Marijuana Anthems

I would like to thank everybody for their high quality contributions, we are on our way to the greatest salad bowl of marijuana anthems in the history of WZ, please continue to pack this thread with golden nugs of pleasure for all to enjoy.

So today I'm going to drop in some real late night smoking music, the stuff that is made for those late night bong ripping sessions, or perhaps those never ending huka bowls, this is the type of music that helps you sit back and transport your cares to another dimension.

Nightmares on Wax
Pipes Honour

Nightmares on Wax, For the Smokers is a must have, and I repeat a MUST HAVE C.D for anyone who likes to smoke a night, this is the perfect chilled out C.D to smoke anything to, You'll feel like your sitting in some Amsterdam lounge getting high off the most premium herbs.

Anything done by Wiz Khalifa he is the man known for making music that revolves around Weed and pretty much every track by him can symbolize what a marijuana anthem is.

I can't believe this song hasn't been brought up yet is everyone forgetting Insane In The Brain By Cypress Hill. I mean when it comes to weed songs Cypress Hill is the best out there i mean this song is catchy as hell and it just has that perfect sound for smoking pot so this is my pick for Marijuana Anthem.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RijB8wnJCN0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RijB8wnJCN0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Then if your more in a chill mood when you are getting high i would have to say Where I'm Going By The Kottonmouth Kings is another really good choice. I mean it's just a really chill song that you can just sit there and relax to it's my favorite song by this group.

While at work the other day, this song popped into my head. I thought "Shit man, this was my Anthem back in the day." What is this magical little song I speak of ? Non other than......INDO SMOKE by MISTA GRIMM ft NATE DOGG and WARREN G

Smoking on the bud feeling kinda high, Sipping on the gin feeling kinda fly......
(Dancing around the room with a joint in my mouth)

This song came out on the Poetic Justice soundtrack, and was the first time I heard of Warren G or Nate Dogg. I recall putting a tape player up to the t.v speaker and recording the song, just so I could have this track for my own. It sounded like shit, but I loved it.They always played this song on The Box when I was a kid.I think it might even be the first hip hop song I got my dad to listen to without bitching about it. Anyway, just thought I would add some G-Funk to the play list.

Blaze Up !!!

So I was alerted to this track today when I boosted up my itunes as it came up under the Cudi alert that I set, glad to see itunes doing its job properly.

I've listened to this track a few times, and its as solid as any for a marijuana anthem, Snoop spits a pretty slid rap, but Cudi makes the track without a doubt. " I cant forget that Tree".

Snoop Dog (Feat. Kid Cudi)
That Tree

Just listened to it again, and it definitely gets better with each listen, this really is a fantastic song, give it a listen.

POTLUCK~Hotbox Anthem

I just discovered this group not that long ago, they did a tour and a few tracks with Twiztid. I asked in the hip hop thread if anybody liked them, and to no suprise all they got was hate. I came across this song on Youtube about six months ago. I checked it out a few times, then one day I caught myself mumbling the lyrics."Walk in the party I aint got no ice on,but I got the best weed you seen in your life dog." So I looked up more songs by Potluck and found they are huge potheads. They have lots of songs about weed, but being from Humboldt County CA......well, if your a pothead you know. If I don't get to high in the next few days I'll try to post more of their songs, but I always end up posting a totally different song then I intend to.

BLAZE UP!!!!

This next song is my shit when I am smoking alone, like right now.

This track is off Violent J's solo cd Wizard Of The Hood. This is Violent J's spin on The Wizard Of Oz. I guess this cd could be considered a "rock-opra", as the first 9 songs all go together, then you get 2 bonus tracks. Anyways the song I am posting is the 4th one on the cd.
Are friend Violent J has just started off down the yellow brick alley way when he decides to stop and roll a blunt when he meets up with the scarecrow (Monoxide from Twiztid) Well just take a listen for yourself if you would......

Violent J feat. Monoxide~Homies 2 Smoke With

.....That's what I'm talking about..."I don't need a brain, I don't need anything, I just want some homies to smoke with(and I'm with that)''

I really like the mellow beat that this track has, it just relaxes me even more than the weed I hit while I listen to it.

