The Wrestlemania Live Discussion - Come Join the Party!

Crowd was not nearly as bad as some of you are making them out to be. It's hard to stay super-excited and into every single match, that's four straight hours guys, they need time to catch their breath sometimes. They were into all of the important matches and they gave HBK the proper send-off, crowd was not that bad at all.

Great Wrestlemania. I can't believe HBK is done. :(

takingthree superkicks and a moonsault through the table was a joke. taker is truly the Underseller. i'm glad his wife is sleeping with other men while he still has her name tattooed to her neck. taker has forever refused to do the job to anyone. thankfully he's on smackdown so i dont have to watch him (i havent watched smackdown in 8 years, i'm a Raw guy). that match was an embarrassment.

...Quick question, are you A) a troll, B) a gnome, or C) mentally ******ed?

Kids these days, sheesh. You put on a better show chappy.

Word.

Just because not every spot in every match was hit flawlessly, it apparently makes for a shitty show.

All the matches were entertaining, even if they didn't all live up to their hype. We got a full four-hour show, and the backstage antics were kept to a minimum. A very solid show. Not the best Mania ever, but definitely an improvement over last year's.

Let's see, match to match breakdown...

ShoMiz v. Truth/Morrison: C-
Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Cody Rhodes - C+
MITB - B+ for some innovative spots and a shocking ending
Triple H vs. Sheamus - B+. Good match that made Sheamus look awesome.
CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio - B+
Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon - B for a great feelgood beginning and ending, but a lucklustre middle where Bret didn't do enough.
Edge vs. Chris Jericho - A-
Team Maryse vs. Team Mickie - D
John Cena vs. Batista - B+
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker - A

Overall - B+

If I spent as much money as those people did to go to Wrestlemania, I would spend every moment marking out like a six year old.

If people are going to start pretending that Taker-Michaels is the only thing to happen in the WWE in the last few years, I'm going to be sick. And have one of those "I can't go to sleep... Somebody is wrong on the internet!" moments.

In perspective:

It was a good match.
It was a great ending.
It was a great moment.
Shawn leaving is huge for wrestling.

I never said Taker HBK was the only thing to happen in WWE the past few years. I just said that since the first one (which was easily the match of the year in WWE) there hasn't been a better match. 99% of matches don't get the chance to go long enough to rival that match, and the few that do aren't of that caliber.

If this is truly the end, which, judging by his reaction, I think it is, thank you HBK. And you went out the only way you could-with another classic. By the way, this was by far the best match of the night, and it was put on by 2 guys on the verge of retirement. What does this say about the future of WWE?

Reading the results, I had no problem with the PPV. Huge surprise that Swagger won and it seems the consensus is that he will be the first to cash it in and lose.

D) None of the above, he is a Jets fan so he's used to bitching

you should be referring to he New York Jets (the Winnepeg Jets moved to Phoenix, making the NY Jets the only Jets in pro American sports). If that's the case, then shut-up-a-your-face. Not all Jets fans bitch all the time. A lot of them do, but not all. In fact, you can probably say that about 90% of sports teams, especially big market teams.

For me, this WM was an A+++++, because the only match I saw was HBK/Taker, which was a good match. The night was an F-----, because I missed everything else, and would have marked the fuck out for Swaggah winning.

Nothing.

It does, however, say plenty about current management's unwillingness to make the future look significant as every year the old timers are given thirty minutes to ply their craft while hot up and comers are given five or ten if they're lucky.

Most Manias are mostly shit. Are you looking to wear the fucking dunce hat?

Oh I'm sorry I have an opinion thats different to yours. In all honesty that was a crappy PPV and not worth the money...I will not buy another WWE PPV if thats the best they can do...TNA on the otherhand have nothing to fear from the WWE...TNA's PPV (crappy endings aside) shit all over anything the WWE does.

You sir, are a buffoon.

I wonder if Swagger winning and HBK losing are a coincidence. This could be a way to elevate the young guys and for the old guys to go out on top or something.

Which means he'll probably win just to fuck with the internet's collective head. WWE has seemed to enjoy things like that in recent years.

Motherfucking TRUTH.

It's not that hard to teal the show when you're given 40 minutes to end Wrestlemania, it's hard for the other guys to steal the show when they only have 15 minutes to work.

The under card was underwhelming but the three matches that needed to deliver did.

Jericho vs Edge was a good match and the ending with the spear was a nice touch.

Cena and Batista I thought outdid their Summerslam match. I'd give it about 4 stars.

HBK and Taker delivered with another great match. It was at least on par with, if not slightly better then the one they had last year. Overall Mania was good.

As Shane Douglas said, the easiest people in wrestling to trick are smarks. The thing is, at the end of the word, they're still marks.
