I'm playing Golden Sun 2 right now, it's awesome, but not as good as the first in my eyes. I like that they opened the game up a great deal... but it's almost TOO opened up for my likings. I'm struggling to figure out where to go right now, though I have an idea.
Oh I'm WAY passed the first dungeon, I'm just leaving some swamp now where I got the 4th Venus Dijinni. But yeah, the puzzle solving in this game is awesome. I loved the dungeon with the whirlwind enhancement things, even though it was ridiculously long and complex.
Why's it so bad? Is it a case of "They changed it, now it sucks"?
The puzzles are all easy as shit
the storyline is atrocious, illogical and completely bereft of intrigue
the world is more closed off than previous titles
and contained multiple points of no return
Most of the ones on GS1 (I haven't played through 2 entirely yet, the boat turned me off a bit) were pretty easy; if they weren't chancy they could be beaten in one or two tries. I'd a feeling with Amurica becoming more and more derp, that they'd dumb down the difficulty a good deal though.
Golden Sun was really fucking simple too, how did they manage that?