BLAZE UP!!!!

P.S. I made a list of songs just so I stop forgetting what ones I want to post next.

So I was at my Ganja Mans pad to pick up a delicious amount of Orange Kush a few days ago, and he had a totally stonertastic anthem playing as I walked in, one that I had never heard before. I just had to ask him what the fuck he was listening to, he sent me in the direction of the RBL Posse, I am still clueless as to who the RBL Posse are, but I was able to find their stellar stoner anthem.

RBL Posse
Don't give me no Bammer WEED

One of California's greatest qualities is that you don't have to smoke shitty bammer weed unless your cheap ass chooses too. :rasta:

Comedy rapper Muck Sticky is all about loving the Green, and loving all of you too.

He was kind of recently featured on MTV's "$5 Cover." He also worked with Saliva for a while, and I am proud to say he lives in Tennessee to boot. I've listened to a couple of his candid interviews on The Awful Show and have listened to his stuff for a little while now. He's totally a fun guy.

WShen discussing stoner anthems, there is 1 song that stands above all the others. That song is Dopesmoker by Sleep. First off I need to say, do not listen to this song unless you have the time it takes to invest in it. Dopesmoker is one hour of sluggish stoner doom metal. One song, one hour. It's a difficult listen at times being so long and moving at the slow pace that it does, but if you put in the time, it is a simply amazing song. Here's a link to a YouTube playlist of the song. Seriously, next time you have an hour to kill and some weed to burn, listen to this.

Just so everyone dose not think I only listen to shitty music, I'll stay away from the wicked shit for a minute.

As you could probably tell my parents were potheads as well. Growing up I remember them having people over, their kids and my siblings and I would all go off and play and the adults would gather around and do their thing.
As the booze kept flowing and the weed kept burning, the radio would keep getting louder and louder. One song I can clearly remember hearing played was this old school Marijuana Anthem.

BLACK SABBATH~SWEET LEAF

Some other bands have remade this wonderful track, but none can match the original in my opinion.

BLAZE UP!!!!

When I was like 13 or 14 this next song got played on The Box quite often.
I remember making fun of some kid I knew changing up some of the lyrics.
I never heard another song by this group and after a few years I forgot all about this song. One day me and my boy were twisting up a joint and it just came to me...I want to get blunted my brother....I asked him if he knew of the song and tried to remember more of the lyrics, but as they say in Half Baked, Marijuana affects the memory. Years came and went and I could not remember shit about this song except ...I want to get blunted my brother... so I started searching online for this song after a long search here we go...

Total Devastation~Many Clouds of Smoke

I wana get blunted my brother...roll up a fat one and pass it around...

Pretty simple song, but I guess it is a Marijuana Anthem.

Blaze Up!!!!

When I first heard Nelly, my brother just got the Country Grammar album. He kept telling me to check it out and that the song Country Grammar was Hot Shit..(get it).. So I Packed up the bong and put the cd on. After Quite a few bong rips I had a nice buzz going and track 13 started to play......

Nelly~Wrap Sumden

I did not think much of this album at first, but I liked this song. Listening to this song all the time switched to listening to the whole cd all the time. Then It grew on me, I think this is Nellys best work and Wrap Sumden is totally a Marijuana Anthem.

Blaze Up!!!!

So I'm back today with a brand spankin' new marijuana anthem, fresh off E-40's new album Revenue Retrievin'. This song is an instant marijuana epic, E-40's lyrics are tight and crisp, and his weed references are top notch.

E-40
The Weed Man

The new album is the shit, if you like E-40's style than pick it up for sure, I may even go out of my element and write a review for it, we'll see.

E-40 lives about 10 miles to the north of me in Blackhawk, Cali. So I like to think we smoke the same high quality buds, after listening to this song I can assure myself we are smokin' the same stuff.

