil offense, akin to a traffic ticket.) I don't feel that we (speaking in the society sense) should be encouraging the use of marijuana, which is the end result when you legalize it. People in a position to profit from marijuana sales will encourage its use and make it an advertised commodity. If you don't believe that, think on how large the alcohol and tobacco industries are. (A major, if often overlooked factor in the end of Prohibition and the resulting commercialization of alcohol was that people were dying as the result of poorly distilled illegal liquor- not a factor in the production of marijuana.)

Thank you for your objectivity instead of being an ass. I don't smoke pot so I was just going off of what I've been told by my pot smoking friends. I agree with decriminalizing it. I don't care if people smoke it or not I don't the problem with it. I just don't want to spend the money to try it.

There has never been a night where I smoke a bunch of pot went to bed and when I woke up I couldn't produce any memories of what happened the night before(Drinking will do that to you). You mention how alcohol will give you a hang over too but a little bit of weed is also a good cure for a hangover. Smoking weed will make you a peaceful person drinking will have the opposite effect on you. You always hear about a guy getting drunk at a bar and starting a fight. Again stop comparing weed to alcohol because they are two completely different things and alcohol is way worse to body and could kill from drinking a long time(unlike marijuana).

You act as if I had said they were the same thing. I know there is a difference between the two but they are similar in how they affect the brain. They both kill brain cells after heavy usage, which you seem to be suffering from.
