Andrea Bocelli

Everybody Has A Price!
I was just reading about Andrea Bocelli on Wikipedia and I learned that he has received a lot of criticism over the years by several people but to be honest, I think that the criticism he has received over the years is not deserved. I just started listening to him a couple of days ago and I love the songs I have heard so far. He has a really good and powerful voice. From listening to him you (at least I can) feel the passion for whatever song he is singing. I know it’s not everyone tastes in music, but here are some of the songs I really like from him:

Con te Partiro:

Time to say goodbye (it’s the same as Con te Partiro except he sings it with Sarah Brightman):

Vivo por Ella (w/ Martha Sanchez):

Besame Mucho:

The Power of Love:

I think that he sang all of those songs beautifully, so what do you guys think of him? Do you like him or not? Do you think he deserves the criticism he has gotten over the years or not? If you do like him, what are some of your favorite songs from him?

I like him. He's a good tenor, and he has good control on the high notes he reaches. Example look up Vive Ya with Laura Pausini. He sings over her at one point but then heads down to the pentagram notes, and she has a high register to boot, so all in all it's something to note. I'm partial to Time to say goodbye but on his own. But I think he doesn't really project the high register. Him and Pavarotti (another tenor) did a song once and they both hit the same note. Compare them both, and Pavarotti projected it better than Bocelli. I'm not saying he's bad though. He's good, but he just has some things that go against his favor, in my opinion.

For those who don't know, I've been a singer for 16 years. I remember the first day I heard Andrea Bocelli sing live... it was on American Idol a few years ago when he mentored the kids on the show. I remember listening to him and my body becoming all choked up and I couldn't help but shed tears. Even though he has a vision impairment, Bocelli has a way of singing directly into your soul. His voice is absolutely flawless and he is one of the greatest male singers to ever pick up a microphone.

Andrea Boccelli has a good voice. I heard him before realising he was blind and thought he had an incredible voice, good range and a very nice tone to his voice. Con te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye) sounds incredible with Sarah Brightman. Big deal, he doesn't have a voice that an opera society views as strong. He's not singing in an opera, he's selling and doing a good job. Big deal, people don't like him, plenty more do and they're paying to like him. Why care otherwise?