Listen to Nelly Over and Over. Its slow, soothing and not depressing like all those other sappy slow songs. It really makes me calm no matter what the sitution :)

I'm surprised this song hasn't been posted in here. I used to love this song when I was a kid and the best way of hearing stuff was through LaunchCAST Radio. I remember requesting this song over and over before it would play.

Styles P
Good Times (I Get High)

I don't know if this song is "good" or not, but it fit the criteria and it holds a lot of memories for me. Me and my friend (back when I lived in Florida) used to listen to this song and just talk about stuff. I may have never smoked before, but damn if this song doesn't make me want to, just so I can get high to a song about getting high that holds a lot of memories for me.

I'm loving that track by E-40. You lucky bastards in the great state of CALI get to vote on the legalization of personal marijuana usage(up to an ounce) coming this November, I hope y'all get that shit done.

Sticking with a Cali theme this next track comes from The Birdman & Lil Wayne I know that Wayne gets a lot of hate around here, but I do not mind some of his shit. One of the tracks I enjoy happen to be this song paying tribute to some Cali Dro I have a buddy who stays out in S.F. and he gets medical marijuana, when he comes to visit he always makes sure to bring a little extra. I also happen to live in a state that legalized marijuana for medical purposes, I know one person who has a prescription for it.
In my state (Michigan) its not as relaxed as Cali is, but I hope with you guys legalizing the shit maybe, just maybe we can be next. Anyway here is the song.

LEGALIZE IT

Kid Cudi's "Highs N Lows" is great. Very relaxing song. I could listen to that shit all day, everyday.

Cyprus Hills' "Stoned Is The Way of The Walk" is a masterpiece. great Song.

Not sure if The Beatles' " I am the Walrus" counts as a pot anthem, but it is great to get high to. It's some pretty trippy shit.

I just thought I share my best smoke-anthems.

I don't know how to get my links to youtube-videos like some of you guys did. Would appreciate some help with what to do. I just post the Links now.

Mistery - Sweet Marijuana

I usually don't like autotune, but the song is so catchy, especially when you just blazed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6rk5_pvT1s

Alborosie - Herbalist

This is the best reaggae-song about weed imo.
"EXPORT GREEN STASH IMPORT GREEN CASH"

Well these were my best weed-songs. Peace and blaze up :)

My next selection comes from a true hip hop legend. This man helped make rap what it is today. I am talking of none other than Eazy-E. If you don't know who Eazy-E is you either do not like rap, or you live in a fuckin cave. This song came off of what was to be Eazy's last record, sadly this album is mostly known for the Dr. Dre dis track Real Mother Fucking G's. I say sadly because Eazy should be remembered for a lot of the other great songs he made and not some silly beef neither of the two really wanted. Moving onward and forward, This is a good song to burn down to, but so are many of the other songs listed.

Eazy-E~Down To Tha Last Roach

It looks like Eazy-E was using Auto Tune before everyone, Damn Eazy was the shit.

I'd have to go with Sublimes "Smoke Two Joints" the name explains it best. This song is by my favorite band and would have to be a pretty good Majiuana Anthem. My local radio station plays a Marijuana Anthem every day at 4:20 so I'll have to pay attention and see if I can get a few more.

I was just looking over all the great "Marijuana Anthems" that have accumulated like resin in my bong, when it came to my attention that this classic stoner anthem is not included.

This little tune kicked off the classic album Black Sunday and what a way to start it off. If that dont get a stoners attention what will? Another great track on that album not yet on this list is...

...short, but is pretty much the intro to Hits From The Bong, another poster put that up so I'll pass it up. If you do not own this album I suggest going and getting it, as it is a great album from start to finish in my opinion.

It is almost 4/20. Am I the only one who gets excited for this unofficial holiday?

Blaze Up!!!!

So this next marijuana anthem has a couple of dedications attached to it, the first dedication is to my right hand marijuana anthem man LamaNamaneumi, with out him I would not be able to bring you the song below.

My second dedication is to 4 mother fucking 20, If you know you know, if you don't your missing out, this is how it went down, The term originated from a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in 1971. The teens would meet after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue.

Simple as that for your simple ass.

I guess this answers your question Lama :rasta:
