The WWE Network is LIVE in the UK (Early)

Perry Saturn was an incredible wrestler and such a wasted talent (his own fault, really, what with the drugs and all). Last I heard, he got shot in the neck breaking up an attempted rape and disappeared again.

He reappeared after a few years and started doing shoot interviews and taking some indie bookings. Last time I heard he was doing the whole DDPYoga thing but that was well over a year ago. Don't know what he's doing now.

It appears he has a Twitter and that last year he was at the NXT Performance Center coaching. That's nice.

Although she's most associated with DX, am I wrong to think that Chyna's best work was with Eddie?

Watching the joint best PPV of 2000 now, Fully Loaded. It's funny watching the opening match with The Hardys and Lita against T and A with Trish and the ladies just owning the audience by keeping them hooked. Definitely feels like WWE dipping their toes in the water with how good they could work together.

Oddly enough, No Mercy 1999. If I'm not mistaken, it might be the originator of the "dick trapped in a pair of tongs" spot. Jarrett was on Nitro the night after. Go figure.

Hmm, might give it a looksee.

And holyfuckingmonkeyballs. RIKISHI'S SPLASH FROM THE TOP OF THE CAGE. How the fuck did I ever forget about that!?

That stare at 13 seconds gave me chills.

Jarrett returned to WCW on the October 18, 1999 episode of WCW Monday Nitro, attacking Buff Bagwell and proclaiming himself the "Chosen One" of WCW. Jarrett took part in a tournament for the vacant WCW World Heavyweight Championship, winning his first three matches with the assistance of Creative Control.

LOLWCW

Yeh, that stupid "I did it for the Rock" storyline really fucked his character. Sad that he's probably more remembered for the storyline that killed his momentum than the good that came before that.

Having not seen Taker pre-Biker phase, I honestly didn't mind that incarnation too much. Plus he was like the only other ginger hero I had outside of Scholes.

Mate, how fucking amazing are the 2000 PPVs, every one is brilliant. It makes me realise how far the 'E has fallen since then. FAT MEN DIVING OFF CAGES....world class.

It astonishes me how Val doesn't have broken ribs after that, and doesn't grab his stomach in agony after the bloater lands on him...

Indeed. I mean I loved me some Kish back in the day but it's nuts to see how good a reaction he gets from the fans with Val. I was a bit worried that I had like FL for the wrong reasons when I was younger but no, it's just an awesome show! Bradshaws promo on Edge and Christian is borderline scary as he was fucking huge back then!

Too Cool are indeed the shit. Unfortunately, they're quite rightly overshadowed by Edge & Christian, The Hardy Boys and Those Damn Dudleys.

Oh yeah, but they were the shit. Main Eventing RAW's with Rock N'Sock and DX.

Remember when people say the Attitude Era wasn't actually that good? They're lying.

Hipsters everywhere.

Ahhhh ok. its from like 2005 I think. I just never bothered with it because their documentaries were kind of kayfabey back then. Ill check it out though

I'm half way through the Pillman documentary at the moment, it's really good so far.

Only Arn Anderson talks like it's real, the others all talk about "booking", how wrestlers who are still active shouldn't have the book, gimmicks.

It's only Arn who still talks like it was real.

I'm gonna have to look up some more Pillman matches after this, he's brilliant.

Brilliant but too short of a run to be what everyone talks like he is.

Probably the best "could have been...." ever right up there with Magnum TA.

and wrestling people eat that sort of thing up.

Agreed, he's a big 'what if?' He was only 35 when he died, if he'd have stayed healthy and not had the accident he could have been in the ring for another 10 years! So talented though, and such a unique interesting gimmick. He'd have been incredible during the whole attitude era had he not passed

Oh my God, that SummerSlam 2013 main event. Oh my God. Breathtaking. Cena gets the absolute piss kicked out of him.

I'm in two minds about which match is better: Cena/Bryan or Punk/Lesnar. You also had a really good Del Rio/Christian match on the same show. The choice to not have a returning Rob Van Dam competing for the world title is still an odd one but I love Christian so fuck you.

It's not uncommon for me to have a bit of a freak out as I'm watching wrestling live - just ask Tastycles about the time that I was momentarily certain that Santino was going to headline WrestleMania - but it's rare for a match to get an audible reaction from me on a rewatch, which Cena versus Bryan did last night. Stuff like Cena leaping off the turnbuckle while holding Bryan's legs - and nearly doing an AJ Styles - and Bryan trapping one of Cena's legs and hitting a German suplex - I'm not sure how that physically works - are incredible.

I criticised the build to the match at the time: Bryan coming out and telling Cena he was a "parody" of a wrestler who he didn't respect made me fear it was the start of a gimmick where he'd gain a hundred pounds and start wearing a fedora to the ring. That said, the way they followed through on it (with Bryan suddenly going all New Japan, beating Cena black and blue and even slapping him as some sort of sign of "respect") was beautiful. Cena uses Bryan as a rag doll and Bryan uses Cena as a climbing frame.

I was going to say that there are at least three Cena matches for the WWE Championship that are all-time greats but the Michaels match on Raw was actually non-title, wasn't it? Oh, I do love to be pedantic.

Cena/Punk and Christian/Orton at both SummerSlam and Money in the Bank were good combinations. Unfortunately, Christian and Orton's best match was at Over the Limit and Cena and Punk's SummerSlam match was ruined by a horrendous ending.
