That's a 300% increase over the past year. The stock price is almost certainly inflated right now with the release of the WWE Network, but it's not coming back to $10/share anytime soon.

When I was in school we did some stock market trials. I chose wwe as my under low cost stock at like 13 dollars. This was in 2010.

That's not a healthy rise, that's a spike. That's built up all on the speculation and hype of their TV Deals and WWE Network, and will go straight back down if they both don't live up to expectations.

From what I've heard, they grossly over-exaggerated their TV Deals value. It's not anywhere near the value of the NASCAR deal as they stated because of their low ad revenue, and they'll pay pretty badly when they don't reach their predicted 300% TV Deal money increase. Plus, they predicted three million(?) subscribers for the WWE Network which I highly doubt, and even if they did get it I doubt they'll keep the same (or even similar) numbers after the six month commitment ends. Especially considering there'll be a string of B-Rate PPV's during that time and the novelty of having every WWE/ECW/WCW PPV would likely have ended for a lot of people (if it had even started for the casual fans who bought it just for Wrestlemania).

That stock price is in no way an indication of their health, the results of their TV Deals and WWE Network subscribers will be. Those stock prices are just people trying to make a quick buck. As they say, buy on speculation sell on results.

I don't base my opinion of the in-ring and TV segments on the stock price and anyone who does is just getting the enjoyment of wrestling wrong, dammit. Fortunately I think alongside this spike, redolent of that of an IPO, I think their TV and supercards are generally pretty good these days.

The price for "DVR proof" programming is sky rocketing though. The TV numbers the E gets each week have made sure the company is going to get paid. The numbers are 2nd only to the NFL when you look at all sports here stateside. They will provide a family of networks with at least 5 hours of guaranteed ratings grabbing television a week. $800 million a year is within reason.

There are a great deal of people on this board who confuse their own, personal enjoyment of the entertainment product of a company with its overall success.

This is a graphic intended to help deal with that segment of the board's population.

Plus, they attach the overall health of the corporation to the TV ratings; that's most of what we read from these good folks. They believe if the rating goes down three weeks in a row, WWE will be out of business.

A R M B A R ! !

Sorry, I couldnt help myself. I even scared a lady at the grocery store the other day. She was talking to her kid & told him to stop playing around or he will get his arm stuck between the bars of the cart. So naturally I yelled ARMBAR!! as I passed by.

I remember once I yelled that at a movie theater & a guy near the door turned and yelled back "#3 The moss covered, three handled family grudunzle!" Turns out the guy owned the theater & eventually started showing PPV's there. Good times were had. All because of yelling random wrestling moves.

Maybe you aren't the target market, but a secondary one.

I don't care what target market I'm in for any show. From Game Of Thrones to Sesame Street. If I think the character progression of Sesame Street is shit, I should have every right to say it's shit without some idiot on a forum telling me I'm wrong because an upwards spike in stocks proves otherwise.

You certainly have the right to complain about, say, the quality of Justin Beiber's music, but should understand that he probably won't make changes based on your input.

Since you're not a part of his market.

But you always have the right to complain.
Maybe nobody is saying WWE aren't doing well.
It's an infrequent refrain, especially in the TNA forums. You see it in forms like "the WWE isn't exactly setting the world on fire". It rarely takes the form of a direct attack on the financial status of the company, because, duh.

The issue is a conflation of people's personal opinions of the WWE with their overall performance. Some people don't understand that the WWE isn't after every thirty year-old they can get their hands on, and that the material might not be targeted towards what would interest them.

There are a great deal of people who can make the distinction between the two.
