Mr. Artistic guy
Better Off This Way
I'd love to say the backstage segment between Scott Steiner and Eric Young counter-acted the rest of what was shit on iMPACT....it almost did but not quite.
- Jersey Shore scenario - Ummmm. I don't get it. So it's like a feud between two people from Jersey Shore, so theoretically it's designed to put one over. Then unless one of them is sticking around for a while what's the point? The reason celebs come in is to put the wrestler over, how are Robbie and Cookie going to benefit, but being loosely affiliated to someone in the whole story? I don't get it. It should be just JWow returning and getting beat down by cookie, to make up for the mishap last time, but nah, that would make entirely too much sense, why make sense when you could DO SOMETHING COMPLETELY ILLOGICAL as long as someone is throwing money at you to do it? Good question.
- The Jarretts/Kurt and Bully/D-von - This isn't a flaw with these stories, the flaw is these are probably the most consistent sensible things in TNA, and given that all guys involved are around the 40 year mark it signals disaster. That was until some jackass named Tommy Dreamer got inadvertently interjected for no real reason into the latter of the two situations, only the first one now makes any sense/really has my undivided attention.
- AJ/Flair/Hernandez segment - One word. MESSY. Just very very messy. Looks like Hernandez' work in AAA has done nothing to improve his in-ring safety judging by last week and this. Am I the only guy finding it hard to generate any sympathy for Matt Morgan about Hernandez costing him a world title shot? Not only for the fact that he (kayfabe) already had at least 2 recently and lost clean, but for when Morgan "put him on the shelf" just last year which is a more heinous crime. I could only hope other people with a 12 month memory backlog will appreciate this hitch.
- The 3/3/11 promo thing - It actually made me giggle. My first thought when I saw it was how funny would it be if people started speculating going is it UNDERTAKER? I didn't mind what they tried to do here, playing on WWE's heat apart from the fact it's blatantly obvious who it will be here unlike in WWE's case, but that's hard to help. It wasn't overly explicitly copying WWE but it was still noticeable, I'll put my hand up and say I liked it. What ensues when that guy does return will likely be another matter. For instance, he takes one step into the ring and I'll develop alopecia.
They are the main things I can remember.
