On Sting and the title.
I know there was some complaint going on that TnA didn't punish Kurt for his DUI, but people didn't realize that Impact was already taped for that week.
So reasons why Sting won;
1: Angles DUI forces TNA to remove the belt off of Kurt Angle earlier then anticipated. This is simply a punishment, which Angle deserves. He is living a wreckless lifestyle, and hopefullly this is a mini-wake up call.
2. Jeff Jarrett's Politicking wins out: You never know what goes on backstage, and maybe Jarret got into Carter's head and she pulled the trigger on this move.
3. Angles half commitment to TNA. TNA is trying to establish itself to the main stream, and Angles attention seems to be divided. I know as a company I wouldn't want to put my belt on a guy that seems more and more likely to split his time with MMA and wrestling. We all know wrestling is staged, but how bad would it make your company look if your champion gets beat down by some shmuck in MMA? it's all about image and the illusion that wrestling is real.
4. TNA is simply using the name value of Sting while they can: Let's face it, Sting isn't over the hill, but certainly past his prime. He is capable of putting on good matches still, and TNA realizes that he only has a few years left in him to draw. Sting, Angle and Nash, any coincidence these three were all involved in the main event last night? These are TNA's biggest names, and whether the IWC likes it or not, they are TnA's three biggest main stream draws. TNA is simply using the name of Sting while it last. Kurt is considerably younger in wrestling years to Sting, so Sting having a title run now won't effect Kurt. I would Imagine we are going to see the belt around Angle longer.
I don't have a problem with Sting winning the belt. He's proven, he's established.
