World (Title) turned up-side-down?

GREEN BAY, Wisc.– With WWE Elimination Chamber just nine days away, the future of the World Heavyweight Championship was left in a sea of uncertainty. And as SmackDown came to a close, the WWE Universe was left wondering just who is the World Champion?

World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Dolph Ziggler for the World Heavyweight Championship Match
Prior to the main event, the self-appointed Special Guest Referee Vickie Guerrero reaffirmed that Edge’s Spear was still banned. If he opted to use it against Dolph Ziggler, he would be disqualified and the “acting” GM’s bleach-blond boyfriend would automatically become the new World Heavyweight Champion. In the peak of the heated championship showdown, Vickie attempted to spear Edge herself, only to hurt her ankle. The Ultimate Opportunist seized the moment and hit the banned Spear on Ziggler two separate times. The Green Bay Packers' Clay Matthews then charged to the ring as a second Special Guest Referee, making the three-count to secure Edge’s victory. However, the outcome of SmackDown’s main event became unclear when the injured Guerrero waved-off The Rated-R Superstar win. Who is the rightful holder of the World Title?

Divas Champion Eve def. Layla
Still feeling the heat from being pinned by Kelly Kelly in the 3-on-2 Mixed Handicap World Heavyweight Title Match one week ago, Layla fell short yet again. Despite a distraction from Michelle McCool, the English-born Diva ended up losing her match after Divas Champion Eve reversed her pin attempt.

Kane def. JTG
Just nine days before Kane will attempt to reign supreme over five other Superstars at WWE Elimination Chamber, The Big Red Monster laid waste to JTG with a vicious chokeslam.

Wade Barrett def. Rey Mysterio
Preparing to represent The Corre at WWE Elimination Chamber, Wade Barrett set out to gain momentum over Rey Mysterio, another participant of the impending sadistic structure. Following a distraction from Justin Gabriel, Barrett did just that, defeating The Ultimate Underdog with Wasteland. After the match – when The Corre looked ready to continue their assault on Mysterio – Big Show stomped to the aid of the masked Superstar. Though The World’s Largest Athlete wrecked havoc at first, the combined force of his ruthless adversaries left him reeling on the canvas. This included an earth-shattering suplex by Ezekiel Jackson.

Drew McIntyre def. Chris Masters
Before Drew McIntyre’s match with Chris Masters could begin, the “Chosen One” took to the microphone, setting the blame for Kelly Kelly getting fired solely on the shoulders of World Heavyweight Champion Edge. Dedicating his match to the ousted Diva, The Sinister Scotsman reigned supreme over Masters with the Future Shock DDT.

Justin Gabriel def. WWE Tag Team Champion Vladimir Kozlov
One week after The Corre’s Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater scored a non-title victory on WWE Tag Team Champions Vladimir Kozlov & Santino Marella, Gabriel defeated Kozlov with the 450 Splash. Afterward, Barrett hit Wasteland on Santino and Jackson hurled Kozlov to the canvas with absolute force.

Alberto Del Rio def. Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston in a Non-title match
The 2011 Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio celebrated the coming of Valentine’s Day by proclaiming all the love in his heart for “destiny,” which he claimed loved him back. Seeking retribution for Del Rio’s attack one week ago, Kofi Kingston chose the present over future destiny, attacking his smiling foe with the kendo stick and destroying Del Rio’s trinkets of celebration. As the result of that assault, the two Superstars squared-off. And one week after Del Rio cost Kofi a place at WWE Elimination Chamber, the aristocratic Superstar triumphed over Kingston with the cross armbreaker Will destiny be on the side of Del Rio in the main event of WrestleMania?

SmackDown Elimination Chamber Match

At WWE Elimination Chamber, six SmackDown Superstars will step into the career-altering abyss that is the Elimination Chamber Match. Will Edge walk out with the World Heavyweight Championship still in his grasp? Or will another Superstar rise from the metal mayhem as the new World Champion and face No. 1 contender Alberto Del Rio in the main event at WrestleMania? The Elimination Chamber is such a sinister instrument of destruction that it has only been contested 11 times since its inception. The mangled configuration of torture is comprised of two miles of chain, 10 tons of steel, measuring 16-feet in height and 36-feet in diameter. Two Superstars will begin the match, with the others being released one-at-a-time into the insanity thereafter. A Superstar wins when his five adversaries have been eliminated by pinfall or submission. There is no disqualification; no order; no place to hide. In addition to Edge, the match will include Rey Mysterio, Kane, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre – all of whom claimed their opportunity in a series of Elimination Chamber Qualifying Matches on the Feb. 4 edition of SmackDown. “Acting” SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero used her authority to automatically insert her boyfriend, Dolph Ziggler, into the fray. Although the odds are stacked against The Rated-R Superstar retaining his World Heavyweight Championship, The Master Manipulator has triumphed in the Elimination Chamber before, forging his legacy in a total of three battles inside the dreaded structure. Kane also has been in three Elimination Chamber Matches, including its inaugural match in the 2002 Survivor Series. The Devil’s Favorite Demon is not only tailor-made for the hellish structure, but he would like nothing better than to use it to reclaim the title that The Ultimate Opportunist took from him at WWE TLC. Rey Mysterio has experienced the madness of Elimination Chamber on two separate occasions. His athletic prowess, extreme heart and aerial superiority allow him to thrive on all levels of the cage-like environment and could make the difference for the two-time World Champion. Although this is the first Elimination Chamber Match for Ziggler, McIntyre and Barrett, each has demonstrated the type of ruthless aggression needed to reign supreme amidst the masochistic steel. Who will emerge from WWE Elimination Chamber with the World Heavyweight Championship and go on to headline WrestleMania?

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio

At WWE Elimination Chamber, Alberto Del Rio will square-off against Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston. Will the No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship continue to build momentum as he prepares to step onto the Grandest Stage of Them All? Or could there be “Trouble in Paradise”? For the past several weeks, Kofi Kingston has been on an explosive collision course with Alberto Del Rio. On the Feb. 4 edition of SmackDown, a distraction by the Mexican aristocrat cost Kofi his Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match. Later that night, when the high-flying Superstar came to stop his infuriated foe from attacking Hornswoggle, Del Rio attacked Kofi with a kendo stick and locked him in his devastating cross armbreaker. One week later, The Dreadlocked Dynamo’s animosity reached a boiling point when he delivered a retribution-laden kendo assault on his smiling adversary during Del Rio’s Valentine's Day celebration. Later that night, Del Rio showed the WWE Universe why he will headline WrestleMania, when he defeated Kingston with his destructive cross armbreaker in a non-title match. Can Kofi Kingston drive a fork in Del Rio’s Road to WrestleMania at WWE Elimination Chamber?

Find out Sunday, Feb. 20 at 8 / 7 CT, only on pay-per-view.

Missed Smackdown last week, so at first I thought it was Heath Slater making the count there.

For the first time in a while, I'll be here.

I can only take so much Michael Cole and when you add in the fact I can't stand Vickie Guerrero either you get me not watching Smackdown while the 2 of them have big rolls on the show.

Besides I'm watching A Decade of Decadence anyway.

Interesting, some light heat for Cena.

Anyway, I have a question. I haven't been watching WWE for months but may I ask what's up with all the RAW stars on smackdown today? Is it a wrestlemania thing or is the WWE just being "loose" again with the brand extension stuff?

KIIIIIIING BOOKAH

Also, They've finally made the Corre theme fairly OK for the first time since changing it from the first one.
